Fantastic trip - amazing scenery & wildlife. Loved it!
Visited Tanzania in earlier this year as part of a longer trip to East Africa and loved it. We wanted to do a drive safari from Dar es Salaam so the main parks were not an option, but the 3 parks we visited completely exceeded our expectations and loved them all - Mikumi National Park, Nyerere National Park and Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Our safari was in late March 2023 so there were quite a few rain showers and the weather was overcast at times, but that was actually a blessing as we got to see the greenery of the national parks and they were much quieter than during dry season.
As a slightly smaller national park, we were able to see most of Mikumi National Park and all that it has to offer. The scenery is stunning with open plains and mountains in the distance. Absolutely gorgeous for sunrise & sunset and Salum from Shanga Tours made sure that we saw all the wildlife the park had to offer. The accommodation in the park was basic, but very clean and the food was fantastic! Second night we stayed in Camp Bastian close to Mikumi which was a little piece of paradise.
Our hike in Udzungwa Mountains was amazing - we walked to the Sanje waterfall and were able to swim in the pool below them - a welcome break from sitting in our jeep for the previous 2 days. It was just over an hour each way from Mikumi and the hike took around 2-3 hours round trip so around a half day in total, but definitely worth it & actually wish we could have spent more time there, doing some of the longer hikes. Would really recommend visiting if you have the time as it was so different to the other national parks we visited and our guide gave us a great overview of the park & its wildlife (we even saw some of the endemic red colobus monkeys). Its also much quieter than the other parks - we were the only tourists on our hike that afternoon.
The final 2 days of our safari were spent in Nyerere National Park and again, credit to Salum at Shanga as we saw pretty much all the wildlife we could in the park. Scenery in Nyerere is really different than Mikumi, but no less stunning - including open plains, forests and wetlands. We did a sunset boat ride on the Rufiji river and got to see hippos at their most active! We stayed in Nyerere Tented camp, near the Mtemere Gate and it was amazing - the tents are much more luxurious than we expected and the food / communal spaces really made it a fantastic visit to Nyerere.
We spent a couple of days in Zanzibar at the end of our trip. It was rainy season so we stayed in Stonetown rather than head to the beached and really enjoyed our stay. Stonetown has a lot to see and do and it was easy to fill our two days there with good food, culture and historical sites.
Overall, we had a great time in Tanzania & would really recommend it. Would love to go back to visit some of the other parks and to spend some time Zanzibar in the dry season!

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and engaging.
I really enjoyed this tour. The operator was very communicative during the entire booking process up until the tour. She even met us at the hotel to collect payment which was very reasonable for level of service and vehicle provided for the tour and personally introduced us to our tour guide . The tour guide knew the lay of the land and where to find the animals. He gave detailed explanation on the animals. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience touring the manor sites in Nairobi.

Amazing experience, well organised and lovely staff.
The Safari itself and tour guide (Joseph) was amazing, as well as the breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked by the chef (Moodie) We got picked up from the airport and taken to a night’s accommodation ready to start the Safari the morning after, everything was very well organised and arranged. We managed to see all the big 5 and plenty more wild animals up close. We camped in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. Would definitely recommend!!

Awesome trip
Our Makario Safaris guide, Vincent, was lovely and very informative, and our whole experience was amazing. The trek to see the Gorillas was hard (even the "easy/medium" rated trek), but the time with the Gorillas was an awesome experience that ore than made up for that. Our tour also included a visit to the cultural village which was a lot of fun, and a visit to the Genocide Memorial which was sobering but rewarding and a trip to an art co-operative run by an orphan of the genocide. The whole tour was well organised - from the time we were first met at the airport customs area for our pcr test at the start, to being assisted at check-in for our flight when we left. Thank you!

Offer good customer service
My Family and i booked with Mtango Safaris & Tours since 2019 but since Corana came, we postponed our Journey and our money was refunded. That is why we decided the year 2023 again to use Mtango Safaris because our money ist secured.
In Februar 2023 we realy enjoyed our visit in Tanzania, because they arranged for us nice Accommodation, nice food and Tour Guide explained us deeply about Animals and the culture as well. The Tour Guide was also friendly to our Children. Next year my Family and i will visit again Tanzania and we have already decided to use Mtango Safaris.

perfect planning
Our family of 4, 1 adult, 2 teens, 1 child did a 6 night/7 day safari in the Kalserie and Sabi Sands Reserves and it was one of the most amazing experiences we have ever had. From the beginning, Ilaria with Wild Wings Safari was very helpful and was always willing to answer my (many) questions. The trip was perfectly organized. Ilaria understood what we wanted and put together the most amazing itinerary. The lodges she recommended were both superb (Simbavati Waterside and Dulini Leadwood). Ilaria even gave me her private phone number so we could reach her on May 1st, which was a day off, in case we needed to. Great service. Strongly recommend.

An incredible experience!
My husband and I visited Amboseli with Sammie as our guide and driver in May 2023. He was incredibly professional and experienced. Communications and coordination were very easy and clear. He has 13 years of experience as a guide and is very knowledgable about the parks. We truly had an unforgettable experience and are grateful to Sammie for making this possible! we will definitely be back as Sammie was a wonderful host and a pleasure to get to know!

The staff were professional, friendly, punctual and highly organised.
This service is good value for money and having a charging point for my cell phone was handy. The only neagtive things is that the seats are a bit cramped and not comfortable. However, I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
He was excellent and so friendly and very very professional...
I've been using safarilink for a very long time now and they are excellent and professional all the drivers are very friendly.. I would recommend them to anyone..
