About: Tanzania
Magic 5 days 4 nights lodge safari with AAA Express Adventures
Overall rating
5/5

Based on the great reviews on Tripadvisor and on Safaribooking homepages I contacted AAA Express Adventures 3-4 months before a private Christmas-safari for 4 adults from Arusha, Tanzania and everything was 100% from the first contact with the owner Jalala Ndosa. Quick and correct response to every question on the email. Excellent flexibility according to our requests.

A safari is perhaps one of the most expensive trips you make but considering the standard of everything that was delivered the price was absolutely reasonable when compared to other companies in Arusha and much lower than in you book via a travel agency back home. The initial payment was lower (20% of total) than what I could find at other companies and was made with banktransfer with no problems. Recieved an email after 4 days confirming that initial payment was OK. Did not want to bring a lot of cash (in dollars) on our pre-safari trip to Zanzibar and again a message was recieved just a few days after visiting my own bank that everything was OK.

A special comment on payment: We are used to pay with credit cards but sending substantial sums with banktransfer with virtually "no insurance" is of course a scary business. I contacted the company that runs Safaribookings homepage where AAA Express i registred and they informed me that this is the common practise and in the few cases that there had been any diagreements between a company and a customer they had always solved the problem. They also checked the "record" of AAA Express Adventures and could see that they did not have a single complaint since they were registered on the homepage. That information made me feel very comfortable.

From the moment we landed at Kilimanjaro Airport everything was exactly as promised with prefect timing. Transfer to hotel before safari was on time. Our excellent driver/guide Steven waited outside the hotel lobby next morning as agreed on. The Safari in it self was magic. Steven must be one the best guides in the area and has more than 20 years of experience of everything that has to do with the history of the National Parks (Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and the rest), the animals, the tribes and everything else. He was absolutely outstanding. And a real caracter. He could virtually "smell animals". From one moment to the other he just turned the wheel of the vehicle and up in the tree was a family of the famous tree climbing lions in Lake Manyara. One the sometimes muddy roads of Serengeti when lots of vehicles got stuck Steven took us safely to our lodge. When there was a long line to check in he arranged VIP-treatment and everything was ready in a few minutes. And the best with a safari guide, he just cannot stop looking for animals. On our trip back to Arusha after the safari he stepped on the brakes on main road because he spotted elephants and giraffes in a plantation. With Steven as a guide we saw everything we had expected and more. If I do another safari I will definitely ask for Steven. The bottom line is that from our point of view AAA Express Adventure was very serious, reliable and delivered what they had promised and att a very reasonable cost. I will not hesitate to use them again.

Great safari in unique parks

We had a great safari in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Lovely days in beautiful, green (!) parks full of wildlife. Good guide Felix made sure we saw all animals on our list and chef Aluti cooked great food, both at Savannah. Explorers, which we booked ourselves through this site, worked out super! Camping in Serengeti these days is sth different though, 20 tents and dining in a large cement block and taking showers. But we did have hyenas calling and passing through the campsite at night so we were satisfied in spite of the lack of a secluded logfire.

It was good but wouldn't do it again

The safari experience was good but the safari provider not so much. If you enjoy sitting on a car for long long ours, this is your kind of activity. We didn't do anything else than sitting in a car for 3 straight days. Not my favorite plan, need some more adrenaline.

We went on a 4D/3N safari trip to Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Both Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro were great experiences with lots of animals and beautiful nature! Serengeti on the other hand was a bit disappointing in our opinion. Not many animals and the roads were not good. Beautiful nature though.
We chose tented camps which was a different but great experience as well. Close to animals.

5 days, 4 nights custom Kruger safari
5/5

Incredible safari experience:
- Very quick and easy communication with Thale throughout the entire booking process
- Chris and Lungi were amazing guides with great "bush eyes" (as they call them) to spot even small animals and animals far away from our vehicle. They also demonstrated fantastic knowledge of plants, all the animals and the ecosystem as a whole
- Lungi's cooking on a braai was phenomenal; we definitely did not expect to eat this well on our safari!
- Accommodation was comfy and big enough, and we definitely recommend trying out Tamboti Tented Camp instead of just Skukuza or Satara.

We would definitely book again with Wild Planet Safari

An amazing holiday unlike anything I have ever experienced before!

We went with Meru Slopes in the recommendation of another friend who traveled with them in May.

Meru Slopes made everything very easy from start to finish. Everything from airport pickup to accommodation before and after our safari was covered which made things super easy.

On safari our guide Iddie went above and beyond to find us all the animals. We saw literally every African animal I wanted to see.Our cook Richard also prepared delicious food every day.

I can't recommend these guys enough. Overall it was a great experience and I'd love to go with them again. If I can make one recommendation, I suggest doing a four day safari of only Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Without the standard 4 day you only have a short time in Serengeti and it's not really enough.

Very organized and value for money

I’m a Kenyan in Australia. Went to Dubai and Abudhabi over winter holidays . The emirates plane was just Bonfire Adventures customers. It was a charter. Bonfire I’m so proud of you. This didn’t seem like a Kenya owned company. Our tour was so well organized. Stayed at Radisson and crown plaza . Bonfire staff Annette made sure we had a blast.
Did desert Safari , dinner cruise and we were over 200 customers and all of us enjoyed.
The thrilling desert Safari was the climax of all. I Made many friends and networked a lot with Kenyan people on the group. I felt homesick.
These guys are thorough.
Everything went as per plan.
