The most perfect honeymoon experience thanks to Heidi & Pembury Tours!
My husband and I recently returned from the THE MOST PERFECT honeymoon trip to South Africa, and we know for sure that it is due to the work of Heidi and of Pembury Tours that we had such an incredible experience.
I worked with Heidi planning my honeymoon for almost 3 years. Due to COVID, our original wedding and travel plans were rescheduled, cancelled, and rescheduled again and again. Every single time we were forced to make the decision to postpone, Heidi was positive, supportive, and still remained excited about the event and the opportunity to make our dreams a reality even with a new date. She would tell you that by the time our honeymoon finally arrived, she was more excited than we were!
Every single part of our trip that Heidi touched was perfect- from the several itinerary options that she versioned for us at the beginning all the way through the final airport transfer on our way home. She paid meaningful attention to our goals and our ideas about what we wanted to see/do/experience, created itineraries to choose from, and responded to our thoughts and feedback to design the perfect trip, as if she was reading our minds. The pre-event communications and preparation were exceptionally helpful to frame our experience, and the packet and details that met us upon our arrival in the country continued everything we could need (and more!) to orient ourselves to our trip.
Throughout the trip, Heidi checked in via WhatsApp, and even communicated with some of our parents to help organize some ‘secret’ surprises for us along the way. And our parents have more wonderful things to say about her help organizing some meaningful gifts that were delivered to us at the perfect time!
I was such a relief to literally just sit back and relax, and let Heidi’s planning or organization take control. The tour guides, the transfers, the check in process at each of our locations, etc.- was all expertly organized. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing the whole time!
My husband and I are eager to be ambassadors for both the beautiful country of South Africa, as well as Pembury Tours. We could not have had a better trip, and have Heidi to thank for being at the helm of it all!

Silas put together a wonderful 4 day 3 night luxury package at Sarova Mara camp in the Maasai Mara. It was the trip of a lifetime! Silas was very responsive via email and what’s app. His bid for our luxury air package was very competitive and was an excellent value. He met us at our lodgings and personally escorted us to the flight out of Wilson airport and he was there to pick us up on the return journey and drop us at our accommodations. I cannot say enough good things about his friendly and efficient service! He’s the best!

Simply Amazing
As monkeys are my favorite animal, we wanted to do the Chimpazee and Gorilla Trekking in Uganda and found Achieve Global Safari Tours online. From the first moment on I have to say, that I felt completely secure with the way how everything is managed and organised. We have been in constant contact with Jolie from the office 2 to 3 months prior our trip. She was always helpfull with any questions, requirements and/or changes around the tour. Also (in times like these) super helpfull with all questions regarding Covid-19 updates! ;) Her reply was usually within 24h and very professional.
Finally arriving in Uganda, we were picked up from our Hotel very punctual in the morning from-no joke- one of the best drivers I have ever met in my life. If you have been to Uganda/Africa before, you know what I mean by the term "african roads". Especially at raining season/end of rain season. We had some different drivers around our Africa trip, but this guy, let me tell you: If you want to feel safe, on "african roads" and even have a lovely open guy with Eagle eyes, to give you the best guid, ask for Abdallah!! :-D Great conversations about God, life and the world, a lot of fun in the car and during the long drives with music, info and laughter! He has Eagle eyes, which made us just relax during our Safari Game drive, because if there would be anything in the bushes, he would spot it, haha. He always got us safely from A to B and made sure that we are taken care of properly.
They managed to get us an PCR Test for our next flight, and have been punctual all threw the program.
All in all we had one of the best experiences and miss Uganda and Abdallah already! And hope we have the chance to come back soon! ❤️
Some info for the tour:
- If you have a music box, take it with you for the car drive, as they can get very long (depending on how many days of Safari you do. We had a 6 day programme which was full from day to night, but we wanted it like that...) ;-)
- The WiFi doesn't work a lot of times, doesn't matter in what Lodge you are staying, it is just bad signal in the mountains, so be aware of that. We had a small portable WiFi, which was working better, but still not perfect. If you plan a longer stay, I would even recommend to get a Uganda simcard for your stay.
- We traveled end of April/start of May. We have been very lucky with the weather, while it is still rain season, but the roads are sometimes very damaged and the rains can catch you any time.(But with Abdallah no problem!

Very well organized your company with a heart for nature and animals
We did a 5 day safari tour with our tour guide Fred and it was amazing. Everything was well organized: the pickups, accommodation, food (delicious) and we get to learn all about the animals. The company responds very quickly in case of additional questions and goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Thanks Fred and Suricata Safaris for making this an unforgettable trip!

Africa Beast Safaris were timely, positive, and we had an amazing experience working with them.
Simon was amazing with my million questions and always communicated well and made sure I felt comfortable with and knew what was going on. The value for the money was amazing, he was always there when he said he would be and helped us feel very comfortable. We booked a 3-Day Chobe tour as well as a few other activities in Victoria Falls per his recommendations and were blown away with how good everything turned out. Without Simon our trip would not have been as good. He gave us plenty of advice and tips for the area and even took some pictures of us at some of the activities when he dropped us off. Amazing customer service and highly recommend working with them.

Absolute Amazing African Adventure
We participated in a drawing at Gay Days back in 2017. We were contacted and decided to book the tour to mark our 20th year together and our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We’ve gone through a few different people handling various portions of the trip. Everyone tried to make us happy.
Touchdown handled the airfare and all aspects of the tour. We were pleased with the easy payment plan that fit our budget. Sadly I understand the 5 year plan isn’t available for future travelers. However they will work with you to make your Adventure in South Africa is a memorable one.
I will write a separate review of the tour itself at another time. For now know that Go Touchdown’s staff in Sarasota, FL is there for you.
Could they have have done more. Perhaps a few little things that should be improved. Adapters that said they were for Africa weren’t. So perhaps a brand recommendation or make them available through Touchdown. Also I don’t recall seeing a reference to a limit on ATM withdrawals to 3000 Rand per card per day. I also suggested they provide us with a cheat sheet of some local languages for staff members so we could say hello, goodbye, please and thank you in Swazi, Zulu or one of the other 9 languages. All little things.
Rest assured they have the big items nailed down! They even mark birthdays and anniversaries.
We will always.remember the work Angie, Deborah, Natasha, Deon, Joseph, Bakkies, Thabo, Bill, Rosemarie, Tandi, Buffalo Soldier and Anisa did for us. We look forward to booking Cape in the future.

Great Safari with Kilitwende Adventures
This year we had the most incredible vacation in Tanzania. We went there on a 6 days safari with KiliTwende Adventures to visit the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire national parks also Materuni village to the coffee tour, Waterfalls and Hot-spring. The whole trip was a wonderful adventure, starting from the booking, the safari, to the trip back home. KiliTwende Adventures worked hard to ensure we had the most amazing experience of our lives.
Our guide very punctual; he welcomed us in a very warm and friendly manner. Guide introduced himself and told us a lot of things about himself. I learnt that he had been a guide for more than 10 years. He showed us hundreds of different animals. I discovered that he was very knowledgeable when he started giving us facts about each animal that we encountered. He was also very patient with us when we insisted on taking a load of pictures with every animal we saw.
I almost forgot to thank KiliTwende Adventures for booking us in amazing camps and lodges where we spent our evenings after the day game drives. They were very comfortable and beautiful places to rest
