Pilanesberg was a great time!
5/5

We had an enjoyable day thanks to this tour and our tour guide, Happiness. Pick-up at the hotel was easy, the drive was long, but enjoyable tunes helped!

We had a wonderful safari tour once we arrived at Pilanesberg and saw some elephants, giraffes, zebras, etc.!

Friendly and fast responding operator
4/5

We (2 people) booked a 7-Days private Lodge Safari containing Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha (Hells Gate Park) and Amboseli. Josef Muneeni from Parrot Safaris organized all well, and answered immediately if questions arose. Special requests were also taken into account. Overall communication was good. In the design of the course of the safari, the communication could have been improved at some points. For example, we were not aware that we could have switched the Morning Drive of Day 7 to Day 6 and then taken the early train to Mombasa from Emali on Day 7 saving us 5 hours of driving.
Joseph kept contact with us via WhatsApp all the time during the safari and checked whether everything is going well and I am feeling comfortable. Accommodation in Kenya was in very comfortable lodges with good facilities. Especially the lodge in Naivasha was amazing. All lodges hat nice pools and served a varity of good food.
Our guide and driver Martin was a great game spotter and explained all about the animals. He was supportive, funny, punctual and always organized our meals and schedules for best chances to see as much animals as possible. Additionally, he was a very good driver and knows bis car by heart. We can definitely recommend Martin.

An experience way better than expected!
5/5

I was quite careful when booking this tour because when it comes to safari, even the budget options are very expensive. I decided to get the most of it and booked a 6-day trip to 3 national parks. And now, I must say, my overall experience was even better than I would expect.
We were an international team of 7 in a minivan. It's important to mention something I learned about how the tours are organized - each one of us booked from a different operator and even paid a different price! Therefore, it's hard for me to say what really differentiates one operator from the others.
Maxwell, our driver, was really great! What stands out at first is his excellent knowledge. He had answers to all the questions and knew all the species. Driving in the national parks, especially such as Masai Mara, may be very challenging, but he (as well as our minivan) proved absolutely unbeatable. We were able to pass the most difficult obstacles on the way and after that our driver would even help other drivers. I was impressed how they cooperate with each other. There's no competition but a common will to provide the experience of a lifetime to all the participants. And we made it, we got the big five in just 3 days, and even more than that! Some animals would willingly approach us to even one meter away! It's just unbelievable how they do not care about our presence at all. And the sceneries of elephant or lion families right in front of my eyes, is something I will recall forever and ever.
In terms of organization, I can't complain much, because I chose the budget option. The accommodation was decent, the food was basic but alright. Just FYI, there's no air conditioning in the car even though traveling from one park to another is a significative part of the entire safari.
I only regret two things: 1) Our visit in Nakuru could have been longer. We were only chasing a rhino and as soon as we spotted it, we left. 2) Bottled water was supposed to be unlimited but on the first day of the trip I was informed that "unlimited" means just one litre per person per day which is laargely insufficient when the temperature reaches over 30 degrees Celcius. It's a very small expense for the company, so I think they could really provide what "unlimited" in fact means.
To summarize: if you think that visions of paradise in Jehova's Witnesses' bulletins are some kind of fantasy out of a child's imagination, just go to Kenyan national parks and see it with your own eyes. It's really there, on this Earth.

About: Uganda
Everything you’d want in an African experience at a great price

5/5

I lived in Kenya and spent time in Southern Africa and I can honestly say Uganda exceeded my hopes. It is currently the only country where you can almost definitely see chimps, gorillas and “the big five” (elephant, rhinos, buffalo, lions and leopards ). Murchison Falls was my favorite park but each had something to offer. QE river boat ride was fantastic and of course seeing chimps and gorillas was a life dream. You must be reasonably fit for gorilla trek due to altitude and steep terrain. People were wonderful, lodges and service were excellent. Plus small tour companies so you can travel just with yourselves (couple or even single) without breaking the bank. I would recommend Uganda to anyone interested in a safari (unless you want ultra luxury ). I’m going back.
