We had a wonderful 6 day budget camping safari organized by Lenchada Safaris.
We thoroughly enjoyed our safari. The wildlife viewing was fantastic. Highlights included approximately 35 lions in one day at the Mara including 3 lionesses and 9 babies, a lioness on a Cape buffalo kill, and a male lion hunting, cheetahs , and all the incredible number of other animals and birds up close. Three black rhinos and 3 white rhinos at Lake Nakuru NP. Impressive herds of elephant with the clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Our guide David was extremely professional. Handled very difficult roads with skill in a powerful Land Cruiser. Everyone had a window seat as promised. David explained the habits of the various animals. Was able to spot animals we would otherwise not have seen and to position the Land Cruiser in the best spot to take photographs, always as close as possible without being too close and so that we were not shooting into the sun. When he heard about lions and rhinos over the radio he got us to them very quickly without sacrificing our safety.
We enjoyed meeting the other travellers on this group safari. The permanent tent camps at the Mara and Amboseli allowed us to be close to nature but still enjoy mod cons….large canvas tents with screened windows on three sides on concrete or stone platforms, good beds with sheets, pillows and blankets. Towels. Electricity. Western toilets en suite with showers with hot water. The food was plentiful. Basic local rice, potatoes and vegetables, chicken and beef. Fresh delicious mangoes. Camp fires! A great nature walk around the property at the eco camp at Amboseli led by a Masai, seeing many birds, impalas and a large elephant just outside the electric fence protecting the property.
A well organized safari at an excellent price. Excellent value!

Gorillas - Terrific experience
Hermosa Life Travels were amazing and our guide, Augustin went above and beyond! He had to help us go to the shops and buy some clothes (as our luggage didn’t arrive in time for us to leave Kigali). We then had to go via the airport on the way back to collect our bags. Nothing was a problem for Augustin. Augustin was knowledgeable, helpful and so full of pride for his country.
The Gorilla Trek was absolutely amazing - a bucket list item ticked off.
