Absolutely life changing, unforgettable safari experience!!
Absolutely LOVED our experience with Serengeti African Tours, Linah and our amazing driver, Elisha!
TLDR: Everyone was so kind, food delicious and accommodations BETTER than expected even though we did the budget camping safari, we saw the big 5 and more, connected with our driver on a personal level and were in tears leaving! đđ Info on camping safari below
Booking a safari can be overwhelming- there are so many companies and we wanted to be responsible tourists and book a safari company that was Tanzanian owned. Linah was one of the first to respond, sending me various options and finally settling on a custom blend of the various options they had- 5 days of âbudgetâ safari camping including accommodations and all 3 meals every day, and 1 day of the materuni waterfall & coffee tour for what we felt was a more than fair price of $1200 per person. Later we added the hot air balloon, but unfortunately we didnât fly due to safety and weather and I received a full refund (no fault of Serengeti)
We were picked up promptly every day, everything was so easy, fun and set up for us to enjoy ourselves and get what we wanted out of our experience. Even though we spent hours in the safari car - it flew by because we were laughing and enjoying the company of those in our group who were our age and similar backgrounds, plus we thoroughly enjoyed our driver, Elishaâs sense of humor, kindness and personable personality as well as the facts he taught us about the animals and the country!
If youâre curious about the camping experience, there are toilets, sinks and showers at every campsite! We also were able to watch wildlife at both campsites but especially at the one on the crater rim, we saw giraffes, zebras, and gazelle IN the camp! Absolutely amazing experience and definitely worth the challenge of camping- which really wasnât a challenge at all since everything is done for you. I even lost my coat at one of the stops but I wasnt Cold at the crater rim camp at all. All meals were hot and delicious such as chicken, rice, vegetables, pasta, beef curry etc for lunch and dinner, pancakes, eggs and sausage for breakfast. There are lots of stops for the restroom and coffees! âïž
The car is very comfortable, safe and easy to spend hours in and also to view the animals through the roof of the car!
We saw multiples of every single animal we came to see, including the rare ones like leopards, cheetahs and rhinos! We even saw babies of almost all the animals we wanted to see! Elisha pulled all the stops to make those sightings happen, driving across miles of land to find just one animal if necessary! When we left, we were genuinely so sad and in tears to leave him and our âsafari familyâ. I will be recommending this company, Linah and Elisha to anyone who wants to do a safari in Tanzania! I have 0 regrets and only wish it was longer đ«¶đ»
Great safari experience, but not without issues
Overall, I had a great safari experience, although unfortunately not every part of the trip was as positive.
From the very beginning, communication with Glory was great. She was always quick to respond, helpful and made the whole booking process very easy.
I booked a 4-day camping safari. The campsites were good and the tents were equipped with small mattresses and sleeping bags. One thing I was a little disappointed about was that the first night wasnât actually spent in a tent, even though my itinerary stated three nights of camping. It wasnât a huge issue for me, but it was different from what I had booked and expected.
Also: bring more warm clothes than you think youâll need! Especially around Ngorongoro, the nights can get very cold.
The food throughout the safari was always really good and there was more than enough. Of course, some meals were quite similar, but for four days of camping there is really nothing to complain about. A big thank you to our chef Ritschard for taking such good care of us!
As for the safari itself, we saw an incredible amount of wildlife and had some amazing moments.
Unfortunately, the part that significantly affected my experience was our guide, Lawrence.
Throughout the trip, I repeatedly felt ignored and not taken seriously by him. There were many situations where I would ask a question and simply receive no answer. It became so noticeable that it actually turned into an inside joke within our group: when I asked something and got ignored, one of the guys would repeat the exact same question â and suddenly get an answer.
I addressed this directly with Lawrence several times during the safari. Unfortunately, his response was basically just âokayâ, and nothing changed afterwards.
I also felt that we sometimes received surprisingly little information from him. For example, when staying at campsites with wild animals around, we had to repeatedly ask for basic information about whether it was safe to walk to the toilets alone at night and what precautions we should take. Whenever something was questioned or we asked for more clarification, his reaction often felt dismissive.
There were also a few situations involving the animals that made some of us uncomfortable. At times, members of the group had to point out that we felt we were getting too close to animals. There were also one or two occasions where we drove off-road even though nobody in our group had asked for this.
I understand that safari guides have a lot of experience and know the parks far better than tourists do, but for me, respecting the animals and their space is an important part of the experience as well.
Itâs unfortunate because there were so many great aspects to this safari, and I want to emphasize that my criticism of the guide does not reflect my experience with the entire company.
After the safari, I shared my concerns about Lawrence privately with the company. I was apologized to and told that the matter would be addressed, which I appreciate. However, I was also repeatedly asked not to include this negative experience in my public review because it could affect the company. I understand their position, but I believe an honest review should reflect both the p

Life memories
This trip was magical, our family loved everything about the trip. Our guide Moses was amazing, Neema who guided me through the booking process and arranging the tour was also amazing. The trip was excellent value for money with the Accomadation being a huge part of making the trip so memorable, it felt like a scene from out of Africa.
All three national parks where above what I was expecting, we seen all of the animals you can imagine and more.
Moses tended to our ever want a need and was an excellent guide. He was a legend for the amount of miles he drove in all conditions.
I have zero bad to say about this tour and Serengeti African tours.

