Raw African Savanna, the beauty of the big five is stunning, the singing of birds itself a reminder
Overall rating
5/5

If one wishes to enjoy the unspoilt African Savanna, one must consider Kruger National Park. It's a buzz of activity especially during holidays. The experince is unforgettable: the wild bushes, singing of birds, the big five and many species of animal life. Remember, lodges can be full at peak periods, so book early.

unforgettable trip!
5/5

My wife planned a safari trip to celebrate my birthday and she chose Spirit of Kenia, terrific choice!!, I would do it with them again without doubt. Filipa was great during the planning stage offering different car options and hotels according to the experience we wanted. They passed for us to the airport at 3am and since the beginning you could feel the kindness of the service. Moses was our driver in Nairobi. For the safari Rafael was our guide and driver, he knew perfect the right spots to see animals in Amboseli and Masai Mara, he spotted all the big 5 and more than that, he was great to explain additional thinks about Kenya and their culture. We felt safe all the time with these guys. Thank you Rafael and Moses to make our trip safe, comfortable and unforgettable.
My only suggestion for the vehicle we used, pls repair the car window crank in the right side!

Amazing Experience
5/5

Hot on the heels, I decided to write a review about the company "Spirit of Kenya"
From the very beginning, the attentive Filipa worked with us, who answered all our questions, helped us decide on hotels and gave basic advice on what vaccinations we should get, how to get a visa and what we need to take with us on the trip. Upon arrival in Nairobi, we were met by representatives of the company and taken to the hotel, the next day we agreed with the driver about a trip to the Giraffe Center, along the way he took us to various iconic tourist places, talking about life and life in Kenya. This was our first time in Africa, we didn’t know what to expect and were pleased with the attention and care from the company, the driver did not leave us for a minute.
The next day at 7 am our driver Rafael came to pick us up, we upgraded the car in advance from a basic minivan to a Land cruiser safari, the car was completely at our disposal. The road to Amboseli took almost 5 hours, Rafael, our driver, drove very skillfully on the highway, one section was completely clogged with trucks and trucks. In Amboseli we stayed in the basic version of Kibo Safari Camp, a very pleasant, family-run hotel, with a large protected area, a large restaurant and bar. We were extremely lucky with the view from our room; every morning we watched the sunrise on Kilimanjaro and the rise of hot air balloons. The hotel had a very cool, kind, family atmosphere, many children and adults who did not interfere with each other at all. On the same day we went on a safari, where immediately from the entrance to the reservation we saw zebras, giraffes and huge families of elephants. Rafael masterfully chose the best positions, tried to get as close to the animals as possible and talk about the life and characteristics of each animal. Amazing experience. Next was a long drive to Lake Naivasha, where we stayed at the Naivasha Sopa Lodge. A beautiful, colonial hotel, I personally liked the zebras walking on the grass like cows. At night, hippos come to spend the night on the hotel grounds. Animals living on site are perhaps the main advantage of this hotel. The next day was a long drive to Masai Mara, where we stayed at the stunning Basecamp Mara. This hotel completely won my heart, comfortable tents in the very center of the savannah, where you are separated from wild life by a river on both sides and nothing else. This place is the best illustration of a safari, where you are a small part of nature, you can see baboons and giraffes in the morning, watch the sunrise and sunset and observe the wild world. At this hotel we were amazed by the representatives of Masai Mara; here the guys work at night, protecting the territory from wild animals. Amazing strong, fearless and noble people. The safari on the Masai reservation was the best thing that happened to us in all 6 days; we have not seen so many wild animals in more than one day. An amazing experience that I wish to live at least once in my life. We saw the "Big 5" lion, buffalo, rhino, leopard and elephants all in one place! I thank our guide Rafael, he is confident, knowledgeable and very calm as an elephant)) a comfortable person. The organization of the safari from start to finish was at the highest level, representatives were always in touch, an experienced driver, a comfortable car. We were absolutely satisfied with our experience, happy that we chose this company

Well organised and very friendly
5/5

The Tour was well organised and our guide Kevin very firneldy and funny. He Drive very carefully and we always felt safe while driving on the sometimes uneven, wet and slippery streets.
At the end of November we were able to see many animals e.g. buffaloes, antilopes, wildbeasts, cheetahs, crocodiles, elephants, giraffes, hippos, hyaena, zebra, lions and some more)
The visit to the Mara river with picnic lunch was also a great experience.
The tent was really big and everything was super clean - even if it was a bit older. It was definately worth the experience, if you hear the hyeanas scream in the night.

All in all a very nice tour. We would of course recommend it - Best to do it with the jeep.

Best value!
5/5

Tubale Safari was the perfect group for my first Safari Experience. Annette was helpful during the whole process, patiently answering all my questions. While the prices are very similar to other groups, they definitely has the most value, even on the choices of accomodations was much better than the other groups I checked that offered the same price point. And the Experience itself was amazing, thanks to Shaufik, and we were able to see the big 5 in 1 1/2 days! Challenges along the way are inevitable, but it was nothing because the atmosphere was always positive! Definitely recommeding this tour group!

Knowledgeable, Understanding, Reliable, Someone with whom we would happily work with again
5/5

Back in June 2023, we had no idea about how a Safari trip should look like and the only thing that we knew for certain that both of us have back issues and hence, can't travel between places by road. None of the group travel operators would accommodate this customization. While looking for a boutique tour operator, I stumbled upon 'Chalo Africa' and Smita's phone number from the internet. I tried my luck, made the call and rest, as they say, is an extremely satisfying experience. She talked with us over the phone, re-assured us that the travel is not strenuous and the hotels that she would chose would ensure that we get the physical comforts as we needed. I confirmed the package but honestly, we tuned our expectations such that we don't feel disappointed.
Now, after the trip, I would like to correct myself and admit that all the hotels that Smita and her team arranged for us just exceeded our expectation in terms of hospitality, care and most importantly, the warmth of the people, be it the manager or the guide or even the askaris would took us to-from the tents. We visited Amboseli (Elarai Camp), Ol Pejeta (Asilia Bush Camp), Mara (Asilia Rekero) and Naboisho (Asilia Camp), in that order. Each one of them were unique in their own ways. In Amboseli we were looking at the Kilimanjaro peak while lying on the bed, in Ol Pejeta we visited the Rhino Sanctuary, in Mara the Hippo hustled beside the tent at night and pooped everywhere and when we thought, we have experienced it all, the camp at Naboisho, just overwhelmed us with it's sheer luxury (not even counting the lions those roam around in that conservancy like street dogs in Bangalore. When you guide says "do you want to see lions?", it is better to challenge him by saying "no we want to drive for an hour without seeing one"). Overall, from the moment the Asilia person picked up from our hotel at Nairobi to the moment they dropped us back there (9 days later) we could totally focus on the nature only and not worry a bit about the logistics including the flights and all. It is a bit on the costlier side, but worth it.
I would like to conclude by saying that this trip has helped 2 people who had no idea of a safari and in not at the best of their health, to overcome their inhibition and fear and we are grateful to the whole of Chalo Africa team for that. Smita said that "you both will fall in love with Africa when you complete this trip" and we can shamelessly agree to that now. We are going back soon.

PERFECT EXPERIENCE
5/5

I went with my girlfriend and we booked a 5-day safari. Luckily for us, our guide was Alex. He managed to explain everything we asked, from plants to animals and curiosities about the country. Always willing to help and available for whatever we needed. It was without a doubt a unique and worthwhile adventure. We were lucky enough to come across 5 other great people. As Alex said, we were a family and he was Papa Alex
