Affordable African Safaris
5/5

The place was very beautiful, and we booked the best company named as Frena Adventures and also they were very affordable. I went with my husband on a trip to Kampala Uganda. The amazing thing i seen was Murchison Falls, that was really amazing place to visit. Our driver was also very cool, he guides us in very well manner. I really appreciate Frena Adventures Service. I have one suggestion to the guys who are planning tour to Uganda , please book your tour with Frena Adventures. They was really amazing !!! Highly recommends them. Thank you so much for supportive nature...

Everything was Excellent ! Since they picked us at the airport, everyone very friendly, Denisse would answer all our questions, Simon was the best driver at Massai Mara, and Lake Nakuru, he was the first one to spot all the animals, our trip to Serengetti and Ngorongoro crater was perfect as well!

Excellent customized condensed trip!
5/5

I only had 4 days to spend freely in Uganda, but wanted to get the most out of it. Peter was very patient in proposing me several options, including flight, and finally made a very dense programme that included all the highlights I wanted to see, including Lake Mutanda, Batwa, Bwindi, Bunyonyi, Queen Elizabeth and even Kalinzu Chimp trekking. My driver Apollo had so many contacts that at each site I could experience the best of it. Even managed to get me to animals other tour operators could not! Thanks Peter and Apollo for these excellent days!!

Gorillas and Beyond...... our wildest expectations!
5/5

Gorillas and Beyond … our wildest expectations!

Myself and 2 friends, have just finished an amazing 14-day trip to Uganda with Gorillas and Beyond Safaris accompanied by the wonderful owner, driver and guide Wyclef Rushaju.

From start to finish it was a first class experience. Choosing and customising the trip with Wyclef was easy and painless. He even arranged to facetime us before we travelled so that we could ask any additional questions and get to know each other face to face before we travelled.

I’d never travelled on a private tour before but found the experience and personal touchs very enjoyable. The initial reason for our trip was to visit the mountain gorillas #bucketlist, but this trip included so much more with fantastic game drives, seeing the big 5 along with lots of other savannah wildlife, hundreds of species of birdlife, boat trips, the beauty of the landscape Murchison falls, where the mighty Nile forces itself through a narrow chasm, Lake Mburu and especially the people.

The tailored tour we chose covered a wide area and so we had some long travel days on red dirt roads littered with potholes. At times it was like a fairground ride but expertly navigated by Wyclef who managed to keep one eye on the potholes and the other on the wildlife. The plus side of travelling by road was seeing the beautiful countryside, driving through remote areas and seeing the real Uganda and its people. We found the Ugandan people, always friendly and smiling with shouts of ‘How are you from the children’. When you go take a selection of sweets and pens which were received both eagerly and graciously by the children.

Our accommodation was in very picturesque settings and very comfortable with staff who were always friendly and welcoming.

The gorilla trek was fantastic, and I would definitely recommend hiring a porter which supports the local community and to help you up and down what can be very steep muddy slippery mountainsides. I was worried initially about how arduous the trek may be but I am only moderately fit and managed so I am sure most people would cope. We trekked for 2 hours until we saw our Bweza group of gorillas. Coming eye to eye with these wonderful animals was amazing and I was lucky to watch an impressive silver back walk just a few feet past me. Certainly, a once in a lifetime experience. Although if I did again, I would be tempted to do 2 gorilla treks as I could have stayed forever watching these beautiful creatures.

Our guide Wyclef from the outset made us feel very safe and comfortable. He is extremely professional, knowledgeable and focused on ensuring that we all had the best possible experience (e.g. arranging last minute for a local dance group to perform for us to make our new year celebration extra special). He has a fabulous sense of humour and even joined in with our impromptu car kareoke which helped time fly on our longer travelling days. He enthusiastically answered our endless questions helping us build our understanding of Uganda its cultures and wildlife.

It was only when I was planning my Uganda trip that I read that Winston Churchill described Uganda as the ‘Pearl of Africa’. If you are thinking of visiting Africa definitely consider Uganda and I would highly recommend travelling with someone who started as our guide and ended as our friend, the ‘Pearl of Uganda’ Wyclef Rushaju from Gorillas and Beyond safaris.

Careless and perfect holiday
5/5

We have had a wonderful holiday in Kenya, thanks to Charlie's Travels.
We had very specific request (climbing Mt. Kenya, safari and kitesurfing in Diani Beach) in relatively short time period. Only because of the perfect planning and organisation by Charlie's Travels, we were able to fulfill these requests.
Our travel schedule was perfectly custom made, all transfers and drivers were reliable and on time.
The booked accommodations were amazing, especially the 'specials' in Nairobi (that we would have never found by ourselves).
During our trip, Emiel and Brenda were always ready for support or advise.

5/5

Absolutely wonderful experience, Uganda is a fantastic country where you can see different enviroment, landscape and amazing wildlife. The driver/guide has been professional but also very friendly and informative. The safari tour have been unbelivable and well organized. Accomodation in general very good. Food sometimes a little boring especially for vegetarians but in general good.

Fantastic trip tailored to what I wanted
5/5

I had such a wonderful trip with Shoebill Safaris. They were very accommodating of my last minute booking and changed around itineraries so that I could fit in both gorilla trekking and Murchison Falls in my short trip. My guide Ben was fantastic. Very friendly, easy to talk to and great at spotting wildlife. Cannot recommend this company high enough and I would travel with them again if I ever return to Uganda.
