Beyond my expections, beautiful, safe, exciting and fullfilling.
I would highly recommend using Transtrek for your safari. Daniel put together for us a bespoke first-time safari we wanted and the brilliant value for money became more apparent as the trip went on. The variety of areas we stayed and animals we saw was just incredible, Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and then the Masai Mara. Our driver Tony was wonderful company, had fantastic knowledge about where to find the animals and knew the name of every animal, bird and reptiles we saw. We had several experiences of seeing animals by ourselves which was magical, a herd of elephants, cheetah, crocs and hyenas to name but a few.
We felt very safe and enjoyed standing up in the jeep for most of the time, the best way to spot the animals. Got stunning photos, just with my iPhone because of Tonys skills getting us into great positions for the shots.
At Ol Pejeta we had a magical start to the trip where we meet the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world and a blind black rhino called Baraka whom we were able to feed. We also visited the Jane Goodall chimp sanctuary all of which was incredibly moving. I would recommend going here and supporting the work they do at the Conservancy.
We also went on a boat to crescent island where you can walk freely amongst the animals with a guide as there are no predators on the island. Some of 'Out of Africa' were filmed there.
I have never seen so many birds as I did at the two lakes it was paradise. Over the trip we saw the big five as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebra, eagles’ crocs, hippos, hyenas, so many antelopes and monkeys to name a few.
My friend and I feel in love with Kenya, it was a trip of a lifetime, don't hesitate, book it, you can thank me later.
Couldn't have been any better!
Just came back from a fantastic 9 day safari with Transtrek. They really provided the total package! Not only it was really easy to book with but the safari was an unforgettable experience which will stay with me forever. Daniel and Tony looked after us and after every single aspect of the trip, making it a one-off experience. If you are looking for a great safari, look no further!
Great personalised itinerary, service and experience - recommended
Nervous initially about booking with an independent company, we were swayed by personalised advice to better suit a family group and that they are UK bonded. There was no need to worry though, we were collected from the airport and escorted throughout and back to the airport, wonderful accommodation at Nairobi airport, Ol Pajeta, Lake Nakuru and Massai Mara. Everything was sorted for us, good value for money and it was a wonderful trip. I would recommend Transtrek, Daniel had all the planning covered and kept in touch, Peter is a knowledgeable guide, who went out of his way to give us all the experiences we sought. Their expertise, experience, knowledge and desire to shape a trip that was best suited to us was clear.
Transtrek Safaris offers seamless, personalised safaris with expert care and attention to detail.
We booked the Samburu Five and Big Five Safari with Transtrek Safaris and had an unforgettable experience from beginning to end. Their UK registration gave us added peace of mind in a crowded market, where choosing the right provider can feel overwhelming, especially for such a significant investment.
From the outset, the communication was clear and responsive. Daniel took the time to understand our preferences and designed an itinerary that suited us perfectly, offering thoughtful suggestions and flexible options throughout the planning process.
Upon arrival in Kenya, everything was perfectly coordinated. After a smooth airport transfer to our Nairobi hotel, we met our guide Peter the following morning, and from that moment, we knew we were in the best hands. His deep knowledge, enthusiasm, and respect for wildlife and local culture truly enriched our experience.
The safari itself surpassed all expectations. We were fortunate to see both the Big Five and the rare Samburu Five. Each lodge we stayed in was well selected, not only comfortable, but also full of character and set in stunning locations. The food was excellent, and the warm hospitality we received made us feel welcome wherever we went.
Transtrek Safaris delivered a seamless, expertly managed trip. But what truly elevated it was Peter. His professionalism, insight, and personal touch transformed the journey. He brought the itinerary to life with care and enthusiasm, making each day feel unique and meaningful.
Peter didn’t just guide our safari, he defined it. His dedication and attention to detail turned a great adventure into an extraordinary one, and we’re genuinely grateful for the role he played in creating memories we’ll cherish forever.
Brilliant Safari, Excellent Service.
We were returning to Kenya having been on a safari organised by Transtrek before back in 2018. We had no hesitation in contacting Dan at Transtrek again to plan our next trip. This time we wanted to do something different and after WhatsApp calls with Dan settled on a fortnights trip travelling a northern route visiting the Rift Valley Naivasha and Nakuru Lakes, before moving on to the high plains of Ol Pejeta, then the semi-arid Samburu returning to Nairobi via the lush Aberdares. All of our accommodation was superb with great food – each place was very different in style but all were excellent.
Our driver/guide Tony promised us a fun time when he picked us up from the airport and he didn’t disappoint. He was an excellent driver, guide, photography adviser and mechanic. We learnt a lot from him not just about the abundant wildlife but also Kenyan culture and history.
We would thoroughly recommend a Safari with the Transtrek team.
