I would recommend Safaris by Jon over and over again.
I will start by saying Uganda is amazing. Safaris by Jon was an excellent tour company. His email response time with any questions were answered very quickly and thoroughly. Jon picked us up at our hotel on time and we then toured the local Kampala attractions. We continued with our arranged tour with his tour guides Jerrod and Hillary. Both were exemplary. Their knowledge of Uganda was so good! We were thoroughly impressed with the entire tour. When considering Uganda we were concerned about the Level 2 travel advisory. Jon assured that Uganda was safe. We found this to be true every place we went. It is unfortunate that the government has not been able to reduce this advisory. Great plan, excellent execution and super price
We did an one day Akagera safari, were picked up by Kigali hotel. Your guide was excellent, expert, friendly and great driver. We enjoyed a great safari day! Everything went as per plan and price and communication with the agency amazing!

I do not trust this company! They cancelled an already confirmed trip a few hours before as they resell peoples paid tickets
I would never trust this company!! We had booked a safari trip directly through them well in advance, paid the deposit as advised and received a confirmation of booking together with flight tickets. The night before our trip the company emails us at 10:02pm (pickup was agreed for 6:30am) to inform that they cancel our trip. They gave us no reason for cancellation and when our hotel staff called them, they told that they had re-sold our tickets to someone else. Later on they told us that airline had canceled the flight, which we found out to be a lie and no flights were actually canceledā¦
So besides causing us a huge disappointment, they also decided to blindly lie to us and not take any responsibility of their actions whatsoever. Our customer service representative Charity also decided to stop responding our emails leaving us unanswered.
All in all, incredibly bad customer service and non-reliable company. I highly recommend to book through someone else!

Excellent service and Reliable.
First off, the official written quote gave me a glimpse of the well handcrafted adventure we were expecting to get. I was already anticipating the highlights that were beautiful phrased.
Any changes made were clearly communicated promptly. Driver change, and accommodation changes.
Our Driver and tour guide Geoffrey showed up on time to the custom location which was not in the usual pick up city with ready cold water bottles and a big smile.š
Our game drives were fun and timely done to maximize the animal sightings; elephants. cheeters, gazelles, zebras, twiga etc

Jackson was selfless and put us 1st on everything.
This was my second trip to Uganda and I was blessed to bring my daughter along this trip. We were greeted at the airport with a great smile and a since security. Over the next week Jackson went above and beyond for our group. He was always early and stayed late. On our safari Jackson was very knowledgeable of all the animals and explained them well. I never felt like we were ever put in danger on our safari. Thank you Jackson and Brian with Uganda Family Tours for the awesome job. I highly recommend this groupā¦

Focus on making it the best experience possible!
All of our guides went out of their way to make sure we had the best possible experience. They were extremely knowledgeable about the area and cultureā¦and always did whatever they could to make sure we had front row seats for the animals. Wished we would have stayed longer!!

Here's another 5-star review. How many more do you need? Go with Safari specialists and you will not be disappointed! Bronwyn helped us set up a 15-day safari through Namibia and Botswana and we couldn't have been more satisfied. I had been to the Okavango area a few years before so I had an idea of where I wanted to go and what I wanted to see and the lodges we decided upon couldn't have been better. I was unfamiliar with Namibia, but the places Bronwyn suggested were perfect, all unique and very comfortable. If I had any questions or wanted to make any changes, Bronwyn was always ready to promptly take care of things and there was never a problem. My traveling companion did have some health issues and Safari Specialists did everything they could to help us resolve them along the way and still keep us on schedule. We also had a problem with our flight leaving Maun; Air Botswana let us down--which wasn't anything Safari Specialists was responsible for--but Bronwyn made every effort to successfully get us on a different flight. A Safari Specialists staffer who happened to be at the airport also stayed with us until she was sure we got on our flight. Just excellent service all around! Thanks Bronwyn and Safari Specialists for a great trip!

Go with Great Adventures! I booked a 2 week custom itinerary with gorilla & chimpanzee trekking in Bwindi and Kibale, respectively, a Murchison Falls game drive, and 3 days in the Maasai Mara of Kenya. All the accommodations they booked were comfortable, beautiful, and with great food and staff.
Samuel, the planner, arranged everything and was helpful and communicative. Joseph was our guide in Uganda, and he was the best! He was knowledgeable about animals & culture, accommodating, and fun. There were a couple setbacks with our itinerary (some due to us, some due to vendors that Great Adventures worked with), but they did everything they could to put us at ease and pivot to a suitable alternative. Overall, we had an incredible and memorable time, and have many fond memories, photos, and relationships to take home with us.
Iām so glad I booked this unforgettable trip of a lifetime with this company! Go with them instead of a big US or EU-based tour company ā youāll be supporting local jobs in Uganda, and these guys are great. Thank you so much for making this an incredible experience!
