A Deep Dive into Rwanda
5/5

I initially came in skeptical of Golden Rwanda Safaris' all 5 star reviews - after all, it is very rare for anything to have all 5 star reviews these days. However, I can say that Golden Rwanda Safaris has met, if not exceeded, my expectations. Through a custom tour package (I selected their Chimpanzee and Golden Monkeys tour and tacked on a gorilla trek), I was able to see Rwanda's unique wildlife. I felt blessed when I saw a chimp family eating their day away in a fig tree, and I nearly broke down in tears as I witnessed gorillas in Volcanos National Park, and how they were just like us.

But perhaps the best part of the experience was making friends with my safari driver, Sufiani, with whom we talked about many things, from science and technology, to the cultures and histories of both Rwanda and the United States. It is one of those moments where you - both of us really - truly get to know how people live and think on opposite sides of the world.

I did notice some flaws however that relate to the hotels: for example, the Top View Hotel room wifi did not work properly, and the Five Volcanos Boutique Hotel had trouble with hot water. I don't hold them against Golden Rwanda Safaris since they are outside the scope of the tour company. Besides, they are still obscenely luxurious places to stay compared to my budget safari experience in Kenya the previous week where we slept in tents (let alone compared to how the locals live).

In addition, given recent events it is prudent to be mindful of the security situation in Rwanda. Sufiani had to rebook my hotel in Gisenyi due to the M23 rebel takeover of Goma the day before, and the Rwanda-DRC border remains dangerous at the time of this writing. While Rwanda remains relatively safe, and Golden Rwanda Safaris will do everything in their power to ensure your safety (e.g. the rebooking), it is a reminder that this remains a volatile part of the world.

Amazing

5/5

Amazing! We had the most amazing time on our tour around Kenya. John our driver/guide was informative, helpful and pleasant. We got to see the big 5 and many many more! The staff at Super Eagles were prompt in answering any questions we had before our trip. I'd definitely recommend this tour and company. All staff at our accommodation were very friendly and accommodating.

Emmah C. was a very knowledgeable, friendly and engaging tour guide of Johannesburg.
5/5

In January, Emmah C. gave us an excellent tour of Johannesburg. We learned about the mining industry, the history of Johannesburg as we visited the old town and had a good cup of coffee with engaging conversation in the section of town called Maboneng. At the Apartheid Museum, Emmah advised us about the layout of the extensive museum and the intentions of exhibits in various sections.
We highly recommend Emmah as an overall excellent guide!

How many times can you say wow & be blown away over 4 days!!!!
5/5

As a well seasoned traveller I've been to & seen some amazing sights around the globe but nothing like this. Obviously going on a safari you have to accept that you may not see all the animals you expect to see but we were lucky enough to see all of the "Big 5" & on numerous occasions.

We booked a 3 night safari which meant we went on 8 drives in total & each one was a different adventure. Wild Wings were not the cheapest or dearest of the operators I looked at. I have shown family & friends our pictures & talked of our experiences & they can't believed what we paid, great value for money.

Our guide was Rufus. I could basically write a short novel on him. What a guy. He was friendly, funny & so so knowledgeable about the animals & the park. His enthusiasm & warmth really came through. How on earth he can see what's going on whilst driving & talking to us is amazing. He knows the park inside & out & just seemed to know where all the animals would be. We spoke to other people at the camp & they hadn't seen half of what we had. You could call it luck but we put it down to him. Prior to the start of our safari we thought we would be sharing the vehicle & tours with other people (not that we would have minded that) but it was just the two of us & Rufus. This made us feel quite privileged as you would see other vehicles with up to 10 people on board.

We were lucky enough to see a Leopard stalking a Impala, a leopard casually strolling along the side of the road, an elephant charging at 3 lions, a pride of 9 to 11 lions basking in the sun, 3 lions sat at the side of the road, a hyena trailing a pack of baboons who had a mother whose baby had died & the hyena was after it, numerous Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalos, crocodiles & hyenas. The birds were also amazing to see & hear but there were so many I couldn't mention them all. We also saw 9 vultures circling overhead in the bush but we couldn't actually see the kill but it was still a special sight to see. Basically it is the circle of life & the survival of the fittest.

