Great Maasai Mara Experience
I had a wonderful Maasai Mara safari trip with Jocky Tours and my driver, Wycliffe. Although the trip was quite short (Only 3 days. I highly recommend going for longer because the drive from Nairobi to Maasai Mara takes 6–7 hours, which leaves very little time for game viewing), I had the chance to see elephants, lions, cheetahs, and — very luckily — witness a spectacular river crossing during the great wildebeest migration.
Wycliffe was very thoughtful and knowledgeable about the Maasai Mara, and he shared a lot of information with us throughout the trip. I stayed at Lenchada Camping, and as a solo traveller, I was given a private tent with full amenities and a spacious bathroom. The staff at the tour office were also very kind — they even accompanied me to exchange money since I hadn’t brought USD or KES.
One small suggestion would be for Lenchada Camping: since the tents are not soundproof, we could hear everything going on outside. Some guests were talking and laughing very loudly in the middle of the night, while most people needed to rest early after a long day and to wake up early the next morning. For this reason, it would be helpful if Lenchada had a rule prohibiting noise after 10 or 11 PM to ensure all guests can rest and stay healthy.
Overall, I was very satisfied with the trip and hope to return someday.

From the moment our safari began, John’s passion, deep knowledge, and incredible spotting skills made every moment special. He knew exactly where to be and when, giving us front-row views of wildlife we could only dream of—lions on the hunt, elephants at sunrise, and even rare bird sightings we would’ve totally missed without him.
Beyond that, John was kind, funny, super professional, and made us feel safe and cared for the entire journey. He knew Amboseli and Masai Mara like the back of his hand, and always went the extra mile to make sure we had the best views, best photos, and best stories to tell.

We booked a 7-day, 6-page trip for a very good price.
- The reliable guide allowed us to see almost all the animals we wanted to see (cheetahs, leopards, lions, rhinos, etc.), and even explained the animals' preferences to us.
- The accommodations were also very good. One day, they assigned us the wrong tent, but the driver helped us negotiate a better room with the camp owner and was very attentive to our suggestions.
- We didn't ask for tips, but the driver was very responsible.

Close touch with nature
Jocky Tours gave us a great experience! We have visited several national parks (Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, Hell's Gate, Amboseli). Each was specific and each unforgetable. We were able to see a lot of animals in their natural environment, and the whole experience was even improved by our guide - Sir Charles - who was able to explain us behaviour of animals right when we were observing them. I will never forget how we found a lion, and Sir Charles could say just from how he walked, that there is another one around, and really, in a few minutes another lion appeared from bushes. Our safari was full of things like that. Observation with understanding, that you can't get from books or movies. Only from direct observation with commentary from a good guide. I also appreciate safe transfer between the parks. It is good to have reliable guide, that can drive safely in challenging traffic conditions. I admire the skill and appreciate. Thank you!
