Amazing experience
5/5

Elijah must be the most patient man on the planet. Before commiting to a safari arranged by him we must have hit him with at least 100 e-mails whilst designing our trip. He answered all our questions and made us feel at ease as this holiday was a little out of our comfort zone.
Elijah met us at the airport and intruduced us to our driver (the driver became a friend and was a fantastic chap), Elijah again met us at the end of the safari before taking us back to the airport.
The safari itself was beyond our expectations, simply perfect, what great memories, we saw everything!

Thank you.

Best Guide Ever!
5/5

One of the best experiences ever! We went on a weekend safari with Lucas and he customized the trip to fit our short schedule. We were able to visit both Ngorogoro Crater and Serengeti National Park.

Lucas planned a full schedule to maximize our time (14 hour days). In addition to the parks, we also visited a Maasai village, multiple gift shops, and the Tanazanite Experience Center. He was super flexible and even took us to a local waterfall hike in Arusha (not planned on the original schedule) a few hours before our airport departure.

From the moment we landed, Lucas took care of everything. This included food, lodging, and transportation. We rode in an awesome fully decked out Land Cruiser which the roof pops up for max viewing! The food consisted of amazing local rice dishes (what we‘d requested) and the lodges were 5-star accommodations.

Most impressively, Lucas was extremely knowledgeable and knew the name of every plant, animal, and bird we asked about. Like EVERY BIRD. Lucas had field guidebooks with him and flipped directly to the pages of each plant/animals we inquired. This is is specialty so if you're looking for more than just a guide who can drive you around, Lucas can tell you endless facts about all the local species.

Lucas drove through the parks like it was the back of his hand and took us to some of the best spots for wildlife viewing. I honestly wasn't expecting to see so much with just a meager two days to spare, but saw more wild animals than I imagined (outside of a zoo setting).

I'm definitely coming back for a much longer safari next time and 100% rebooking with Lucas.

Note: Bring USD cash - the entire area accepts the US dollar, and in some places it's preferred over the local currency. Lucas also prefers USD cash as he fronts all the costs for the hotel reservations, food, and park entrance fees/permits.

Best price and best experience, best tour ever
5/5

It satisfies all your dreams and request. We asked for information and they had the best price, they answered always really fast to all our questions and they did exactly what we asked for. Our guide Mudy was excellent, he had a lot of experience and a nice sense of humour. I enjoyed our stay with him so I highly recommend him. Our chef Guideon was also really good, we enjoyed all our meals, we were really happy with both of them. After the trip we had the accommodation and meals included too, which was a nice surprise.
They work hard to make the client happy and you see it from the first moment that you arrive there, they give you confidence so I'm sure I will recommend them everywhere.

The Perfect Honeymoon- Highly Recommend Home to Africa and William :-)
5/5

My husband and I had the most incredible honeymoon in Uganda by booking a 6 Day African Safari and Gorilla Trekking with Home to Africa. Our guide, William, made it such a memorable experience for us. He arranged lots of surprises for us during the trip, with our accommodation decorated in petals, a celebratory honeymoon cake and a private candle lit dinner out in the trees; we truly could not have asked for anything more.

Every one of the lodges we visited were in the most amazing settings and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Uganda truly has the most beautiful scenery that either of us had ever seen. We were having such an amazing time on our tour that we asked William to extend it by one more day and I only wish we could have done more. My advice to anyone booking this would be to take more time at each of the lodges, as each of them have their own special qualities and there is so much to experience.

We were both very excited about the gorilla trekking and it still exceeded our expectations. Words cannot describe what it is like being up so close to these magnificent animals. I just wish we could do it all over again.

All of the nature and wildlife in Uganda is fantastic. As keen birders we were trying to find as many new species as we could on our trip and again William was a great help to us with this. His expertise coupled with the assistance of the knowledgeable staff at each location helped us see over 150 new species within a week. With over 1100 species in Uganda, anyone interested in birds will not be disappointed.

We both highly recommend this trip to anyone considering it and want to say one last massive thank you to William for giving us such a special and memorable honeymoon, with memories that we will treasure forever.

