Mikumi National Park is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania and is easily accessible from Zanzibar. It covers approximately 3,235 km² (1,247 mi²) and is located between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the southeast. Mikumi is home to a variety of wildlife, including buffalo, giraffe, elephant, lion, python, leopard, crocodile, impala, hyena, wildebeest, and hundreds of colorful birds.
