Reny Safaris brought to life a trip we could only imagine.
We had a great experience working with Reny Safaris. Japheth was our contact person and was an excellent communicator. He was flexible with dates and helped to make sure we had everything we needed before we arrived in Kenya. He continued to check in throughout our 10-day tour to ensure we were having a great trip and even arranged a driver for an extra day we spent in Nairobi after the tour. Elisha was the perfect guide for us. He was friendly, dependable, and sought out experiences. He also allowed us to make the trip our own, not pushing a specific agenda. The trip would not have been so amazing without him there. We stayed at 4 different lodgings, each with ample comfort and delicious food. There was plenty of bottled water in the van to keep us hydrated while on the road and on safari. Over the 6 days of the safaris we saw the big 5 as well as a multitude of other animals, identified by name for us by Elisha. We saw some special areas like springs and lava rocks, too. We spent 3 days at Diani beach, a beautiful, relaxing way to cap the tour. The express train back to Nairobi was a fun experience. I highly recommend Reny Safaris and the 10-day tour. It was a great value for the support, no-stress planning and travel, and wonderful tour.

Amazing, Personable, Knowledgeable ... JUST DO IT!
I can’t express enough gratitude to Ebonie, Fortunatus and their team for making our first trip to the continent an unforgettable experience. My husband and I traveled to Dar es Salaam, Nyerere National Park for safari and Zanzibar for 10 days in late July 2023 for my 40th birthday and our wedding anniversary. We are based in the east coast of the U.S. and kept our young child with family at home while we jumped into this adventure.
When we began planning, the Duteni team was very transparent about our options, supported us with the itinerary and flights, and helped us get a sense of the excursions that would meet our budget. They communicated with us by email and we held zoom calls to meet them and the team. They also were available when we had questions and would respond within 24 hours, mostly due to the time difference. They also provided lots of information and resources on visas, cultural expectations, tipping, etc. Because the team has a lot of partners in-country, and they actually stayed at the hotels, they were able to explain the differences in accommodations to manage our expectations and budget.
It's hard to put in a concise review how wonderful our experience was in country with the Duteni team. We felt like family. We were able to just enjoy the experience… all of our needs were taken care of. We traveled and transition from accommodations with ease. We felt safe. We felt like we could ask questions and really understand the country. There were many little things that the Duteni team did to add to our trip – they matched up guides based on our personality and interest. They adjusted the schedules and excursions if we wanted to explore something else. The guides negotiated with vendors on our behalf. They set up private shopping for Tanzanite with a local vendor. They let the hotels know it was my birthday, so I was treated with cakes and singing. And so much more that we probably don’t even know.
The guides were exceptional. They were experienced, genuine and experts in their field. Our safari guide, Tersam, had so much knowledge of the bush, the animals, the industry, current events, trends in climate, it felt like an encyclopedia of info. Because it was just the two of us on safari, we got to really engage with the guide and learn while we were there.
We left Tanzania incredibly thankful to the team, but also that we got to experience this beautiful country and people as our first trip to the continent. Because the Duteni team has knowledge of the US and Tanzania, they provide a bridge to explore the country with ease. They understood what we would be looking for, our tastes, and comfort level.
