In general there were no major problems. The driver was knowledgeable. Accommodation was very good. It was a good value tour.
My only recommendation for this operator is to improve its communication. As a traveler it is always good what to expect in terms of date, times and payments. In this area they partially met my expectations.

I planned a solo safari with very short advance and budget restrictions. Thanks to Ivon and Ayo Jenga I was able to live this great experience. Ivon planned all the transfers, so I had an smooth travel even using bus and drivers. I was worried about arriving to Dar at 3am, but I felt safe at every moment. Victor, my guide at Mikumi was very professional and I really enjoyed the 2 games. I felt lucky to see so many animals and specially about the lions. He explained about animals behaviour. I would recommend them.

The tour started right on time and my guide, Thomas, was a fantastic companion for the day. We have done the whole programme in a way that accommodates for your needs (for example, spending more time in the Apartheid Museum, to really view all the exhibition) and being flexible when we were seeing other sight! Kenya is amazing, if weren't for so many people
I went to Kenya for the first time, having only been to Tanzania about 15 years ago. The Mara was great and I saw lots of game, but there were many vehicles, even though I went in the off season (early January). 20 vehicles every time saw a leopard...
I still had a great time, but the experience is certainly a lot less wild than other parts of Africa I've been to in recent years

Daniel, at Transtrek, organised a safari for me and my group (14 in total) to Kenya. He customised one of Transtrek's standard tours, increasing our number of days in the Samburu and Masai Mara.
We communicated from January to November almost weekly, to ensure everything was organised , down to the smallest detail (activities, celebrating one of the group's birthdays etc). Nothing was too much trouble. I was very happy with the level of communication and service from Daniel. And I felt that the tour was definitely good value for money.
Our 3 drivers were there at Nairobi Airport to greet us, when we arrived from the UK. And they looked after us for the whole time. there was alot of driving and game drives, which they handled well with good knowledge.
The tour was just as I had planned and the whole group enjoyed their safari immensely (some were new to Kenya and others had been on safari before).
I would definitely recommend Transtrek, as a company and would hope to use them again in the future!
