5/5

My family had an amazing 8 days holiday in Namibia that were planned with Wilma’s help. Besides the fact we enjoyed it a lot, must point out Wilma teamed us with good service providers ,hotels/lodges and all needed information. I find her patience to all our special requests and changes extraordinary, as well the fact that she was always available and quick to respond to any question or request, even late evening, weekend and holidays. What more can you ask for? It’s all ready the second time she making our holiday great. We are grateful for her and warmly recommend her service. Thank you Wilma so, so much. I guess we’ll keep on bothering you in the future :) Daphna

Most recommended guide in Kenya
5/5

We had such a great experience with Chris. He took care of us, driving from Nairobi to Amboseli and 3 days game drives in the park. He was very helpful and caring with my disabled brother during the whole trip. We saw a lot of animals and he was very committed to make us happy with our experience. He always find the good spots to observe animals we were asking for. Thank you so much for your kindness and your knowledge. We recommend Chris strongly.

Arrived Nairobi, at about 1200hrs and our Tour guide; Mr Crispin waited at the arrivals with a warm reception and ready to take on our luggage’s and help us explore the city. Mr Crispin was very eloquent, patient, and passionate about his job. He is a good time manager as we learned and explored the city in a very short time

Meijo Safari was phenomenal!! They were very good with communication through the entire planning process, and created a safari itinerary that was personalized to us. They took care of all accommodations, transportation, and food. And the food was super GOOD! 😋

We did a five day safari that ended in a day trip hike in Kilimanjaro. Our guide for the safari, Herman was out of this world good! He was able to spot animals that we would’ve driven right past without his skilled vision. His driving was incredible also! There were multiple instances we saw other safari jeeps get stuck in the mud on roads Herman had just gotten us through. He was also extremely patient with us getting just the right picture, stopping to view the animals as long as we wanted to, and he was able to predict what direction the animals would head in so we could get as close as possible. There were multiple times we were able to get right next to animals, without any other jeeps in sight!

The accommodations were also wonderful with Meijo Safaris. The best by far was the Matawi Tented Camp! It was so luxurious and the staff spoiled us! They waited on us hand and foot. Eileen’s Trees Inn was also very nice in a gorgeous serene setting. And the Rhino Lodge was good also, definitely the least luxurious of the Safari stays, but I think we just got super spoiled by staying at the Matawi Tented Camp first lol. 😜

I definitely recommend booking through Meijo Safaris, they made everything so easy and enjoyable!! And be sure to book the hot air balloon ride too, it was such an incredible experience!

World class travel providers
5/5

Our recent trip to Rwanda from December 1-16, 2021, was far better than expected. Wilma, through JD Destinations, organized and executed a fantastic trip. Because the Covid19 protocols changed about 24 hours before we began our trip, Wilma was able to book us an extra night in a villa where we had to quarantine. Let me tell you how spectacular this was: we had the entire grounds of our villa to do the 24-hour quarantine. This included 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, a living room area, an inside dining area and an outside dining area, swimming pool and pool house with a full-staff. I was almost sad to see my quarantine end, but the fabulousness didn’t end there. Near the villa is also a bar with bespoke cocktails made from local coffees that are fantastic. Our trip not only included wonderful resorts like The Retreat, Magashi Camp and Bisate Lodge, but we experienced the best that Rwanda had to offer in guides and wildlife as well. During our many excursions, we experienced so many animals in their natural habitats because we had guides who are experts with their respective animal. This was all arranged through JD Destinations via Wilma. We’ve had the opportunity to travel to more than 20 countries over the last 7 years and we’ve done all of the planning ourselves. However, Covid19 makes planning travel much more complicated on so many levels. After all of our wonderful experiences in Rwanda, as we were prepared to leave, our flight was canceled while we were at the airport. Wilma and her team sprang into action and in less than 24 hours we had a flight home. Prior to Covid19 and this experience, I’d always believed that travel agents and agencies were a frivolous expense. However, since this experience, I have come to truly appreciate what these professional experts do. They ensure that your trip is as close to your dreams and imagination as possible. Often exceeding even what you can imagine. And they take all of the headaches. When our flight was cancelled at the last minute, we simply returned to our hotel that we’d left went back to our same room and crawled into bed. Wilma and her team worked throughout the night ensuring that we got the next available flight out of there. This team is far better than having travel insurance because they stick with you and ensure that everything goes better than planned. I would highly recommend not only this trip to anyone, but also JD Destinations and Wilma.

