5/5

Had an amazing time on our Maasai Mara trip with Topma Tours! 🌄 Our agent was absolutely fantastic..Max is the best!!! - super attentive to details, followed up throughout the trip, and made sure we had a blast 😊. Big shoutout for booking a toddler-friendly hotel 🙌 - made our family trip so much easier!
Would totally recommend for anyone looking for a stress-free safari 💫"

Horrible, be careful, it doesn't deliver the service you pay for.
1/5

Be careful, they don't provide the services you pay for. The conditions we paid for were not what they offered us once we were there. The water service, supposedly free, was a lie; they made us pay for it after the experience was over. The vehicle for the safari was completely different from the one you see in the pictures before we paid for the safari (the condition of the vehicle left much to be desired, and the one we booked was closed on the sides and open on top, and at no point did they provide us with what we paid for). You pay for a guide, and in our case, he didn't speak to us at all during the entire trip, nor did he offer us water all day (when, in theory, you're paying for a guide and for water during the trip). The only time he spoke to us more fluently was at the end of the safari to tell us his name and show us a QR code to rate him, in an aggressive way, as if we absolutely had to give him a good rating. On our first day visiting the Maasai village, we waited for over an hour, and when we finally arrived, they didn't even apologize. The food service was very poor; when we arrived for lunch, we were given a sandwich... They always under-served us. And they offered no solution. We want to claim a refund, but they haven't responded to any of our messages. We will not recommend Kihindo Tours to anyone we know.

Very serious agency
5/5

Carolyn was very responsive and flexible during the planning of our trip. During the trip itself, the driver and guide were also very friendly and attentive. We highly recommend Pallid Safaris.
The car was also very good and the hotels met our expectations.

A tailor made trip of a lifetime for us!
5/5

We found Wycleff after reading some reviews on Trip Adviser. After a few emails we decide Wyceff was our man. I communicated directly with others who had travelled with his company and everyone spoke very highly of their time with him in Africa.
We are 3 women, from Australia and New Zealand and had a trip custom made for just us. It was amazing. Just us in a big Toyota land cruiser, free to spread put and sit where we wanted each day. Our 3 weeks split between Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda was beyond our expectations. We had a different guide in each country, Onesmus in Kenya, Thom in Tanzania and Wycleff in Uganda.
They were all extremely knowledgeable, kind, funny and great travel companions. Even though we had set days in parks and our accomodation was booked, we had some flexibility if we decided we'd like to do something else on a particular day. We took footballs to give to kids playing with their home made balls and that was fun on our days between parks and accomodation. We had some big days driving, but what a way to see the country!
Our accomodation was fantastic, some could be described as luxurious to us! Very comfortable, and food was always great and plentiful.
Wycleff organised our flights to Entebbe in Uganda and that's where he picked us up. We had a great opportunity to see authentic living in Uganda and our chimp treking and gorilla treking was the icing on the cake.
Gorillas and Beyond provided us with an experience that we will never forget. Wycleff has a strong connection to his community and going with him on a trip like we had was more affordable and more authentic. No middle man, no glossy brochures, no relentless emails. The real deal. Couldn't recommend him more.

Widman Travel helped us book a Zanzibar to Mikumi Safari day trip. The communication was responsive/clear and the price was reasonable. We enjoyed the safari and recommend Widman Travel for families looking for similar trips.

Marifa is a legend with a beautiful heart
5/5

The Safari experience was amazing. Highlight to our guide Marifa that made the experience unique. He was very into the details and calm to making sure we had the chance to see the animals in different angles and more than once. It is a highly recommended tour with such a nice guy. Top Level!

Amazing 5 day safari with Max
5/5

We just got back from a 5-day budget safari, great experience with Meru!!

We started researching operators a few months in advance but ended up confirming only a week before starting the safari. We decided on Meru Slopes after reading the reviews on various sites (this site, google, instagram), they provided good value for money, seemed serious and reliable. We were not wrong!

- Pre/Post-safari: they were very accommodating and flexible. We found that not having to worry about hotel nights + roundtrip airport transfers was an added bonus and good value for money. The hotel is simple but nice and the transfers on time and with very nice staff. We also liked getting sim cards on arrival. These things made us feel looked after by the company and just adds to the overall positive experience.

-During safari: our guide Max was very knowledgeable and always took us to the best spots for finding the animals. We liked that he was keen to leave early and punctual in order to maximise the chances. He was respectful and responsible with the welfare of the animals and the parks - we were visitors in their home. Even with this, he made sure we saw all of the famous 5 and also the ‘ugly’ 5! The chef (Johanni) prepared tasty meals throughout, even for the picnic lunch - we appreciate that no plastic waste was created, as some companies seemed to provide fast food style packaging.

We will definitely recommend Meru (and Max!) to anyone looking to visit!

Great Safari Experience Working With Gitau at Tazama!
5/5

We had an amazing African safari adventure thanks to the efforts of Gitau (Antony), owner of Tazama Africa Holidays. We highly recommend working with Tazama, a local Nairobi Safari Company. This was our first trip to East Africa, after two previous safari trips in South Africa and Botswana. The East African safaris are a bit different than our other safari experiences in that our drivers from park to park were also our safari guides, rather than having guides from each camp.
Since it is such a long distance for us to travel around the world for an African safari, we decided to cover three countries and five parks over 16 days. We had three marvelous drivers/ guides, Moses in Kenya, Shedreck in Tanzania and Bosco in Rwanda. We also spent our last full day in Nairobi with Fred before our flight heading home. All our drivers were knowledgeable, friendly and kind people who we got to know very well on our drives across Africa in our trusty Toyota Land Cruisers.
Our accommodations were everything from safari tents in Tarangire to a 5-star lodge in Serengeti. Every park was unique and we had many special experiences from watching large elephant herds beneath Kilimanjaro, including old timer, super tusker Craig, who just recently passed away, the great wildebeest migration and a group of female lions taking down a zebra to feed to their 18 cubs and two large males in Serengeti, and an incredible trek into the high elevation jungles of Volcano National Park in Rwanda to watch a large 20 member mountain gorilla family.
Gitau was easy to communicate with by either email or WhatsApp. He made sure all our arrangements were taken care of. What an incredible trip!
