Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda and after all the formalities, you shall be welcomed by our safari guide, who will then drive you to your hotel for an overnight. Depending on the time you arrive, you may choose to go for a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria which starts from Entebbe late afternoon, you will cruise by boat out towards the equator line or local islands to view the sun over the horizon. Watch the fishermen cast their nets and enjoy the snacks and drinks provided on board.

Day 2

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will start your scenic for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will stop at the Equator for photos and later for en route lunch before you proceed to Bwindi. Thereafter continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the home to endangered mountain gorillas which lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked. There are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemic bird species including Blue-throated Broadbill, bar-tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species.

Day 3

Gorilla trekking

After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters and meet with excellent local ranger guides and trackers who will brief you about the etiquette of gorilla trekking. Thereafter head off to the forest for Gorilla trekking in the company of an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. Trekking the Mountain Gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences, although the hike is physically demanding the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery makes the trekking worthwhile. The trek will take between 2 and 6 hours, but is well worth the effort. As an alternative to gorilla trekking, you could choose to take a guided forest walk in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. A forest walk in Bwindi rewards the travelers with an exclusive feeling of a natural virgin forest, sweet melodies of birds singing up in the trees as well a close encounter with wild animals such as baboons among others.

Day 4

Early Morning Hiking of Mt Sabinyo

Today, you will start the hike to the top of Mount Sabinyo, a Virunga Volcano that you can only access its summit from the park. The summit of the mountain lies at 3,645 meters (11,959 ft), marks the intersection of the borders of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, and Uganda. The slopes of Mt. Sabinyo are a habitat for the critically endangered mountain gorillas.

You will see the rugged nature of the terrain along the Sabinyo slopes that has many craters with sharp ridges. The Mount Sabinyo hike is a one-day hike involving 4 hours to the summit and 4 hours back and this depends on the pace and weather conditions. Walking sticks are provided for free meanwhile the porters are available for hire. You will go through vegetation ranges from the bamboo zone between 2400 – 2800m. After ascending to its park, have some rest and your packed lunch. Start descending the mountain. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Transfer / Fly back to Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast and relaxation at the lodge, you will bid farewell to the lodge and drive/ Fly back to Kampala/Entebbe for drop off at the Hotel or Airport to end the 5Day Uganda Gorilla and Mt Sabinyo Hiking safari.