Our accommodation was satisfactory & cleaned every day by a friendly maid. Rufus cooked us our breakfast & evening meal every day. He always offered us a choice of foods. There is a well stocked supermarket on the site & a restaurant (where you can access the internet free of charge).

I can't praise Wild Wings enough & the amazing Rufus. If you do manage to get him as your guide you are in for an exceptional experience & you will understand why I have praised him so much. Throughout the booking process I dealt with Michael who always replied to my numerous E-Mails & arranged easy collection from Nelspruit airport & dropped us in Johannesburg at the end of our safari.

A 10/10 Experience - Thank you Wild Wings & Rufus (The true king of the jungle)

Unforgettable 7-Day Safari with Samora in Tanzania
5/5

Our 7-day safari in Tanzania was an absolute dream! From start to finish, all our wishes were taken into account, making this trip truly special.

The accommodations were clean, cozy, and offered breathtaking views. Staying in tents allowed us to experience an extraordinary time in the heart of nature, surrounded by wildlife. The lodges, on the other hand, were more luxurious, yet they still maintained the authentic safari feel, which we greatly appreciated.

Our guide, Reggie, was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. He shared so much insightful information with us, but more importantly, he quickly felt like a friend. He always made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of, which added to the overall experience.

Without a doubt, we would recommend Samora to our friends anytime. This safari was an adventure of a lifetime, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Firstly, my request for information was dealt with quickly by Derick.
I was able to make the changes I wanted without any problem (changes to the itinerary and number of nights or lodge additions, night drives).
As far as the trip was concerned, we appreciated Ramathan's responsiveness, particularly with regard to
a problem with a night drive and his organisation, which was quickly resolved.
As feline fanatics, we were delighted because we saw leopards, lions and a serval on several occasions.
The sight of an antelope being captured by lionesses and their cubs during a night drive was magical.
We had also never seen so many buffalo at Kidepo.
We also saw rhinoceros, hyenas, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, mongooses and several species of antelope.
The game drives with the rangers or local guides were always interesting.
Spending 1 hour so close to the gorillas at BWINDI was extraordinary - what a thrill!
Seeing the shoebill was also a great moment.
The accommodation was of good quality, with a special mention for APOKA LODGE, a wonderful place with Patrick, who spotted our first leopard.
IKOROM SAFARI LODGE was also a nice surprise with very friendly staff.
The only downside was that we ate too much! We ate very well but often too much.
Thanks to Ramathan for putting up with us throughout the trip.
All in all, it was a great trip with some wonderful memories.

A Trip of a Lifetime – Tubale Exceeded All Expectations!
5/5

Our trip with Tubale was truly incredible. They took care of every detail with such thoughtfulness. From the planning stage, Annette was always responsive, helpful, and incredibly kind. And during our trip, they went above and beyond to make our experience perfect.

Our guide, Herman, was outstanding. He took great care of us—not just with the big things, like expertly navigating the parks to give us the best opportunities to see wildlife, but also with the small details, like surprising us with fresh pineapple for snacks and ensuring we always had water.

I celebrated my birthday during this trip, and Tubale made it so special.

The game drives and treks with rhinos, chimpanzees, and gorillas were absolutely incredible. Each accommodation was fantastic, with great food and even better staff. We felt truly welcomed and comfortable everywhere we stayed.

I could go on and on and still wouldn't be able to say enough wonderful things about this experience. This was truly a trip of a lifetime, and choosing Tubale was the best decision. If you're considering a trip, we couldn't recommend them more highly!

Above expectation
5/5

I travelled with Sympathy Aggrey as my guide for 12 days through Uganda. Thanks to his broad network and his hands-on attitude I not only saw all the animals l hoped to see. But l was also able to get into contact with locals. He enabled me a meeting with a person working in the field of my profession. And somehow I got my dearly needed daily coffee break, too. I will return and book a trip in East Africa with Allanblackia Safaris.
