Magical experience at Tanzania
Just returned from Tanzania. I climbed Kilimanjaro, did safari at Serengati and visited Selous, all arranged by Uhuru. It was an experience of life time. Highly recommended.
Timing: now is a rare opportunity to see the vast and beautiful parks in Tanzania, teeming with animals, without the usual high season tourist traffic. The morning I was at Ngorongoro park we were the only vehicle for 2 hours. Later I saw a picture of usual high season , bumper to bumper traffic with dozens of jeeps crammed together. I feel so lucky to be able to focus entirely on nature and not fellow visiting jeeps. The animals are very relaxed right now. I was able to watch two lion cubs for close to an hour as they happily ignored me and practiced hunting with palm leaves next to napping mommy and auntie. We quietly observed how one cub was always the first to get out of hiding, and find new objects to play, while the other cub readily run to mommy on any new source of noise like two children with different temperament. A rather different experience from usual high season, where up to a dozen cars line up for a quick pic with the lion families.
Travel safety: Tanzania did an admirable job this year navigating the pandemic. There was strict and effective procedure earlier in the spring. Now there are no new cases that I hear of; business are back to normal and school are open. People wash hands before entering business (water buckets ubiquitous on streets), but otherwise don't wear masks outside of airports. Personally I felt as safe, and certainly more relaxed than being in the US on pandemic concern. In broader terms, Tanzania has stable political structure and a growing economy; people are peaceful and friendly, the roads and facilities are well developed on Northern tourist circuit. It's easy to travel. In fact, I am eagerly looking forward to bringing kids and parents over next time.
Service by Uhuru: solid delivery of a 3-week itinerary. I was provided all the key ingredients for successful safari: exceptional guides, reliable vehicle, and fast response to questions before and during the trip. Can't ask for more. In particular the guide quality at Uhuru are consistently impressive- very important since you will be spending entire days with the guide who ensures your safety and shapes your experience. I feel lucky to work with the Uhuru guides and it's a major part of my positive experience on this trip.
At Kilimanjaro my guide was very focused on getting me hydrated and go slow to prevent any high altitude sickness, he check blood oxygen every day. He was thoroughly professional about safety.
The Serengati safari ranks among best travel experiences in my life, after visiting over 40 countries, thanks to no small part to my guide Meshalu. He is a soft-speaking Masai who always wears a calm smile. Meshalu has that rare combination of sharp eyes for wildlife, good knowledge as a car mechanic (more important than you would think), and genuine care for clients. We found every animal species there is to be seen on Serengati, and the unexpected bonus of a wild dog pack supposed to be extinct from the park. At meal time Meshalu has entertaining stories to tell about the Masai culture and wild life. We had a few unexpected moments in the bush that only added to the sense of adventure: at Lobo we were the only campers, as the sun set a lone old bull buffalo walked up close to camp. These big animals has a reputation for being unpredictable and more dangerous than lion (who are simply too lazy to deal with human). We moved into the kitchen with concrete wall, and took turns sip tea while watching the direction of the buffalo meandering in a glowing landscape under orange African sunset. The bull eventually left and I was escorted back to tent. It was thrilling without any sense of insecurity since I felt in good hands. On another drive we were about to turn back when Meshalu decided to take a bit extra road and check out some rocks- a whole lion pride was waiting there, watching us with calm and intense curiosity that only cats can do. Money just can't buy magical moments like this. I can't wait to go back and experience it again.

The team kept updating us about our trip and the citing of the wildebeest migration.
Dennis kept checking on us all through the 4 days we were at the Mara. Great room booked and our information was sent to the hotel way ahead before checking in.
David our driver was well informed about the park and we got to witness the Wildebeest migration 2 days in a row.

The best Safari Tour Operator in Tanzania!
Bartho the owner and his entire team at Serengeti Wakanda made sure we had the best experience possible, from the first communications to answering my many questions, to making sure the safari covered all our preferred locations at our chosen dates. Our tour guide and driver Andrew is very knowledgeable and a true animal lover, can’t thank him enough for all the info he gave us and all the animals he spotted for us. We even got to watch a lion in action! It was live a movie scene that we’ll never forget. Our chef Dula made delicious meals every day, including freshly baked breads and local Swahili delicacies. Bartho made sure we had plenty of Serengeti beer to wash it all down with. We travel all over the world and haven’t found such a professional group of people that love what they’re doing until now. I can’t recommend this operator fervently enough and I’ll surely use it again should our travel plans brings us back to Tanzania. Asante sana rafiki!

An unforgettable experience
We went on a 5-day safari with Deo through Tarangire NP, Serengeti NP and Ngorongoro Crater, and could not have imagined a better experience. We saw all of the animals we had wanted to see and many more! Deo always knew the best places to find wildlife and was skilled at spotting them. Many locations in the parks he took us had less vehicles present for more relaxing and intimate viewing, and he was always one step ahead of the other vehicles. But most importantly, he was very knowledgeable about the animals and environment, and we learned a lot from him. He has a true respect and passion for wildlife and conservation that shines through, which we really appreciated. He had a good sense of humor and made the entire experience comfortable and enjoyable. Deo will be the first person we recommend to anyone wanting to do a safari. Thank you for everything!

We had a wonderful Safari
We had an awesome time in Tanzania with Migration Venture Africa where we saw all the animals and much more than we had expected in 4 days of magical adventure. Epa our guide on this private safari for my boyfriend and I. There were not many other tourists I guess owing to C19 and according to Epa this was a plus for us and the animals with little distractions. Serengeti National Park was awesome tracking the wildebeest herds on the great migration, followed by lions, cheetahs and jackals. Ngorongoro was super too- we even saw 2 rhinos.
They organized for excellent accoms all round!

Exceeded Expectations
The safari Exceeded Expectations!!!! Great job by Nelson and the team to accomadate our every need at their bed & breakfast prior to safari and night after. They were very kind and welcoming people. Cooked amazing meals and made sure our rooms had everything we needed during our stay. Safari itself surprised me on how fun it was. The guides did an excellent job getting us within meters of all the big cats and all other animals. It was so good that I will be returning in the future with my family to share this experience with them. Thank you Nelson and team

The trip of a lifetime
Beginning months before our arrival in Tanzania, Lilian and the Zohar team helped customize our trip to ensure we would see and do everything we desired. Our guide and driver, Amhed was extremely knowledgeable and navigated the African Bush as if it were his neighborhood. Each day he would ask what we wanted to see the most, and every day he delivered amazing results. The tented camps, Tortilis and Chaka were above and beyond what we expected. Luxury in the bush best describes them. And if Ngorongoro is on your itinerary, I highly recommend upgrading to a lodge on the crater rim. From beginning to end this was a trip of a lifetime all thanks to the team at Zohar! Asante Sana!
