10 Day Wildebeest Migration Crossing by Lion King Adventures
5/5

We are two Malaysian families, totalling 9 pax and this traverse across Tanzania, starting fm Tarangire Nat Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti and back to Ngorongoro Crater was truly epic. We were immensely blessed to have 2 sensational guides Immanuel and Ozzie with us. They displayed professionalism and a high level knowledge of the land, people and wildlife. Great personalities, funny and very caring, tending to our needs 24/7 and they can sing too! We had so much fun, discovering the beauty of Tanzania with them. We saw everything - the big 5 inc the wilderbeest crossing and the elusive cheetahs. We are in awe and will never forget the wonderful wildlife and memories created on this truly epic expedition. Our hearts are full and we highly recommend Lion King Adventures.

Excellent experience as a solo (young woman) traveler with FEDE tours
5/5

Reviewed copied over from tripadvisor for simplicity.

However, I used this website (Safaribookings) in my search for tour companies and am very happy with how things turned out!

Thanks to the Safaribookings' team for managing a helpful, informative and reputable website.

Review:
Since childhood, visiting Masai Mara had been a dream of mine. I had the opportunity to make that dream come true at the end of a work trip in June 2022. I was going to have to travel alone, as a young woman, which was somewhat worrying for me at the beginning.

I chose FEDE tours among the many other tour companies. Arrangements for the trip were made with the help of Martin, who was reassuring and answered all of my questions.

On the day when I was set to begin my safari, I was picked up by Ephantus. The moment he greeted me with a smile and a handshake I knew I was in good hands. I am happy to report that Ephantus is a great driver (by western standards), knows a lot about the nature and culture in Kenya, and is very accommodating (e.g. if you are a quite person like me, he won't force you into small talk, but will also happily engage in conversation if you are up for it). He was an excellent guide!

Given the short amount of time we had for the safari (2 nights in Masai Mara), we were able to see a lot of species, really all the ones I could have hoped to see and more. Masai Mara is stunning; although, I was surprised to see this many tourist vehicles congregating around interesting animals sightings. I was very sad to leave the park, but am truly grateful to have had this unforgettable experience.

The Mara Simba Lodge was also good, beautiful setting and the food was good. Given some of the more negative lodge reviews (of Mara Simba Lodge and other lodges often used by FEDE tours), while a minority, I am not sure what kind of level of luxury some people expect given the fairly wild setting, but they clearly aren't appreciating the natural beauty enough if they are focusing on such things.

On the last day, before my flight out of Kenya (at midnight), Martin took me out to Nairobi National Park, which isn't as beautiful or pristine as Masai Mara, but also offered very good sightings of animals, including rhinos, which you are not likely to see in the Mara. We also went to the Giraffe Center and took a short drive around downtown Nairobi (which was interesting, but may have been the least safe I felt on the trip).

Many thanks to the whole team (I also briefly met Frederick) for the high-quality tours they provide and positive attitude!!!

A trip of a lifetime; life altering!
5/5

This trip was worth every penny and then some. The country and its people were amazing. Johannesburg and Cape Town did not disappoint, those game drives at Songimvelo Game Reserve (loved) and Pilanesberg National Park were simply amazing. Adored our guide, Lindo (sp) at Humala River Lodge and the staff was phenomenal. For me the Elephant Sanctuary Hartbeespoort Dam was breathtaking and educational and not long enough for me. I wanted more time with Timbo. But the capper was staying at Belle Maroc just outside of Cape Town. Best decision we made was to stay outside the city limits. The views of the city at night and Table Mountain were stunning and you are right on the beach. The staff and food were wonderful. So, accommodating; we wanted for nothing. When in Cape Town skip the bus tours and aquarium (small). Ask your guide/driver to drop you off at the aquarium for about 4-5 hrs and go shop The Watershed (amazing local artists and wears), walk down to the African Trading Post and shop COOL tourist stuff, walk around the marina and then eat & drink at Mozambik V & A Waterfront and watch the party boats coming and going. This portion saved my sanity after going non-stop the day before. I could go on and on, but there isn't enough space here for that. The entire experience with GoTouchDown was amazing. We plan to be back in 2024.

Excellent Tour Operator - Really let us enjoy our Honeymoon
5/5

I was really hesitant to book via a Tour Operator because I'd never done that before. I could not have been happier going with Wayfairer Travel. They helped customize the trip exactly to our liking, and everything was arranged and coordinated perfectly.

It was a huge relief to not worry about coordination, timing, the quality of the places we were staying in and just focus on enjoying our trip.

Helpful and friendly service

We were very happy with the lodging, itinerary, and flexibility of the tour. We spoke with Moses who was very helpful along the way as our dates changed. The lodge was great as well and we had a smooth trip in to the park. Highly recommend

trip of a lifetime
5/5

I booked the a 3-day Kruger Park safari for myself and a work colleague. After doing so I was nervous it was too affordable, and that he'd hate it.

I couldn't be more wrong. It was incredible. We saw 4 of the Big 5 on day 1, so kept thinking things would be downhill after that. Instead they kept getting even better. Our guide, Simon, had a magic touch that allowed him to find everything: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27FljjUGBJw. His depth of knowledge was really impressive--I enjoyed learning about the animals as much as I loved seeing them up close. ...that would all be sufficient, but the huts at Skukuza were great, as were the breakfasts and dinner Simon made each day

Colleagues in Durban were jealous when they heard about our trip. All had been on safaris, but none had seen a leopard. We saw two!

Good service but incredibly expensive - some costs could have been avoided
4/5

The service was seamless and prompt. Thought I felt that some costs could have avoided.

For example, I had a driver and car booked to pick up from airport and take me straight to Naivasha. After a night's stay in Naivasha, I headed to the Mara for 3 nights. The camp where I stayed had its own vehicle to take me for the game drives. This was not known to me as I was a first time traveler. Africa Keys car and driver stayed there for 3 nights in that camp AT MY EXPENSE. The guy and the driver could have gone back to Nairobi and returned for pickup.
By the time I realized it, it was already too late. I ended up paying for the parked vehicle and the driver for all 3 nights.

The last night stay at Nairobi wasn't great. The suite was a cramped one bedroom suite for a family of 4 , two adults, one 13 year old and 7 year old.
Considering the amount I paid, I was expecting a 2 bedroom suite.

Please be clear about what you are being charged for and the deliverables.
