Being nearer to the Coast, it is a more humid climate, and thick vegetation can make game viewing a bit of a challenge. Facilities are a bit meagre compared to some other reserves, but on the whole it is a great breakaway destination and gives that full Night in the Bush feeling.

We saw several prides of lions munching on a fresh kill, what more could we have hoped for!? I guess that might sway my opinion a little bit.

This is a wonderful park that I visit often. I always stay in park accommodation and although the camps vary in quality (love Nselweni) being in the park is the best. The tar roads are pretty bad with potholes but they are presently repairing them. The other roads are fine. The game viewing is generally good and I enjoy being able to use my own vehicle.

The highlight of Hluhluwe was watching a pack of wild dogs playing in the grass as the sun rose - that was actually likely the rarest animal that we saw in visiting Hluhluwe and Kruger. We also saw quite a few rhinos, giraffe and Cape Buffalo while there as well. We did not see elephants or lions, other than from quite a distance. Nonetheless, it was a great experience and we had a terrific guide on the drive. I would definitely go back, but if I had to choose between Hluhluwe and Kruger, Kruger would win hands down.

The Park is incredibly beautiful. But for its size, the network of roads is too small. The variety of game is there - but on the several times I've visited I've been disappointed by what I've spotted.

Incredible, and unique Rhino viewing, which we can only hope will remain for many years to come!

This park is well situated in the province of Kwa Zulu Natal with beautiful scenery. The park rangers are excellent as well as all the other staff. The game is in abundance, good for photography as well as the game viewer.

This park has it all! Spend a few night at Mpila Camp and do self drives and you are likely to see a lot. As always you would be lucky to see leopards, but the rest of the big 5 is almsot a given. Cheetahs and wild dogs are alo not uncommon. Birding is excellent as well, with lots of birds of prey.
