A dream trip to a dream country with the best possible service
5/5

We got the opportunity to combine a business trip to Windhoek with a private safari at relatively short notice and were looking for possible offers. It couldn't have worked out any better than with Five Stars Tours & Safaris: Despite the high season (July/August), Mandy Strauss advised us perfectly, answered every question and fulfilled our every wish - even those we didn't knew about beforehand. Result was a perfect tailor-made tour (self-driving) for us. Thanks to her personal experience and contacts, we had a wonderful combination of exceptional lodges and great gamedrives & activities (please be sure to book the day tour with BBQ on the beach in Walvis Bay!). On site we were welcomed and very well cared for by Andrew.
Mandys and Andrews professional and friendly service was exceptional before, during and after our trip – thank you very much!!!

About the landscape and wildlife in Nambia here only one word: Spectacular! We'll be back for sure - and then definitely again with Five Stars.

Trip of a lifetime
5/5

This was the trip of a lifetime.

We had a crazy mission. 12 days. 3 countries. Barely any notice. And as much wildlife as we can pack in! And the team did not disappoint.

Jolie organised the trip. She really understood what we wanted and built us a tailored itinerary that we just couldn't say no to. The price was reasonable for what we packed in. Jolie was always available and quick to reply on email or what's app to any question in the run up to the trip and she checked in a few times during to make sure everything was going smoothly.

So to the trip itself... We were met at the airport in Nairobi by David. David is infinitely patient and he brought us to see all the animals Kenya had to offer. When only the leopard was left on our list he went above and beyond to find one for us! We saw so many animals - antelope, hippos, buffalo, elephants, lions, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest and even some cheetahs.

A hot air balloon ride over the Mara was an optional extra and one I promise you should not miss. David had called ahead to secure us a good price and guarantee us a spot and it was one of the most breathtaking days of my life. Floating above a herd of wildebeest at sunrise and then having a champagne breakfast on the reserve AND a close encounter with three lions on the way to breakfast! David never rushed us no matter how long we wanted to stare at the baby rhino!

From Kenya we flew to Uganda, a country you cannot miss. We loved it and our next guide Harune. He made us feel welcome and comfortable straight away, answering all my questions from plant species to the history and politics of Uganda. He is an incredibly safe driver too. We had to do a lot of long drives over 'massage roads' and he was so careful the whole way through Uganda and Rwanda. As a nervous passenger, I really appreciated that.

We visited the gorillas and chimps in Uganda, another crazy experience we will never forgot. We did a lot of heritage walks and village walks here which I loved as we got to meet some locals and learn about how they used to live in the forests and how their lives have changed with the gorilla tourism. I will say that while our gorilla trek was not too long, the forest really is impenetrable and so good walking boots and long sleeves to keep out the biting ants is essential! You can pay for a porter to carry your bags and honestly this service wasn't expensive and they were really helpful to anyone needing a bit more support.

After Uganda Harune drove us to Rwanda where we went golden face monkey trekking. Another great day and a bit more of a trek which we love. The forest here is much less dense here than Bwindi. We also went to the Ellen DeGeneres Dian Fossey Trust which is the fanciest interactive museum I've been to in a while, all sponsored by Hollywood money. It's a bit grotesque but there was some really good interactive info about Dian Fossey and the work she did to protect the gorillas. Then on to Kigali where we went to the vibrant market and the genocide memorial. This was really moving and
an incredibly well put together exhibition.

For accommodation we opted for mid range. For the most part we were really impressed with the places we stayed and the food we ate with only one or two exceptions where it was fine rather than great. The cars were comfortable with lots of space.

Overall our guides made everything seemless and we could just sit back and relax and not worry about a thing.

All we asked for, wanted and more!
5/5

I started planning our celebratory safari and beach holiday to Kenya for all eleven of our family in 2019 - then Covid struck. 2020 was postponed to 2021 and then we finally made it in 2022. Throughout this long preparatory period, with many changes and challenges due to postponements caused by Covid, Paula Okello, my contact at Let's Go Travel, was brilliant - patient, understanding and extremely helpful as well as being an excellent communicator, nothing phased her. When we finally made it, despite a complicated and involved itinerary, there was not a single hitch and absolutely everything went off perfectly. Our two driver/guides, Simon and Alex, were fantastic. They were extremely pleasant and friendly with a great sense of humour and our five grandchildren just loved being with them. They were also very good drivers and have an in-depth knowledge of birds as well as the animals. The camps, hotels, and internal flights were fantastic and this trip of a lifetime will be forever remembered and not just for the wonder of our safaris and beaches but also for the outstanding, friendly professionalism of the great Let's Go team. So a massive asante sana from our whole family to yours.

Excellent Experience!
5/5

We had the most amazing time at nDzuti with Wildlife Encounters. Seriously, do not go anywhere else! We were out at the bush camp and loved it. It felt like an extremely authentic experience. The waterhole is very near the tents and you can often see animals stopping by. The tents were sturdy, roomy, and the beds very comfortable. It was nice having a shower and a toilet right outside the tent. The food was absolutely incredible during our stay. The safari itself was a dream come true. We were able to see evidence of all big 5, with plenty of viewings of elephants, lions, and so many other amazing creatures. Our guide Justin was exactly who you would want for the experience. He is extremely knowledgable and provided top notch service. The camp is intimate and we were able to get to know other guests during our stay. Can’t recommend them enough!

The guide was outstanding the operator very reliable and very helpful
5/5

We had a five tour through the Kruger, the operator also organized a connecting provider who brought us form the Kruger to St. Lucia. Everything was in time, the hotels were clean and comfortable, the food was good and tour overwhelmingly beautiful. Simon, our guide, did an outstanding job. He was very knowledgeable, very kind and had an excellent view for the game. I can wholeheartedly and without any reserve recommend this operator.

We had great experience with Twinkle Star Tour
5/5

We booked the 12-days tour with James (Twinkle Star Tours). We were a group of 12 people with 4 vehicles. James greeted us in the morning at the hotel where we stayed overnight. Our drivers also picked us up from there after the the greeting. Drivers were on time every day. The transfers from Kenya to Tanzania and back went smoothly. The experiences in both countries were great. Twinkle Star Tours exceeded our expectations, highly recommend Twinkle Star Tours for next booking. James also came to the airport at the end of the trip with his two daughters with some farewell gifts for everyone. Thanks for your attention to details in planning, James!