The best guides, focused on Safety, Success and Fun!
5/5

Our group of 6 recently had the privilege of embarking on an unforgettable 8-day hike to the summit of Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho Route with Almighty Kilimanjaro, and the entire experience exceeded our wildest expectations. From the breathtaking landscapes to the impeccable service provided by the extraordinary team, every moment of this journey was nothing short of magical.

Our adventure began with a warm welcome from the Almighty Kilimanjaro team, and it didn't take long to realize that this was not just a trekking expedition; it was a holistic experience crafted with passion, expertise, and a deep commitment to client satisfaction.

The Lemosho Route itself is a testament to the diverse beauty of Kilimanjaro, offering a kaleidoscope of ecosystems, from lush rainforests to alpine deserts. The meticulously planned itinerary allowed for gradual acclimatization, ensuring that our group of adventurers had the best chance at reaching the summit successfully.

The heartbeat of our journey was undoubtedly the incredible team of guides and staff who made every step of the way an absolute joy. Muntari, Swalehe, and Frankie were not just guides but true companions and family on our trek. Their knowledge of the mountain, infectious enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment to our safety and success were instrumental in making this climb an enriching experience. THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST and they truly made the trip!!!!!!!! We couldn't have done it without them, and cannot recommend them enough.

Our waiter, Bubusha, deserves special mention for his warm hospitality and tireless efforts to make our experience at the camp delightful. He was always available, day or night, with anything that we needed. The meals prepared by Chef Sheban were nothing short of gourmet delights, proving that you can enjoy fine dining even at 15,000 feet. He was also able to pivot meals per our groups dietary requests.

The unsung heroes of our expedition were undoubtedly the porters, whose dedication and hard work ensured that our journey was as comfortable as it was adventurous. Their resilience in navigating challenging terrains while carrying our gear and setting up camp each day left us in awe. Almighty Kilimanjaro's commitment to fair treatment and working conditions for porters was evident throughout the journey.

As the sun rose on summit day, the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie among our group was overwhelming. Standing on the roof of Africa was a moment of triumph made possible by the dedication and expertise of the Almighty Kilimanjaro team.

Overall, the 8-day hike on the Lemosho Route with Almighty Kilimanjaro was an awe-inspiring journey that surpassed all expectations. The combination of stunning landscapes, expert guides, and a top-notch support team made this expedition a truly remarkable experience.

Professional, glad and informative safari guide
5/5

I had an incredible day at the safari, witnessing a variety of animals. Geoffrey, our guide, provided insightful information about the animals, their natural habitats, and the symbiotic relationships they share. I not only learned a lot but also had a great time thanks to Geoffrey's upbeat and humorous demeanor. The proximity to the animals due to the excellent driving added to the experience, allowing me to capture stunning footage. It was a perfect day, and I couldn't have asked for better service. Thank you ✨🦁

Memorable Northern Circuit trip
5/5

Being based in Arusha, Gilmag Safaris was easy to deal with and responsiveness by email or WhatsApp was faster than any other tour operator I approached for quotes on a 7-day trip on the Northern Circuit. Paid for the customized trip by credit card with a modest surcharge. I met the owners, Gilbert and Mary. They were friendly and helpful, making sure I got to Arusha Airport for a flight to Seronera airstrip. An email miscommunication about what I wanted in the itinerary was quickly corrected. Everything promised in Gilmag Safari’s proposal was delivered. Praise for my guide Mbasha cannot be lavish enough. Mbasha is knowledgeable about the wildlife, an expert driver on roads others were not handling well, and a great traveling companion for my solo trip.
