Fantastic trip of a lifetime
5/5

Afrishare provided us with a trip of a lifetime at a reasonable price. Our tour guide, Mosses, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, a good driver, had good language skills, very friendly and a looked out for our safety at all times. Besides showing us the animals he provided cultural activities as well. I would highly recommend Afrishare.

several setbacks that have occurred during the Safari.
2/5

On Monday the 13th, ten minutes after departing in the van from Nairobi, Catherine, an employee and intermediary of African Breeze Safari, informed us that we were beginning the safari in a different order without prior consultation with us. Furthermore, she mentioned that there was no availability at the hotel we had booked (AA Lodge Masai Mara) as she had not made the reservations yet. The contract explicitly states that we were required to pay 25% in advance to reserve the hotels (Payment made on June 2, 2023). Despite this, we were accommodated in Masai Mara Camp, which was significantly different from where we had paid to stay. We didn't have water for personal hygiene and had to purchase bottled water with our own money for brushing our teeth and even showering.

Additionally, we didn't have breakfast on the two days we stayed because the camp didn't have enough food for all the people accommodated. Two of our companions even had to share a room despite having paid for individual rooms due to lack of available space.

Due to the aforementioned issues, from the first night, we contacted Catherine in an attempt to find solutions and prevent the situation from worsening. However, instead of helping, she sent a message saying, and I quote, "please focus on positivity so you can enjoy your Safari."

As I mentioned earlier, we booked this safari 3-4 months in advance, paying 25% upfront to reserve the hotels. Therefore, this should have been arranged and resolved well in advance.

I would also like to note that none of the guides had our itinerary. On August 15th, we were supposed to have lunch at Nakuru Sopa Lodge, a hotel we had already paid for, but instead, we had lunch on the way at a self-service restaurant that was nothing like where we were supposed to eat. We arrived at the hotel at 8:00 PM, leaving us only time to have dinner and sleep before leaving the next day, not being able to make the most of its facilities (which is the reason we paid for good hotels, to enjoy the safari and also relaxation).

We informed our guide (Sam) about this incident, and he mentioned that he was unaware since he didn't even have the itinerary.

The following day, the Lake Nakuru safari was rushed and completed within an hour. We didn't have time to enjoy the morning and couldn't even open the roof of the car to better appreciate the views, as it was broken. Not to mention the multiple breakdowns of the car, which required several stops to fix.

On the same day, we stopped at a shopping center to eat, paying for everything ourselves, as the picnic mentioned in the guide was once again not available.

Amazing and very knowledgeable in what they do. It was such a once in a lifetime experience.
5/5

Lovely experience from start to finish. Wouldn't change a thing. It was so surreal seeing the big 5 at an arms length. Even saw Pumba from the Lion king. Lovely breakfast and lunch at the reserve. Drinks and Snacks throughout the journey was also class. Therapeutic experience. My wife and I were very grateful and looking forward to coming back someday with our children. Asante sana

Unforgettable Safari Experience
5/5

Our experience with Kanje grand tours has been amazing from the conversation to book our trip and making sure it suited our needs to the drop off at the airport. Edi our guide was outstanding- his knowledge of the region, the games, his energy and passion to show his country, we will never forget. Every details are what makes a difference. We will come back and encourage anyone to do the same.

Adventure of a lifetime!
5/5

I'll start our review with this: if you book a safari through Spirit of Kenya, ask specifically for Thomas. I guarantee you he will exceed your expectations.

Okay to continue...

Our first safari in Kenya and what an experience!!! In the first two days we saw more than we could have ever wished for. And that's because of our amazing guide Thomas. There are no words that describe his professionalism, knowledge, kindness and he was just the perfect guide and should we ever come again one day, we will kindly ask for him again.

You name it, Thomas found it.

Lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, buffalos, elephants, hippos and I could go on and on... we also had a couple of specific requests and Thomas was more than willing to help us or to arrange those things for us. Like when we forgot our travel adapter in Naivasha and Thomas got us a spare one during his time off, he helped us getting Kenya shillings as souvenirs...

We always felt very safe during our stay. Our 8 days safari was one of the best experiences of our lives.

Thomas, Asante sana rafiki yangu.

Hope to see you again one day.

Photos from a smartphone, will add camera photos later on when we sort the 3 thousand photos

Wonderful company to deal with and tailored the 14 days just the way we envisaged.
5/5

14 day safari tour through Namibia and Botswana finishing up at Victoria Falls. We are four older Australians who embraced all that was on offer during the tour. Our guide and driver Joram was so easy to travel with and quickly understood what we liked to see and do. Having a great sense of humour was a bonus for us. The variety of experiences was surprising: Desert living tours, shipwrecks in the ocean, ancient rock art, Himba tribes, Etosha safaris, river cruises and so many animals to be seen.
Highlights:
Lions leaving the waterhole at sunrise.
White rhino drinking at waterhole and walking towards the vehicle.
Honey badger having a sand bath right near the edge of the road.
30 to 40 elephants of all sizes marching right past our vehicle when they left the waterhole.
Beautiful mirror image photography of giraffe, zebra, Impala.
Hyena bathing in the water.
Finally seeing a cheetah but no leopard.
So many birds to photograph.
Chobe River cruise so special as finally got to see so many hippos on land including babies.
Elephants crossing the water and seeing the baby trunks like snorkels following mum.
Victoria Falls was stunning.

Excellent accommodation at all the places we stayed: some being high end resort others being small very personalised hospitality. Each day was a pleasant surprise.

All four of us had a fantastic time and would love to explore other African places in the future.

The Absolute Best
5/5

Wow, Just wow, what an experience! My girlfriend and I had a 5 day tour of Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater for a much needed couple’s retreat and it was nothing short of spectacular. We enjoyed top game viewing experiences and stayed in paradisiacal resorts in the middle of the wilderness.
Our Amazing time in East Africa was made possible by our guide George and the whole Extreme wilderness team. From the moment we got picked up from the airport, we were met with a friendly smile and a spotless vehicle. George’s enthusiasm for Tanzania and the wild life was so contagious. His eyes light up whenever he talked about the flora, fauna and culture in and around this grandiose destinations we visited.
We saw so many animals and managed to spot the Big 5!! George answered every one of our questions, even the very stupid ones, imaculately and always with a smile. His time management was also unrivaled. He definitely went above and beyond for us to have the best experience possible and we are extremely thankful to him for giving us the best time we could have ever imagined. And to top it off, my luggage went missing at the airport and George worked, tirelessly, to track it down and have it returned to me. We will definitely be coming back and we will be recommending this to all of our friends!
