Overwhelming safari with a personal touch
In early July, we traveled with our family of 5 to Arusha (Tanzania) for a 9-day safari. We had been looking for a personalized trip with our own accents. It certainly didn't have to be a 'VIP' trip, but we were looking for a small operator with whom we could have direct contact and with whom we could plan the trip together. Coincidence brought us to Koen and Katja, JADORE. And because we wanted to experience what JADORE stood for live, besides WhatsApp, Facebook and other channels, we went to the Holiday Expo in Antwerp (early March '22) in preparation for the trip, because there would be a stand there.
To our surprise, we met Koen himself, who had travelled from Tanzania especially for the fair. His enthusiasm was contagious. He spoke at length about his own experiences in Tanzania, about life there and about the Tanzanian motto "hakuna matata". In support he showed countless beautiful and self-made pictures of Arusha, of Usariver (their home town) and of course of the wildlife in the various parks. At the end of the afternoon, we felt sorry that we had to wait another 4 months.
Finally, on July 5, we land at Kilimanjaro National Airport. Koen and Katja are waiting for us with their drivers and 2 vehicles. By then, we no longer see them as a tour operator, but as a real hosts who do everything to make their guests feel at home, which they succeed in doing. All preparations are made to perfection, all locations are checked and double checked. The most important thing with the safaris is of course the driver, the man or woman with whom you travel around in the parks for 9 days. Koen has promised a good driver and that promise was fulfilled. Anwar turned out to be a great guy, an all-round driver who knew the parks through and through, who also knew a lot of drivers personally and who advised us everywhere we went (lodges, stores, museums, ...). With him we were able to see the big 5 (ok though the rhino was a bit far ;-)), the uggly 5 and so much more. In the 9 days we traveled through Kibola Forest, Arusha National Park (NP), Tarangire NP, Lake Manyara NP, Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, and of course Serengeti NP: 9 intense days filled with beautiful game walks and game drives and a lifetime of memories. Thank you very much Koen, Katja, Anwar and the whole team for the unforgettable time! Good luck over there and hakuna matata!

Personalised and friendly service is at the forefront.
They made our stay perfect. Everything was taken care of in a really smooth way, and you can tell that they have a lot of experience. They always adapted to our needs and did way more than we had expected. The staff is very kind and makes sure that you feel welcome, and they keep a high standard on cooking and cleaning. Twiga was professional, responsive, experienced and amazing’
We received multiple quotes, we went with Twiga Tour because they are family business, operated by locals and were cost effective.
Mukami was so responsive, we had to change our itinerary around but she was able to accomodate.
We organised a private tour with a land cruiser. Our driver/ tour guides, Seif and Peter (Our tour guide in tanzania) were excellent! Seif was so professional, experienced and knowledgeable, they made it easier for us to learn the local culture and helped us with settling in. They provided binoculars, hand sanitiser, gifts when we arrived. Our accomodation for all places were wonderful!!
Masa Maara and Serengeti national parks were our favourite! We didn’t get to see the great migration but it was still amazing!!

Tanzania Specialist the right choice for a trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar:
With my wife and daughter booked a trip with Tanzania Specialist for a 15 day trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar. The choice fell on them not only because of a wonderful trip that they had put together for us, but as an extra plus as the only tour operator having their own office in Arusha with employees and own vehicles and guides.
This choice turned out to be very justified afterwards.
Left last June and I can confirm that this was a great beautiful trip. With our guide Glory beautiful safaris in Tanzania made. Great accommodations and beautiful lodges including the Sound of Silence. We enjoyed the vast nature and the many species of game and birds.
Also the resort In Zanzibar, Next Paradise was great!
But during the trip in Tanzania, an accident happened to me. At the entrance to the Serengeti National Park, I stumbled into a building and landed with a hard blow against a point of a stone building, resulting in a large massive bleeding head wound.
Thanks to the resolute action of our guide, the bleeding could be stopped somewhat and she drove us with great urgency in 30 minutes to the nearest medical post. There the wound was sewn (provisionally) closed. For further medical treatment I had to go to a hospital in Arusha. And that's where the great support of the employees of the Tanzania Specialist office in Arusha begins.
They arranged a flight for the three of us from the Serona Airstrip Serengeti to Arusha. There we were met by a driver from Tanzania Specialist who took us to the hospital. There we were met by another employee who helped us throughout the day until 11 pm in the evening with arranging the various investigations and the payments thereof.
In the evening I was successfully operated on there and we were able to leave the hospital at about 11 o'clock the next day. In the meantime, a hotel was arranged for us for the day of dismissal to recover. Because we were fortunate to be able to continue the trip, Tanzania Specialist booked another flight from Arusha Airport to the Serona Airstrip Sergenti for the next morning.
Also that day we were taken by the driver to the airport in Arusha who also arranged all the formalities for us. When we arrived in Serengeti, our guide was already waiting for us and we could resume our journey!
It is unbelievable how much was arranged for us and how we were supported.
We are very grateful to Tanzania Specialist and their staff for that. Without them, things would have looked different for us. For us, Tanzania Specialist is the only tour operator where you have to book such a trip!

