Guide is key!
5/5

I found Axis Safaris through TripAdvisor, but got quotes from a few companies. This was a perfect budget trip, but "budget" only in terms of accommodation. The guide and vehicle were shared by seven of us staying at different lodges, and that guide is key! The only reason we saw so many animals was because of James' skill and experience. We would be taking photos while he multi tasked, managing the landcruiser (definitely pick the jeep over a van) over rocky, bumpy roads, while talking to other guides on the radio to triangulate where a leopard or lion was spotted! And then he would have to stop for gazelles or buffalo, or a mongoose crossing the road! Crazy awesome! By the end of the trip, we saw the Big Five, plus!

I definitely recommend Axis Safaris, explain what you want to do, where, your budget, look through the options - and ask for James!

Awesome experience
5/5

Bateleur Eagle Safaris make my solo Maasai Mara so memorable. My guide Jackson was very knowledgeable about the safari and where to find the game. The hot air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara was amazing. Newton helped me plan and answer all millions questions. The breakfast picnic was probably my favorite part of my trip. Overall one of the best experience I’ve had.

12 day Uganda exclusive_"Marvellous experience"
5/5

We did the 12 day Safari in Uganda covering Murchison falls NP,Queen Elizabeth NP, kibale forest NP, Bwindi for Gorillas and lake mburo NP.
it was just fabulous right from the start to the end.
Our trip went from amazing to a perfect one because of our guide/driver Nelson who was so wonderful and flexible at anytime . This guy made our trip to be unforgettable trip.

If you book your tour you should strictly ask for Nelson you won't regret it . Every part of the trip was just amazing .I can't say enough about Nelson because he's extremely knowledgable about wildlife, birds, geography, and culture and ofcourse very patient.
Nelsonn rilly cared for us and tried his best to make sure we had a fantastic experience..

Doreen planned everything and worked very hard to make sure we did everything we wanted to do in Uganda. During the planning phase she emailed me quickly and she was always available while we were in Uganda even when she did not have to .she also really cared that we had a great experience.

The lodges we stayed in we're very nice, the food we ate was so delicious as well!!!! We would like to thank Hail tours team for the perfect organization.
We can only recommend traveling with them in Uganda , all good !

Do not look for another company
5/5

I am a photographer and what I wanted from this safari was much more than it really was.
Although prices are generally close to each other, accommodation options make a difference in price, are tents? pool lodge? What?
The Lenchada safari was absolutely wonderful in the tent camping area, remember that you are coming to the safari, if you want a pool, the suitable place for you is the beach sides.
The guide who took us around on the first day of the safari seemed to disappoint me, he passed by the lion walking with prey in his mouth and did not stop. it was a terrible situation (remember this is about the driver, not the company) On the other side, she saw a family of lions in the form of a flock, she did not stop because she went there, I wish she had stopped :), We had a 5-day safari, they handed us over to the JAMES guide, as other people would return, and then it happened, everything was very good, freakishly good and colorful character, She must see you as her friend, not as a customer, she always talked about what to do with us,
While most safari groups saw lions once in 3 days, we saw 3 different lion groups and 2 different cheetah groups on the same day. Despite having a new child, she is very committed to her job and loves her job very much, Alex, the owner of the company, is a very nice person, even if you ask for help for something other than safari, she helps you a lot. I highly recommend you to prefer the safari in Lencha and to persistently ask for JAMES in particular.
If it doesn't match your dates, I think you change your date :)
If you take a tour in the form of a 5-day plan, it is very full for Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru in 1 day. JAMES was the only one who completely changed our thoughts and expectations.
If you want to go on a safari as a customer, look at other companies, but if you want to go on a safari with your friend, that friend is Lenchada Safari and JAMES.
Thank you so much for everything Lenchada and JAMES ;))

back to Uganda with Canyon safaris
5/5

After my first time in Uganda in 2017 l had the wish to see more from the country. I did in 2019. Not the west site of the country i was first time but north and east site. The east site is still complete unkown, but also very beautifull. Different. Very small villages. but also different animals and the animals do not see many times tourist, so they stay where they are on the road ( Warthogs in bit water on the road) and we must stop for them. Normaly they run away with tale up. Its a part from the country to go to. Together with MUKASA MOSE i made the plan. I got since 2017 a walking problem and made, no stairs. and easy walking for me. Mukasa look for right places and found them. On one place i got a problem , too far from room till diningroom and he made it we got room service and got breakfast and diner together on my room.
Can only say, thanks to him i had both years a very nice time and we visit the places i ask for and he found the best places to stay.
l told about what i read and should like to go to, Mukasa made my wishes EXELENT SERVICE. Together with him i made both times a wonderfull trip Not a trip you find in the books, but also with your own ideas

