A Day Well-Spent
Overall rating
4/5

While staying at Rukiya Safari Camp in October, 2017, we enjoyed a full day's drive in Kruger National Park on the 20th. Our guide wisely had us up and out of camp very early so that we could arrive at the gate before opening hours. If you delay too long, you may find yourself waiting in line at the gate! With no queue at all, we entered Orpen Gate at 6:30am and drove east. Traverse in Kruger is limited to the tarmac roads, so sightings are limited to what can be seen from the pavement.* That said, there is no shortage of animals within view. We enjoyed sightings of cape buffalo, impala, elephant, giraffe (including a tiny calf), kudu, zebra, wildebeest, steenbok, hippo, vervet monkeys, baboons, and all manner of birds including white-backed vultures, a brown-headed parrot, and black bellied bustards. We enjoyed short stops at clean comfort stations (with lovely views) and spent our lunch break at the very scenic N'wanetsi overlook on the Mozambican border. The previous day's visitors were unpleasantly surprised to find the on-site restaurant closed (without explanation), so we planned ahead and brought a packed lunch. We enjoyed the remainder of the day's drive and didn't leave the outer gate until 5:30pm. To view notes and photos from my visit, please see https://sway.com/iceKprWZZflXVlQB

* The on-road restriction is required because Kruger allows tourists to self-drive. Staying on roads ensures that visitors are safe and environmental damage is minimized.

About: Tanzania
It was amazing, especially because of our guide Amani.
Overall rating
5/5

My husband and I booked a safari with Ascon Safari and it was one of the best things we did in Tanzania. Not only that the wildlife and the nature is stunning (really - it is such an unforgettable experience that you shouldn't miss, especially when you're from another continent), our guide Amani was the best! He was so knowledgeable and very kind - we have so much to be greatful to him, as we're sure that without him we wouldn't have had this experience, that much fun and wouldn't have leant so much. He knew how to find almost all the animals and gave us so much insight about the wildlife but also culture in Tansania. It is such an amazing experience to see an elefant, a hippo or lions just some meters away. On top of this we even were so lucky that we saw wilddogs, which apparently does not happen that often. The stay was really nice as well, very luxurious (maybe even a bit too luxurious, considering in the middle of the wildeness).

Fraudulent!
1/5

I was close to giving this company a Four Star rating but have to give it One Star. Cost me an additional $4,800! I have to determine is Felix is dishonest but can tell you that I have not received $4,800.00 in over paid funds. Upon arriving to Nairobi I was told that my wired funds had not yet been received. I had a confirmation but was told that Equity Banks LTD was holding funds due to the election issues that were happening in Kenya at that time. In order to continue I had to pay cash for the trip. Once the funds were received and released Felix would refund the amount to me. Once the elections had been resolved my funds would be released and Sardius Tours would refund me. Well the elections were resolved about 30 days later in October. It is now the end of January and I have to be refunded. The owner (Felix) continues to telling me to wait a couple of more weeks for good news. I have attempted to contact the Bank and the Department of Tourism and have yet to hear back. I will continue this fight but please be warned. Stay as far away from Sardius Tours as possible! Don't give them your money! Fund a more reputable Tour agency!

Safari and Killimanjaro trek far exceeded our expectations in terms of scenery, hospitality of the country and great accommodations at the lodges. All made more memorable by staff of AfricanZoom who were more like family. Had a lot of fun. Would love to do again.

Life Altering Experience
5/5

I contacted Compass Oydessy as an afterthought. I had booked a 3 night safari in Kruger Park at the Senalala Safari camp, and wanted to perhaps see a bit more of Southern Africa before I made my long awaited journey to the Cape Winelands. The trip planned for me turned out to be the highlight of my trip, and has changed my perspective on life and what I want out of it. Being able to observe wildlife up close on the Chobe River made me think of things in a totally different light when I considered my life back home. Mortimer and his wife were excellent guides to Vic Falls and they handled all the transportation and visa issues which would have been a bit stressful for me had undertaken to do them myself. I would highly recommend using Compass to anyone who is interested in exploring the magic of Africa.

Hakuna Matata: great tour and special attention to the customer!
5/5

We chose Hello Tanzania for 7 days tour in Serengeti/Ngorongoro/Lake Manyara/Tarangire.
The tour was organized by the extraordinary Mwajabu: a person very friendly, lovely and helpful; she suggested us the best itinerary for our needs (with lot of patient :D ), answering any question at any time!
We communicated with her before and during the journey with whatsapp.
The professional driver-guide, Jacob, was very experienced and caring, with him we had the possibility to see lot of animals and learn more about them and Tanzania. We stayed in the vehicle many hours per day and was really comfortable (the plus was that we were 4 people in a 7 seats jeep!).
Finally, Mwajabu also organized the transfer from/to the airport in Dar Es Salaam, even if we booked alone hotel and flights and was the 1st of January!
For the high quality of services, customer focus, experience and honest price: we highly recommend Hello Tanzania!!

100% committed to client satisfaction
5/5

In one word: amazing.
First of all the approach of Mwajabu: always available (really at any time during day and night) to kindly answer to our question and requests, before and after booking. It is impressive her energy, the sympathy and her smile and laugh that always goes with her tales.
Mwajabu was able to find a good solution for us in term of price, place to visit and accommodations. No other tour operator reached this goal.
Finally, our guide during the safari (Jacob) was extremely experienced both in finding animals, beautiful places and also in telling us a lot of very interesting information about what we saw. On the other side he was also very respectful about our privacy and he was really able to feel our very comfortable in any situation.
Really a great experience!