Spectacular guide and couldn't have asked for a better guide.
It was an amazing experience and our tour guide took care of us very well. We got to see almost all the animals up close and was an overall incredible experience. Worth every dollar and would definitely go again!

8 days with a personal guide, Mainer: great, friendly and helpful! Well organized trip, with lunches during safari, elegant accomodations. I would like to suggest using fewer plastic bottles, for example by using a large container of bottled water with which tourists gradually fill their water bottles. this would make the tour more environmentally friendly. Great experience!

The first and best Safari ever done. Castro the best driver
This experience has been fantastic. We did the 7 days safari with Hell's Gate, Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli. Every day has been full of emotions. We've seen a lot of animals, and with the driver Castro we did things i never expected. He's done all was possible to give us the opportunity to see the big five. And we've seen a lot of them. Excellent drive and excellent experience over all. We will never forget this.
the price is lower than other agencies and despite this we have been in excellent places, with a great van and valid restaurants.

Questa esperienza è stata fantastica. Abbiamo fatto il safari di 7 giorni con Hell's Gate, Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru e Amboseli. Ogni giorno è stato ricco di emozioni. Abbiamo visto molti animali e con il pilota Castro abbiamo fatto cose che non mi sarei mai aspettato. Ha fatto tutto il possibile per darci l'opportunità di vedere i big five. E ne abbiamo visti molti. e anche molti altri animali. Guida eccellente ed esperienza eccellente su tutto. Non lo dimenticheremo mai. il prezzo è più basso di altre agenzie e nonostante questo siamo stati in ottimi posti.

We had an amazing experience. Our driver, Charles, was very efficient and quite knowledgeable on the fauna. Every step of the safari went smoothly, and we rejoice everyday at the sight of beautiful Kenyan landscapes, teeming with wildlife!

Australia has had its bordes shut for too long. when they opened I thought big- lets go to Africa. My husband didnt believe we could afford it- challenge accepted!!!
I started with safari bookings. It took a while to find suggestions in the right price range with an itinerary that looked appealing. But then when I contacted the companies, requesting more details with some specific requests, some of the companies did not read and respond. It was rather generic. However the reply I received from African big cats safaris had listened and put together a proposal that was pretty spot on- right price, as promised on safari bookings, and the accomodation offerings looked lovely for the price. So we arrived, always a little nervous, that we would even be picked up!!
We should not have worried. From that moment I knew we had made a great choice.
We had Hubert as our guide, and not only was he very knowledgable but he was an ex mechanic and when a wire dislodged, he fixed it in 3 minutes!
My husband follows "mammal-watching" and is very knowledgeable, but Hubert knew more!!
He got us 48 species in 8 days and just seemed to know what my husband was hoping to see- he found us rhino in Ngorongoro, a side striped jackal, galago, an african crested porcupine, a ratel, a Sengi and 3 species of mongoose! I was happy with the lions, the leopard, the giraffes, the baby elephants the hippo walking, the crested cranes, and the hedgehog at one of our lodges! The mongoose were amazing!!
Hubert was great company and easy going as well. We travelled with our 17,19, and 21 year old kids and so we had organised opportunities to run, mountain bike, hike mt Kili, and visit the Masai in very remote West Kilimanjaro ( a real highlight). This broke up the journey. Our 3 are all determined to visit again and had a great time, as did we.
The accomodation was just amazing, and very good value. The people were so kind and welcoming.
All in all this was an extremely good value for money tour, from an incredibly slick company. They really bent over backwards for us, and we are very grateful.
Dont hesitate - just go!!
