A solid 7 day safari!
My wife and I did a 7 day private budget safari with Axis and had a wonderful time. The company was amenable to our customization requests and we felt their organization of our trip helped for a smooth operation. Thank you to Philip for the timely itinerary updates to help us decide on our tour quickly. When we first visited the office, we also felt confident in the supervision by Cynthia to ensure our trip would go smoothly. The roster of preferred accommodations were great, especially the camps. The food quality and personal touch made them great and we actually preferred them to the hotels.
Our guide, Yasin, was knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. He seemed well-known and liked among the other tour guides from different companies, which allowed him to receive information on animal sightings so we could efficiently see the wildlife. His phone takes great pictures too and he shared them with us to supplement our own and provided informational commentary with the videos he took. His vehicle was comfortable, well-maintained, had universal charging outlets, and had a fridge in the back to keep drinks cold.
I would consider myself an overthinker so choosing Axis was not an easy decision, but I’m glad I did and would recommend them to my friends and colleagues who are now interested because of the great pictures we took. We believe the private safari is definitely worth it because of the space in the vehicle and the ability to make decisions based on our individual desires. Definitely research your options, communicate what you like, and ask questions about how to customize a trip beforehand.

An Unforgettable 5-Day Safari with Axis African Safari!
We just returned from a 5-day safari with Axis African Safari, visiting Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Lake Naivasha — and it was nothing short of amazing!
We chose the budget safari option, but decided to upgrade our accommodation in Maasai Mara to Wildnest Mara Camp, which turned out to be a great decision — the camp was beautiful and comfortable, offering a great blend of nature and relaxation.
Even though it was a budget and shared safari, the service from Axis African Safari was truly over and beyond. Our guide and driver, Tom, was an absolute star. From the moment he picked us up to the moment we said goodbye, he made sure we were well taken care of. Despite the long hours of driving, his energy, professionalism, and passion for wildlife never faded.
Tom went out of his way to make sure we had the best possible experience — always on the lookout for wildlife, incredibly knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions we had. We were very close to seeing the Big 5 (Except the Leopard which was hard to find)
This was a truly unforgettable adventure, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. If you're considering a safari in Kenya, we highly recommend Axis African Safari

Collin was a fun, attentive safari guide, always caring for everyone’s needs.
Our experience with Axis Africa Expedition & Safaris was excellent in terms of value for money. We chose the Mid-Range Luxury accommodation and it was completely worth it. We saw plenty of wildlife and almost completed the Big Five — just missed the leopard by a bit of bad luck. The service and dedication of our guide were outstanding, and this is definitely an experience I would repeat.

A good safari guide makes a difference
Our driver and guide, Sadaam was very effective in showing us around and took the extra effort to rush whenever he got a radio message from his colleagues about a sighting. He was polite and accommodative throughout our 7 day trip. He followed the itinerary perfectly and didn’t deviate from it. Our trip was memorable mainly due to our guide, Sadaam.

Thanks to his expertise and dedication, we saw an amazing variety of animals – from the majestic Big Five to countless species of birds, antelopes, and other fascinating creatures.
The highlight of our entire trip was witnessing a lioness stalking and attempting to hunt a warthog – a thrilling, heart-pounding moment that Julius positioned us perfectly to observe safely. His knowledge of animal behavior allowed him to predict this incredible scene, giving us front-row seats to one of nature's most dramatic spectacles.
What sets Julius apart is his perfect balance of being incredibly informative while keeping the atmosphere fun and engaging. He shared fascinating insights about animal behavior, ecosystem dynamics, and Masai culture without ever being overwhelming or lecture-heavy. His enthusiasm is infectious, and his respect for the wildlife and environment is deeply inspiring.

The perfect trio for a Kenyan Safari: Axis Africa, Khalifa, and Toyota Land Cruiser 💪
When we were choosing our safari, we looked at the reviews for Axis Africa Safaris — and the company still managed to exceed the already impressive expectations we had. From the very beginning, Philip was incredibly helpful in planning and customizing our trip. Axis Africa put together the perfect tailor-made 7-day itinerary, taking us from the elephants of Amboseli, to the calm of Lake Naivasha, the rhinos and flamingos of Lake Nakuru, and finally the unforgettable plains of the Maasai Mara.
Our guide, Khalifa, made the journey truly exceptional. He was endlessly knowledgeable, attentive, and a fantastic driver. I’ve never seen anyone handle a Toyota Land Cruiser with such skill and confidence — he took us places we never imagined we could go, always safely and smoothly. Needless to say that we saw every animal we wanted to see, and so much more (shoutout to the baby pumbaa, the lion cubs, and the 3 leopards that only *we* got to see!)
The vehicle itself was very comfortable, and we’d definitely recommend choosing the Land Cruiser over vans for the best experience.

When we decided to go on safari in Kenya, we chose Axis Africa Safaris, and from the very first moment, everything was seamless. Philip guided us through the booking process with patience and care, answering all our questions and sharing a clear, well-organized itinerary that made planning stress-free.
Once our trip began, Philip told us we’d be traveling with one of their top guides, and he was absolutely right, Khalifa was exceptional. He wasn’t just knowledgeable about the wildlife, he was also incredibly attentive, kind, and genuinely excited to share the experience with us. His sharp eye and deep understanding of animal behavior meant we didn’t just “see” the animals, we truly experienced the parks. He knew the best spots, the right timing, and always managed to position us perfectly for photos without ever making the experience feel rushed.
What stood out most about Khalifa was his passion, he clearly loves what he does, and that energy made every game drive feel magical. He was patient, enthusiastic when something exciting happened, and thoughtful in making sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment, he also made many recommendations on how to make our trip better, and he even taught us some Swahili. If you’re booking with Axis Africa, I can’t recommend Khalifa enough as your guide, he turned a great trip into an unforgettable one.
The company also gave us a wonderful selection of hotels for us, each one comfortable and welcoming. We loved the flow of the trip too, starting in Amboseli, moving on to Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha, and finishing with the unforgettable Masai Mara.
Overall, Axis Africa gave us a safari experience we’ll treasure forever. With Philip’s support and Khalifa’s extraordinary guiding, we felt taken care of every step of the way.

I found this tour provider after doing a thorough research and after concluding a 7 day private safari visiting Amboseli, Lake Navaisha, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara I can’t be more happy and fulfilled. I have to give a special mention to Philip who helped me and my friends do all the booking, and arraigning the hotels we wanted to stay. He helped us in every step of the way.
