Responsive and helpful
5/5

Overall, a really great experience. I chose this company because I read strong reviews about Bildad - the tour coordinator- and his quick responses and ease at answering questions- especially before we left

We did the 10 day tour split between Kenya and Tanzania and I felt like we had a good value for what we received. You spend a lot of quality time in each park and it didn’t feel too rushed. In Masai Mara you have 1 evening and 1 full day drive and stay in an ecolodge with a private bathroom ( and hot shower). The drive to Lake Nakura is long and that park is the smallest but it’s all the best chance to see the rhinos- so worth it overall. I’m Amboseli we saw the top of Kili both days and so many elephants ( herds of 20 plus at a time). The ecolodge one Amboseli is also nicer than we anticipated and the food here was one of our favorites.

The tour also supported us with the border crossing to Tanzania and it was much smoother then I thought. A driver met us at the border and escorted us through the visa steps which was appreciated. I’m Tanzania we stayed at 2 tented campsites with basic amenities ( the one in Ngorongoro has a really nice view). When we were camping the last 2 days you also get a “private chef” who prepared really nice hot breakfast , lunch and dinners- this part definitely had the best food ( thank you Gerard). We are vegetarian and were accommodated consistently at each site- though some obviously much more graciously then others
( butter sandwiches vs veggie curry with chapati and fresh fruit)

In the Serengeti we had a half day and a full day drive. The sheer number of wildebeest and zebra is really amazing. We also saw several large prides of lions ( 18!). Lastly, Ngorongoro crater exceeded my expectations. The landscape is very different from the other parks with lush green trees and the surrounding crater walls- really beautiful! It was a strong ending to our trip.

We had 1 guide driver for the Kenya side and then another for the Tanzania- both were very kind and personable though one was much more informative so it was nice to experience the variety. It’s also important to note it’s a joint safari which means you are merged with people who book the same itinerary from other companies so the group size constantly fluctuates at each stop but for us never exceeded 6 people.

Very happy with our experience and think the programing allows you to see a lot of beautiful places. Check your expectations that every day is a lot of driving ( 8 plus hours), early morning wake ups and bumpy roads and you will have a great time.

Faultless planning, advice, guidance and support from start to end, best holiday ever.
5/5

One holiday that's best left to the experts for advice planning and guidance especially coming from a country so far away. (Australia) We travelled as family, Wife and 17 year old daughter.
Our travel agent was absolutely wonderful and was only a phone call or message away to answer questions or provide any support or advice that was required.
The service and accommodations were faultless with impeccable service standards from all staff involved, amazing culture and culinary experiences which will be remembered forever and of course will have us returning in the near future. While initially our thoughts on pricing was slightly high, we soon came to realize that considering the amazing locations and remoteness, the high first class standard, the experiences we encountered, it is absolutely worth every penny and would not think twice about returning for more.
Discover Africa is the way to go.

Uncomplicated and Competent
5/5

Even before the Safari started the communication was perfect, and they were very flexible with changing up our safari. It really made me feel like they wanted the best experience for us. The Safari was amazing, and our Guide was friendly and knew a lot about the wildlife and also the people and culture of Tanzania. We saw tons of beautiful wildlife and our guide was excellent at spotting animals, while also navigating through the muddy roads. In the four days we spent on safari, everything was taken care of and we spent our nights in very nice accommodations. I would highly recommend this tour operator.

Great, with the ride guide!
3/5

I went on this trip as a solo traveler, which was a great choice for me because everything was pre-planned. I had a generally fantastic time and saw some amazing sights and animals! Overall, I am very happy with my experience!

My only feedback, and why I'm not giving 5-stars, is because my guide was knowledgeable, but hard to understand and communicate with. He sometimes seemed a bit harsh in his tone and when it's just the two of us for 7-days, it would have been nice to have a more personable host. Also, there were times when he didn't know what was scheduled and this led to uncomfortable situations; for example, I had booked a walking tour at Lake Naivasha and the guide didn't know about this, until he was putting me on the boat. This lack of knowledge led to me taking the walking tour in flip flops instead of close-toed shoes (I still have scratches on my feet) and I was carrying a heavy bag. Additionally, the vehicle was not what I expected; very old and uncomfortable.

Great Safari Experience with a Great Team
5/5

We had a fantastic time doing the 3-Day Nyerere NP Fly in/out Safari with Night Game Drive. Allan made the booking process very simple and communication in the build up to the safari was easy and all of our questions were answered promptly. We were picked up from our hotel in Zanzibar and then had a great flight in a small plane to the airstrip at Nyerere which meant we could begin our game drive right away.

On the Safari itself, our tour guide David was brilliant, very friendly and knowledgeable and was great to chat with throughout the 3 days. David and the driver had a great eye for spotting animals and, being on a private tour, everything was done at a pace that suited us which we really enjoyed. Our driver was great at managing the conditions when there had been rain in order to get us to great spots for seeing animals. Throughout the tour Allan kept in touch to ensure that everything was going well.

The night game drive was a real highlight on our safari tour. It allowed us to see many hippos wandering around out of the water, as well as elephants much closer than we would tend to see in the day.

The staff at the lodge were very friendly, the accommodation is quite basic as you would expect but has everything you need. The food and drink offered throughout the tour was good quality and we were always well fed.

It was just a great experience throughout and I would highly recommend to anyone.

An amazing one day trip to Mikumi
5/5

We could not even imagine a more perfect trip to the Mikumi national park. The service and communication with Promised Land Tours was excellent!

Our tour guide Edgar was a rock star safari driver and very knowledgeable.

Everything went so smoothly, we saw the animals from very close and learned a lot from our guides. We felt very safe with Edgar’s knowledge and experience.

Excellent organisation , perfect service, great guidance, met all of our expectations
5/5

We asked SouthBound tours to organize a voyage to the Victoria Falls and Botswana by plane . They proposed several camps and locations in accordance with our budget .
The tour fully met our expectations . We were picked up by our pilot at Livingstone , we visited the falls an then flew to King’s Pool in Linyanti .Luxury suites , amazing wildlife, very friendly people and excellent food. We fell asleep with the sound of hippos in the lagoon.
Then further on to Camp XakanaXa in the heart of Moremi game reserve and Camp Okavango . Stunning landscapes , safari tours by jeep or water game-viewing. Lots of birds but also hippos , leopards and lions. The last camp was Jack’s camp in the Makgadikgadi Pans, a wonderful experience. We had the opportunity of watching the migration of hundreds of wildebeest and zebras. To drive on the Pans , to meet Bushmen and finally to meet meerkats . All the time our pilot accompanied us . He organised some surprises for us : a special dinner , a braai , a special ride . He really tried to fulfill all our wishes . The whole voyage fully met our expectations . It was a once a lifetime experience ! Thanks to an excellent organisation !

Excellent in all respects
5/5

Our 13-day tour was organized by Petra who offered an exceptionally responsive, personal and professional service and created an itinerary which was the perfect balance of seeing as much of the country as possible while not being constantly on the move. It felt great to have her arrange the accommodation - all the lodges she proposed were fabulous. She also quietly arranged a surprise birthday celebration which was very touching. Our guide Buzzy was brilliant - super knowledgable, an excellent communicator, enthusiastic, and great company. We had an unforgettable holiday. Thoroughly recommended.

Great tour that provides everything needed to have the whole safari experience.
5/5

100% recommended to anyone who wants to live the full Safari experience. Our guide Johnny was amazing, he did his best to spot different animals and take us the exact location to be able to see lions, lioness, giraffes, elephants or any other animal almost in front of us! It was an incredible weekend that went beyond my expectations.
