A Once-in-a-Lifetime Safari Experience in Kenya
Joseph was our business consultant before the tour officially started, and he was absolutely professional and responsive. He proactively adjusted our itinerary with great attention to detail, making sure every accommodation was well arranged. He also handled hotel invoices and airport pick-up preparations efficiently, which made us feel well cared for right from the very beginning.
Caxstone was our guide during the safari, and everything went smoothly and precisely according to our itinerary. During the game drives, he always found the best spots for us to view the wildlife. Honestly, we weren’t obsessed with spotting the “Big Five,” but thanks to Caxstone, we completed it within the first two days!

5 days with Gatelinks Safaris, an unforgettable experience
For my first safari, I had a clear idea of the itinerary I wanted to follow, including must-see parks and activities like a balloon flight and a bike tour at Hell’s Gate.
After a long research, « safaribookings.com » popped up with a few companies and Gatelinks Safaris was the first one to respond to my quote request.
Rose answered me very quickly, just a few hours after my enquiry, with a detailed quote and a digital itinerary matching my personal choices.
After a few contacts with other companies, I decided to select Gatelinks for my project.
From the first conversation, Rose has shown her deep knowledge in safari experiences and we builded together the perfect project for a 5 days safari including Masai Mara, Nakuru, Naivasha, Hell’s gate and the Girafe Center at Nairobi.
Every project is fully customizable and so every request will be analysed by Rose and included in the program depending on availability and feasibility.

We met at my hotel the first day, the whole itinerary was explained in details again and she handed me over to my driver, David.

He took care of me during those 5 days, checking everything for me (money withdrawal, change of planning due to weather,…) and making my safari unique and safe.
His drove me trough those beautiful parks with care and his knowledge about wildlife is wide and valuable.
David is such a good driver, his talent to spot animals is exceptional and this the result of years of experience.
The drives between the parks can be very long (5 hours sometimes) but with David, you just don’t realize it. We stopped a few times on the way for a coffee, had great discussions about the life in Kenya, he learned me some basic Swahili words,…

As this was my first Safari, here are some tips.
Vehicle
Choose the Land Cruiser, it’s an extra budget but the car is much more confortable than the standard van.
Furthermore, the Land Cruiser can drive trough every kind of road or path, giving you the chance to explore many off-road areas.
It’s very well equipped : water, charging station for mobile phones, pop-up roof,…
Visa
Apply for the ETA at least one week in advance and print your ETA document in colours. The black and white picture is sometimes not clear enough which does not help when going through immigration.
Tipping
This is an important part of the total budget as it is a common practice in Kenya.
I personally used those numbers : 10usd /day/drive - 10usd/day/hotel
This can be adapted according to the level of performance delivered and personal feelings.
Suitcase
It is recommended to use a backpack or duffel bag as it fits better in the car trunk.
Especially if you travel in group or using national flights between the parks.
However, I have seen a wide majority of tourists traveling with hard cases on wheels.
Money
If you decide to withdraw money via an ATM, USD’s are hard to find as the majority of ATM’s offer KES only.
Money exchange at a “bureau de change” or bank is always possible.
Make sure you have a mix of both currencies even if paiements with credit cards are often accepted.

Amazing 7 days safari experience
Our 7-day safari was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Communication before and during the trip was smooth and professional.
Our driver and guide, George, was excellent — friendly, reliable, and very knowledgeable about the animals and the area. Thanks to him, we saw so many beautiful animals, including lions, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and even two leopards and a cheetah.
The lodges were comfortable, we had mosquito nets and the food was tasty.
In summery it was an amazing experience.

Great tour operator with flexibility in the program
We did a tour with Serengeti Smile for 5 days. We took Hussein Matela as a guide and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wildlife and nature of the parks. Additionally, he was on the radio a lot to get information on what was going on in the parks, so we could get the best experience and see as much as possible. Would recommend and book again!

Our uncoming was very nice, paying very easy, booking so fine with Tabitha. The tour in Masai Mara the best ever. He drive very good. He looking for all animals, tells about the animals and the trees and plants. He is very intelligent. The tents in the camp was very cozy and clean. The meals are very good.
He looks for toilets and drinking on the road and has for us many water in the bottles.
This was the best trip here in Kenya. Jack was the best

Beautifull trip with the best driver
When I saw all the positive reviews I thought it was unposssible for agency to have so many.
But after my trip I can highly recommend this agency and especially driver Stanley. We spend with Stanley 5 days.
Stanley wanted to show us all the animals on Safari. When other drivers stopped we ran to see cheetahs. We were always the first to see something intresting and we had planty of time to enjoy the views.
Stanley told us so many intresting facts about animals.
Thank you Stanley for your smile and for showing us beautiful animals. We had luck to have you us our driver.
If one day I return to Kenya I choose this agency and the best driver again :).

Amazing Team
The team was fantastic in helping our entire group summit using the 8 day Lemosho route. Our guides, Dismas and Deo, kept us physically and mentally prepared with their health checks, advice, and entertaining conversation. Our chef, David, prepared 3 delicious and filling meals each day. You will not go hungry! The porters were amazing doing all the heavy lifting to have our camp set up and water available for drinking and washing when we arrived to the next campsite. The management office was very responsive in scheduling airport transfers and answering any questions. I highly recommend choosing this company.
