Excellent last minute Safari with Raymond
5/5

We were 4 friends on a last minute safari to Kenya. Communication was very quick and they were able to adapt to our needs. We managed to book the sarafi within an hour of making initial contact on a Sunday. Our guide Raymond was excellent! Friendly, knowledgeable and very hospitable. We were luck enough to see the big 5 all in 1 day! Our pictures were out of this world. The lodge that we stayed in the Masai mara was also very nice and the staff were welcoming with great service. I would definitely recommend Raymond and Karibu Safaris for good value for money.

Our Guide Eric made our Tour Amazing
4/5

We did the Masai Mara & lake Nakuru tour, it was very nice. Our Guide manage to show us many animals in the parks and explain many things about them.
Food was good
The only negative points are the hotels witch are really budget ones, and not the one wrote on the tour explanation

Friendly, safe, prepared, budget option for hiking mt kenya
4/5

Highlights: gorgeous hiking, great guide, excellent food, felt safe the entire time on the mountain, made it to the summit in time for sunrise!
Thing I wish were different: It would have been nice to get a packing list and an itinerary prior to departure. I would have preferred a different form of transport than matatu (and would have been willing to pay a little more for safer/more comfortable transportation)

I was picked up from my hotel exactly on time and driven to the office where I was able to store my extra luggage. A guide met me there and escorted me via matatu to Nanyuki. It would have been nice to know in advance that we would be traveling via matatu (I've seen far too many matatu crashes, and would have preferred a different mode of transportation), but the ride was uneventful. In Nanyuki I ate lunch while my guide got final provisions. I had my own sleeping bag, but was told that I could have rented one here if I needed. We met up with one more guide and a porter/cook then drove to the national park. While hiking, my guides were very informative about the nature around us and advised on all of the best photo ops. They were very professional, friendly and delightful to talk to. As a solo female traveler, I greatly appreciated the company and never felt unsafe or disrespected. Each day, tea was waiting when we arrived at the camp and my tent was ready for me. Dinner was delicious, filling and in large quantities. I did the sirimon/chigori route and the hike was probably one of the most beautiful treks I have ever done- beautiful views of the summit on the ascent and fields of protea and waterfalls on the descent. My guide (Jimmy) was very safety conscious and frequently checked in to see if I was having any symptoms of altitude sickness. He also kept our pace appropriately slow for acclimating. In contrast, I ran into travelers from other companies whose guides tried to convince them that altitude sickness was a mental block and that acetazolamide would only make them sick. Jimmy also did a great job of keeping an eye on the wildfires and making sure that our hiking route was safe. I did the trek in 5 days, but 4 probably would have been fine. The extra day was spent on the descent, so it didn't change anything with regards to acclimating to altitude. My guides went out of their way to try to show my animals, walking down to a watering hole in the evening and pointing out birds and chameleons as we hiked. Overall it was a great trip, very reasonably priced and they were very accommodating of a solo traveler.

Great Safari Experience with our guide Castro

The safari was very good, we saw many different animals and beautiful scenery. Our driver Castro was very knowledgeable of the animals and gave us plenty of time and opportunities for photographs.

Very effective tour and saw so much in our short time with Karibu Safaris.
5/5

We were only on safari for 2 days but we managed to see so much. Our guide, Aruni was so knowledgable and ensured that we seen as much as possible, so that added to our overall experience. The value for money was good. Food was basic but good. Accommodation wasn’t the most luxurious but you get what you pay for, it did the job. As part of the tour we visited the Masai Mara tribe and did a boat safari but keep in mind they were not included in the cost so they were another $20 each. Overall, great experience for the price and Aruni was a great guide on safari.

He was very nice and helpful.
5/5

We really enjoyed our experience with Karibu safaris. We would have liked to revive more information about the long journey to the Masai Mara and also to be made aware that we needed money for the visit to the Masai village, but apart from this we had a really good time and would recommend Karibu safaris to a friend.

A+ safari tour guide Maxwell
5/5

This was our first safari experience and it exceeded our expectations! We had Maxwell as our tour guide/driver and he has 10 years of experience going through the safari lands, so we were able to see all of the Big 5 and many more animals on the 3 day tour. He was also great with answering questions about the animals, and made sure we were comfortable and safe from the wilderness. We got as close as a few feet from lions, giraffes, and elephants. We also saw zebra, crocodiles, hippos, gazelles, warthog, heartbeats, some types of birds, and others I'm probably leaving out. The 3 day tour was the perfect length of time - first day arrived at the Jambo Mara Lodge and went for a half day game drive. Second day was a 12 hour game drive. Third day was a visit to one of the local Masai tribe villages where we were given a tour of the village by the Masai community. We saw more animals on the way back since you have to pass through the area to get back to Nairobi. The Jambo Mara Lodge was a full hotel within the park, with a pool.

Highly recommend this tour and Maxwell as the guide!

A great introduction to Kenya
5/5

The tour was very reasonable. We got to see so many animals including the big 5. There was 18 of us and it was a lovely group. The tour itinerary did change slightly and we didn't get to visit a school as told but they were on school break. It would also be nice to get more information from the driver. If there was a guide along with the driver it would be an ideal situation as we could get some extra knowledge. The company has a variety of vehicles so be aware when booking as some are more comfortable than others. All accommodation was very good and comfortable and the food was excellent.

Karibu Safaris is trustworthy and caring
4/5

We opted for Karibu Safaris as a budget tour provider and have not been disappointed. We drove to Masai Mara in a convoy of 4 landcruisers. So we knew in case of a flat tire or something we drivers/guides would help each other out. The accommodation was Miti Mingi Eco Camp (not Enchoro - but I think they are alike). You have to know that the accommodation is pretty basic, but since you are out exploring all day it does not make a huge difference anyway. The staff was super friendly, the food was nothing fancy but good. The game drives were exactly what we were looking for: We enjoyed driving through the vast landscape and loved seeing the animals alongside with explanations from our guide Peter. It has to be noted that the whole team was really caring and wanted to make sure we had a good time. Since we had to be at the airport on our last day, they arranged to programme according to our needs do that we would be sure to get to Nairobi on time. A huge thank you!
