Mount Meru, second highest peak in Tanzania, rises to an elevation of 4,566 meters within Arusha National Park. The mountain features a single route to its summit. Many climbers use Meru for acclimatization prior to Kilimanjaro ascent. Mount Meru requires the accompaniment of armed rangers for safety. As you embark on this journey, you will have the opportunity to experience a walking safari, encountering groups of African buffaloes, zebras, and black-and-white colobus monkeys along the way.