An Unforgettable Experience
Our trip to Tanzania was absolutely wonderful!!
Our guides, Jackson (J4), our Italian-speaking guide, and Peter, our driver, were kind, knowledgeable, and highly professional. They helped make our experience both safe and incredibly enjoyable.
We visited the three main parks, including the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, and we were lucky enough to spot all of the Big Five, as well as countless other animals!
We are taking home wonderful memories and so many beautiful photographs. Tanzania will always hold a special place in our hearts!!

Wonderful Safari with Serengeti African Tours
Wonderful safari with Serengeti African Tours. We chose the 6-day, 5-night package, visiting the Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Lake Manyara parks. Special mention to our guides, Peter (driver) and Jackson J4 (an Italian guide), who made our experience unforgettable and were always attentive to our needs, behaving with precision and reliability! Highly recommended.

Amazing safari and perfectly arranged
From the beginning the contact with Evaness was very smooth and all of our questions were answered trough WhatsApp. The accommodations on all locations were very good. Our guide Ombeni was extremely good! He always managed to find the perfect spot and managed to find all the animals.

Fantastic Experience
I went on a safari with Serengeti African Tours in August 2026, in a group of 5 people, for 7 days. It was a fantastic experience. From the initial booking, they were always attentive, especially Evaness, who always answered my questions. We did a safari through the North and Central Serengeti and were able to see the great wildebeest migration, crossing the Mara River several times. I highly recommend staying more than one day in the North Serengeti to see the migration and experience staying in a temporary camp in the middle of the savanna. The Ngorongoro Crater was another highlight, a must-see on the tour. The safari vehicle had water, soft drinks, beer, and wine available in a cooler. The lodges prepared a daily food kit for us (lunch and snacks), which was great, allowing us to make the most of our safari time. The standout of the company for my group was the guide, Lucca. If you have the option to choose, I recommend him. He was always cheerful, friendly, and had great knowledge about African animals and flora. Going on a guided safari is fantastic, Lucca has a trained eye, he could spot hidden animals and knew the best places to look. In short, a fantastic experience! I highly recommend it!

Great experience seeing all the animals across 3 national parks
We had a great experience overall. We enjoyed all the 3 national parks and every animal sighting got us joy. All the 3 lodges were great. The Lodge staff were all friendly.
Some areas we felt could be of improvised were the options of picnic box of hot lunch. We prefer box lunches but the only option was hot lunches which did not stay hot. Also the quantity of the picnic lunches needs to be checked as it was less. Also we understand the drivers/guides are experienced on bush roads, but maybe they need to be mindful of the speed.

Great Safari experience đŠ
We had a great experience with Peter as our guide! He drove us safely from Arusha to Terengire, Ngorongoro and then to Serengeti, always informing us on every animal we'd see on the way and finding spots for us to see not only the Big 5, but plenty of animals (upon request even haha). He's a reliable trustworthy guide, knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife in Tanzania.
We did 5 full days and a sixth transport day and on every single one we were lucky to see beautiful wildlife. The accomodations chosen by the company were also great, super clean and comfy and staff was kind and helpful everywhere. Absolutely amazing experience I'd love to repeat again someday đ€đŒ

Amazing safari experience
We had an amazing safari experience, and a huge part of that was our guide, Peter. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and funny, and by the end of the trip it felt much more like traveling with a friend than being on a guided tour.
We saw an unbelievable amount of wildlife, including five leopards(!), and Peter was always receptive to what we were interested in seeing and experiencing. He provided great insight into the animals and the parks without ever making it feel like a lecture, and as someone who was particularly interested in photography, I really appreciated how good he was at positioning the vehicle to give us the best possible opportunities for photos.
Peter also took care of absolutely everything throughout the day. The vehicle was always stocked with everything we needed, and somehow, despite days of dusty safari roads, he kept it spotlessly clean inside and out.
It was an unforgettable experienceâlots of animals, lots of laughs, and some incredible memories and photographs. We couldnât have asked for a better guide or a better safari.
