Benjamin (tourguide) and Collin (chef) did an outstanding job! We had a great time with them in the Sergengetie.

Don’t look anywhere else if you want a trip of a lifetime!
5/5

I cannot put into words how great it was working with Sun Safaris when booking our South Africa trip. Natasha worked with us from start to finish and helped us navigate an unprecedented travel period in order to have the trip of a lifetime. From the guides, to the accommodations, to the activities, everything was spot on and we cannot thank Natasha and the entire Sun Safaris team enough. We are looking forward to booking our next trip with the team in the near future!

Far beyond my expectations! A wonderful holiday!
5/5

I opted for the mid range 3 night/ 4 day tour in the Masaai Mara and Lake Nakuru. I arrived very late at night due to delayed flight but the driver was there waiting for me to transfer to my hotel in Nairobi. Even saw a zebra on the side of the road near the airport! I was picked up again in the morning and taken to the office to complete my payment then in to the van. We had the luxury of travelling during the pandemic so were only 2 of us in the van but I don’t imagine it would have been any less comfortable if it were full. The van has obviously wear and tear due to being used for game drives but that’s all part of the adventure! Driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. Stopped to see some baboons then stopped again for lunch before heading to the Mara for an evening game drive where we saw a heap of wildlife in only a few hours. I stayed in the mid range lodges which were 4 star+ equivalent. Delicious buffet food for dinner and breakfast, swimming pool, very spacious, up market presentation and comfortable rooms. Then we did the full day game drive, this time with another 2 people joining us, so still acres of room to move in the van. But with the pop up roof even if it was full you would still feel plenty comfortable and be able to see everything. The weather was stunning and we saw more animals than I could ever have hoped for, with the only things of note we didn’t see were Rhino and Leopard. Then we headed the next day to the lake and early to the next lodge which was literally in the National park with views down to the lake and zebra drinking from the pond just in front of the restaurant. Again pool and beautiful rooms, this time with a menu to chose for table service. We then saw one of the missing critters, the rhino. We also went to another lake for about $10-20 for a short boat ride which was a nice addition, lots of birds and a few more animals, then I headed back to Nairobi in another van and the rest of our small group carried on to another park. I had a day on my own in Nairobi and then the driver collected me at about 2am to head to the airport. Considering all meals, all park fees, all lodge costs (minus alcohol), all driving and the airport transfers were covered by the price of the tour, it was an absolute bargain really. I was slightly apprehensive when I found out the van was 2wd but my word, our driver and guide (who can spot a sleeping lion in the corner of his eye from about 5 miles away!), he could take that van absolutely anywhere a 4WD could get. It was incredible. Literally the best holiday I’ve ever had and I’m looking forward to coming back next time with friends and family!

Amazing trip with Almighty Kilimanjaro!
5/5

Climbing Kilimanjaro was the adventure of a lifetime thanks to Almighty Kilimanjaro.

Our guide, Tuliza, was incredible - he was friendly and knowledgeable (with over 870 summits and around 20 years experience) and thus comes highly recommended. Do yourself a favor.

The company itself was transparent, trustworthy and attentive. They treat their staff well, and seem to be a powerful force for good in the community.

The food on the mountain exceeded expectation and the tents and equipment are in decent shape as well.

I would definitely advise; spending a longer time on the mountain for better acclimatization, packing an excess of waterproof items, getting a local sim card (there is decent signal at the majority of camps), and packing a variety of snacks.

Uhuru peak is a reward for a worthy effort. Go for it"

An Unforgettable Experience
5/5

My wife and I did the 4 day, 3 night Tamarind canoe trip, starting in Chirundu, and finishing at Mana Pools main camp. We had an amazing time, which is largely a testament to our two fantastic guides, Kenneth and Mano.

Because we went during the height of the rainy season (summer), the scenery was so green, and the clouds framing the zambezi escarpement were beautiful. The season made for great birding, even if wildlife was a bit harder to see (as it always is during summer/wet season). Only exception – hippos galore! Kenneth and Mano did a fantastic job of navigating my wife and I, novice canoeists, through the hippos. Nice to see, but not too close! One of the highlights on the river was navigating through the narrower river channels to put our canoe steering skills to work and where the bird life was really prevalent.

Both guides were very keen on safety, one always leading, and one always behind our canoe. They did a great job along the way of pointing out wildlife and plants and were very knowledgeable about both the scientific aspects of the surroundings as well as cultural relevance. They were very good about stopping for breaks to rest and enjoy the scenery. The long post-lunch siesta on day 3 under the extraordinary mahogany tree on the riverbank was unforgettable – what could be better than a post lunch nap under the shade of a mahogany, with views of a river/hills on one side, and the woodlands on the other, teeming with impala.

For each meal, Kenneth and Mano did a fantastic job – very accommodating to our vegetarian/pescatarian diets. In fact, a rogue tiger fish jumped and landed in his canoe – he kept it, filleted it, and it became more dinner! The meals were more than sufficient for the physical work of canoeing and leisurely post-canoe evenings in camp. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner time conversations with Kenneth and Mano before turning in for well-deserved rest each night. One night, when we started off without a rain fly, Kenneth and Mano came to the rescue in the middle of the night to help us put it on the tent before the rains really came down! Its also worth mentioning that each night at camp, they provided helpful reminders about camp safety, given that we were on the rivers edge, close to where hippos may be wandering.

