Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel or agreed location in Dar es Salaam. Meet your professional safari driver-guide and travel south by road toward Nyerere National Park, passing through rural communities, farmland, and scenic countryside along the way.
Upon arrival in the Nyerere area, check in at your safari camp or lodge and enjoy lunch and some time to relax. Later in the afternoon, head to the Rufiji River for a sunset boat safari. Cruise along the river and its channels while looking out for hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and other wildlife along the riverbanks.
As the sun begins to set, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful colours over the Rufiji River before returning to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park. Spend the day exploring the park's varied habitats, including open grasslands, miombo woodland, lakes and riverine areas.
Your guide will search for wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, lions, hippos, antelopes and, with some luck, African wild dogs. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a suitable location inside the park, allowing you to maximize your time in the wilderness.
Continue your game drive during the afternoon before returning to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, check out and begin your journey toward Mikumi National Park, travelling via Matambwe Gate.
Enjoy a final game drive en route through Nyerere National Park as you make your way toward the gate. This gives you another opportunity to observe wildlife before continuing the road journey north toward Mikumi.
The drive takes you through remote landscapes, local villages, and changing scenery as you travel between two of Southern Tanzania's major wildlife areas. A picnic lunch will be provided along the way.
On arrival in the Mikumi area, transfer to your lodge or camp for check-in, dinner, and overnight.

After breakfast, leave Mikumi and begin the scenic road journey toward Ruaha National Park. Travel through the Southern Highlands, passing through rural settlements and beautiful landscapes as you make your way toward one of Tanzania's most remote and impressive wildlife destinations.
Depending on your arrival time and final accommodation location, there may be an opportunity for a short game drive or time to relax at the lodge.