The experience with mountain warriors was incredible. We spent two days and one night completely unreal. We had the chance to see many of the rarest animals, accompanied by an extraordinary guide. He took great care of us and took the time to answer all our questions and explain each specificity to us. The hotel totally corresponded to the advertisement. We leave full of wonderful memories. I highly recommend this company, We are more than delighted. Thanks again

They are very dedicated and provide an excellent service and bring unforgettable memories.

We had amazing time on our trip! Everything was perfect - the lodge, the food (hats off to the head chef) and of course all the game drives!
The only thing we wish was to have a bit more time in the Blyde River Canyon. Our driver gave us only 20 minutes to admire the magnificent view.

Thorough, knowledgeable and engaging
5/5

The tour organised for us was everything we hoped for and more. Speke were very flexible to late changes and produced an itinerary that matched our needs. Our guide Julius enhanced the experience adjusting the programme to enhance the experience. We felt we were treated royally with extra surprises like sundowners, welcoming rooms and massages. Julius also introduced us to the culture and answered our many questions. He also ensured we had the best guides for individual activities. In summary our trip was marvellous

Fantastic
5/5

Had a fantastic safari with our family. The driver/guide Charles is the most experienced guide you should have, together with the chef Emanuel who always surprises you with the delicious food. nothing is too much for them and we have seen the most special animals up close. So we can only say if you go on safari you should go to Crater Explorers.

Unforgettable Safari Experience
5/5

This was my first safari. I chose the 4 day safari through Masai Mara Reserve, Lake Naivasha, and Nakuru National Park in Kenya. I was on a tight budget and this one was reasonably priced. I was prepared for some roughing it due to the price. Dennoh (Dennis) was my local guide. He was an outstanding guide. He was very knowledgeable about the animals, their habitats, the Masai Mara culture, the Kenyan culture and an all around intelligent, trustworthy, dependable, kind person. And trust me...you want someone like this when you are going into the natural habitat of lions, leopards, elephants, etc.. He seemed to respect that we were in the natural habitat of these animals but at the same time went above and beyond to try to give us an unforgettable experience to see the big 5 animals and many many more, including birds, lizards, etc.. I can't name them all but we saw lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, gazelles, hyenas, hippos, rhinos, jackals, ostriches, wildebeests, buffalo, crocodiles, impalas, baboons, monkeys, water bucks, flamingos, storks, herons, pelicans, eagles, etc.. all in their natural habitat. The photos I was able to take were incredible. The animals didn't seem to be bothered by us because there is so much space for them to roam around in there and so much respect from the guides. The guides seem to all work as a team to help each other in there, especially Dennis. He was zipping from one area of the park to the next when he heard on the radio there was a big 5 animal spotted somewhere. And Dennis stopped to help two vehicles that were stuck in the mud inside the Masai Mara reserve. Another advantage of having Dennis as your guide - he didn't get stuck in the mud once because he's an outstanding driver that knew his safari vehicle very well and kept it very well maintained.

There actually wasn't much roughing it. There was a lot of driving to get to the three different places but the food was amazing and the accommodations were fine. The first two nights were in tents beside Masai Mara Reserve. The tents were very comfortable with full size beds and a washroom with shower in each. The tent structures were solid with concrete floors and tent walls/roofs that were in good condition. There was a communal tent where a hot breakfast and dinner was served each day. There was a long line of phones charging in this tent while we ate our meals because it had lots of plugs and we used up our batteries taking so many incredible photos each day. The third night was in a luxury hotel near Nakuru National Park and on our way to this hotel Dennis gave us the option of a boat tour around Lake Naivasha where we saw more wildlife, especially hippos that were common there. This final hotel had a swimming pool, fitness room, lounge, and tavern. A delicious dinner and breakfast was served here before our final tour of Nakuru National Park. The tour of Nakuru National Park was only a half day, which was enough, and we stopped and had another delicious late afternoon lunch/dinner on the way back to Nairobi.

You won't find a better safari experience anywhere. You may pay more to have more luxury but in my opinion this was the best balance between luxury and price, and having the chance to spend time with such a good man and excellent Kenyan guide Dennis meant so much more to me than luxury. It's funny because I was hoping to meet new friends on this tour that I would keep in touch with back home but to be honest it's Dennis I will miss the most. I hope he keeps in touch and we stay friends. Thank you so much Dennis. I will never forget this.