All in all, an amazing trip. We were really lucky to have Kenneth and Mano as guides – they made the trip go off without a hitch and it ended up being the perfect balance of hard work (canoeing), rest (afternoon siestas), learning, and appreciating the amazing scenery in the lower zambezi valley. Highly recommended!

Great value for money, super knowledgeable and helpful!
5/5

We did a 6-day budget safari in Kenya with Lenchada Safari during Christmas 2021 and it was absolutely amazing. We started in Masai Mara, then Lake Nakuru and ended in Amboseli. We saw ALL animals we wanted to see, staying in great camps and our guide and driver James was SO knowledgeable, fun and really made sure we got the most out of our trip. He did make sure we got to see all animals and that we also got close and had a great view.
For this being a budget tour we got so much value for the money. Also the camps with tents and cabins were really cool to have stayed in!
Alex on booking was so helpful and informative, helped us put together and organize the trip based on where we wanted to go and our budget. He even booked train tickets for us since we could not do it prior to our trip!
I will definitely recommend traveling with Lenchada Safaris and would do it again if we were going back!!

Reliable, knowledgeable and fun!
5/5

Me, my family and my in laws (eight of us in total) had a fabulous time on safari - we travelled from Nairobi to Amboseli, then on through Tsavo West and Tsavo East and after 4 nights / 5 days we were dropped at the coast.
Prior to the trip Lennox was SO patient, knowledgeable and kind as I sorted the booking, the itinerary and he gave me great advice on the accomodation also. He barely flinched at the 20-30 emails I sent him as we finalised everything (and he replied to every single one!!).
We had two vehicles, and our guides, Robert and Ken were absolutely fantastic. My partner and I are keen on birds, so a target of 150 species in 4 days was set - and met (well, 148) as well as being lucky enough to get super views of Kilimanjaro, see lions, cheetah, hundreds of elephants, buffalo, various antelopes and a leopard tortoise!! Robert and Ken really know their stuff, and we had such fun on this trip. They made it interesting and fun for everyone and took us to some amazing places we would never have found on our own. The vehicles were in super condition - i have done a lot of driving in east and southern Africa and these landcruisers were super, and Ken & Robert were really solid, sensible drivers.
I can't really recommend Axis Africa highly enough - we all had an amazing time. Already looking forward to the next 150 birds on our next trip!

Excellent customer service, brilliant tours, exceptional client journey
5/5

What a fantastic choice we made! We are from the uk and decided to book our tour with a local African tour operator rather than someone from the uk who has never visited the place. The trip was booked pre-pandemic, however, all way through lockdown Megan from Discover Africa, contacted us regularly, kept us updated and made sure that as soon as the borders were open that our trip went ahead. We visited SA, Botswana, Namibia & Tanzania. Every transfer was on time, every hotel was excellent and on each safari we saw amazing things - including seeing the big 5 (although not guaranteed!)

Towards the end of the trip SA went on to the "red list" and we couldn't get home, what a relief it was to know that with a quick whatsapp call, Megan was on to it, hotels were booked and a tour of the Garden route sorted during our extended stay. Our favourites were Babylonstoren and Grootbost which allowed us to experience the diversity of South African nature.

The whole trip was an experience of a lifetime, the Serengeti, the Okavango Delta, Etosha, the Ngorongoro crater to name but a few places we visited.

In essence I would highly recommend Discover Africa to anyone wishing to travel there. I will most definitely be using them again. Great work Megan!

Climbin Kilimandjaro with Wild Ways - the best experience ever!
5/5

We as a couple climbed Kilimanjaro and did the Lemosho route in 7 days with Wild Ways. It was the best experience ever. Mariki gave us the best guide, Nelson, and a wonderful team.
At the moment we contacted Mariki and the company we knew that we are safe and everything will be prepared. They welcomed us at the airport. Brought us to the hotel. Organized for us the best guide and a wonderful team.
They motivated us to reach the summit. They cooked the best meal in high altitude. They shared their hearts with us. And they gave us unforgettable moments!
We came as strangers and we left friends! it felt like a family.
We can totally recommend Wild Ways Adventures, Mariki, Nelson and to do with them the Kilimanjaro tour!!!

Utter care and professionality
5/5

I traveled to Zambia with a friend in December 2021, on a trip organized by Kerry at Ntanda Ventures. I don't usually book with a travel operator but I decided to give it a try, and what a pleasant surprise it was. Kerry organized a one week trip that made us discover two of the best sites Zambia can offer: the South Luangwa National Park, and the Victoria Falls at Livingstone. In both sections of the trip, I really felt the attention to detail and the professionality of somebody who's been in the travel industry for long, knows the ins and out of the country, and knows how to handle unexpected changes a customer might face in light of the pandemic. My friend and I contracted a Covid infection just a week short of traveling to Zambia, and Kerry took care of rescheduling everything for us. On our way to the country, we read on the news that Zambia might put in quarantine, but Kerry was reassured us that it was not official news and told us exactly what to do at the border to have a smooth entrance into the country. Both the campsite at the South Luangwa NP and the hotel in Livingstone were marvelous and really made us feel us spoiled. Activities had been organized for us for every day, including game drives and a boat cruise, and we always had somebody from the two accomodations taking care of us, picking us at the airport and helping us during our stay, always with Kerry in the background for additional help. Overall, a great vacation and a great and professional tour operator. Thank you Kerry for your hard work!
