It was very dusty, particularly in the evening when all cars have to leave the park. You cannot leave the roads which makes spotting more difficult compared to Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara. The elephants, on the other hand, were very impressive.

The sunrise in the morning was amazing looking down from the lodge to the lake. We saw lions with cubs, rhinos and many birds. It is just beautiful.

We were in the middle of the great migration and we have never seen so many wildebeests and zebras. We also managed to see lions, lepards, cheetahs and many more in a relaxed way. As cars are limited at a sighting, this makes it even better.

Very scenic park. Lots of baboons and monkeys. Beautiful scenery and forests but because of dense vegetation, harder to spot animals. We saw one elephant, a few antelope but mostly troop after troop of baboons.

Review about Ngorongoro Crater by Glenn Fisher
Overall rating
4/5

Ngorogoro crater is a gorgeous park with a unique feel all of its own due to its higher altitude and location at the bottom of a crater (technically a caldera - collapsed volcano). There were lots of wildlife everywhere in a relatively concentrated area. We saw a few lions, lots of buffalo, hippos, wildebeasts, zebras and birds. The downside is the park was much more crowded with safari vehicles than any other park we visited. There were at least 30 jeeps watching the lions we saw with us which is nothing like the relative privacy we experienced in the Serengheti or Tarangire where there were rarely more than 3 or 4 jeeps around at any time and often we were the only jeep viewing animals we came across.

Review about Serengeti National Park by Glenn Fisher
Overall rating
5/5

The Serengeti was wonderful beyond belief! We spent 3 days there and saw unimaginably large herds of wildebeats, zebras and antelope along with 54 lions, 4 lepards, a cheetah family and large quantities of elephants, hippos and giraffes. It is a vast park so be prepared to drive long distances but it is so worth it! We found animals all over the park and the scenery was breathtaking - vast, "endless" (as the name in Swahili means) plains of grass with low mountains and hills scattered about. Most of the animals here are so secure about their safety and used to safari jeeps that they don't bother to even move away when you pull up to observe them from mere yards away, particularly lions! Our accommodations all 3 nights were at the Nimali Central Serengeti and we had a great stay there. The staff was as friendly and helpful as could be (Carly, Ali, Peter and Emma). The facility was less than 2 months old when we arrived and although there was still some minor construction going on around the pool and site but everything was open to us and we enjoyed all the facilities. Our room was beautiful and we had magnificent views from our deck where we enjoyed relaxing with an adult beverage at night watching the sun go down.