Unforgettable memories in Kampala, Murchison Falls and Bwindi
5/5

Sam is a very professional tourism expert who provides reliable and interesting information during the tour. Everything was well organized and he advised me with very nice and good value accommodations. He’s friendly and knows so much about his country. The Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi was just breathtaking, once in a lifetime experience! We had a great time at Murchison, saw many wild animals and the falls are beautiful. We also went to Bunyonyi Lake which is a wonderful and resting place where you can do many activities. The tour was amazing, plenty of great moments and unforgettable memories. Couldn’t recommend his services more !

Fantastic 4-day safari
5/5

What can I say? It was my first safari and it was awesome! Our group consisted of 6 people and we harmonized very well together. Our guide Freddy was in a great mood and responded to our wishes in the best possible way. The food was absolutely delicious and varied. The accommodations (two lodges, one camping) were well chosen. We saw an incredible number of animals and everything was there except for the leopard (we saw two cheetahs hunting). All in all a brilliant tour. Book with Solestours and you won't regret it. :)

6 day private safari- an unforgettable experience!
5/5

Me and my girlfriend went to our first Safari with Jockey tours in 2021 March. Upon asking for offers from around 8-10 tour companies, they have sent one of the best (and cheapest) offers, so we decided to go with them.

Communication, payment: we mainly communicated via email, and they were always fast to respond. They did not require any deposit, we only had to pay on the first day of the safari.

Program: We decided to go on a 6 day (5 nights) private tour. Our guide, Joshua (more on him later) picked us up at our accommodation in Nairobi, on time. Then we drove to Masai Mara, where we spent 2 nights, after that came Lake Nakuru for 1 night, then Amboseli for 2 more nights. They were quite flexible regarding the plans, and recommended some alternations in the program that suited our needs better. This program contains some long drives (3*6 hours), so be prepared for that, but we felt like it was well worth it. Our favorite was Masai Mara, but Amboseli is also a great experience, and a totally different landscape.

Car: We decided to go for the Jeep instead of the minivan (it was only a little more expensive), and was very happy with our decision. The car was in excellent condition, very spacious and comfortable, and offered some amazing viewing options. Later in our stay, we also tried a minivan (just for 1 day) with a different provider and that was quite a downgrade in our opinion compared to the Jeep, so definitely recommend going for the jeep, especially if you are a bigger group.

Accommodations: We've opted for the budget options, but in reality our accommodation were at least mid class, which was a great surprise. other providers only offered budget accommodations for much higher prices. All of them were comfortable, and we've received in most cases the biggest, and best rooms in all of them (this might have been because of COVID, and the lack of guests).

Food: Food was surprisingly good, but it mostly depends on your accommodations. The packed lunch (when you're on a game drive during lunch) was a little underwhelming, but we didn't really mind.

Guide: Probably the most important factor to have a great safari is the guide. Our guide Joshua was simply amazing. An extremely kind, knowledgeable, caring person. We had great talks during the long hours of drive to the parks. He was able to just about answer any of our questions (we had a real life Wikipedia :)) regarding both Kenya, and the animals, landscape etc. He helped us tailor the trip so it fitted our needs best. He made sure every time that we see all the animals we wanted, and also that we had the best photos possible! He really went above and beyond to make our trip perfect, and we are extremely grateful for that!

We went to another 1 day safari with a different guide and company later in our holiday, and it was a huge difference, which made us just appreciate Joshua even more.

Overall we were extremely happy with our experience with Jockey Tours and Joshua, and would recommend them for anyone looking for a trustworthy operator in Kenya.
