Exceeded our expectations.
Our daughter had been in Kenya for a college internship a few years ago. So, we wanted to customize a trip there to include some of the areas she had previously enjoyed. We contacted several tour groups with this request. Shanjoy Tours was very prompt at getting back with us and extremely helpful during every step of the planning. After a warm welcome, we started out for our 12 day tour. We had 2 very knowledgeable and friendly guides, Steven and Merten. Every day was like a fun, new adventure. They did a great job of showing and telling us about everything we were seeing. Several of the days we were on safari. They went above and beyond our expectations to show us the animals. I never dreamed I would see elephants, giraffes, lions (even one with a cub), leopards, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, topis, Thompsons gazelles, zebras, a cheetah, jackals, hyenas, flamingos, and much more. It was truly a dream come true! Thank you so much for a wonderful trip. You exceeded all of our expectations!

Customization and excellent customer service, our guides were like family
Shanjoy took us on the family vacation of a lifetime. I reached out to Shanjoy with a custom itenerary. I had visited Kenya before and wanted to show my family some of my favorite spots. Not only was Shanjoy quick to respond, but they also were the most reasonably priced. Merten and Patrick were able to do everything on my list including places they had not been before. Our itenerary included Mt Longenot, Lake Naivaisha, Lake Nakuru, a Hells gate walk and bike ride, Iten, Lake Bogoria, Lake Baringo, the Kakamega rainforest, and Masai Mara. We visited a snake sanctuary, did boat and land safaris, did multiple hikes, and had plenty of relaxing time. As soon as we were picked up by Steve and Merten we didn't have to worry about a thing all trip. They took care of all of the details and were with us every step of the way (including Merten joining us to hike Mt Longenot and the rain forest). Steve was our driver and guide to all of the animals. He was able to show us the Big 5 multiple times over. We also learned about each animal when we saw it and learned how to say the names in Swahili. Our hotels were excellent and Shanjoy even managed to get us an upgrade on our Masai Mara hotel. Overall my whole family loved our trip and our Shanjoy guides. Next time we come to Kenya we will definitely we traveling with them.

We spent two weeks with Steve and Merten traveling around the popular and secret parts of Kenya and loved every minute of it.
From desert to rainforest to safari they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. They were skillful, organized, and fun to be around.

Incredible safari and city tour with Shanjoy - highly recommended
Our experience with Shanjoy Safaris was absolutely fantastic. The safari was incredibly well planned and smoothly organized, allowing us to fully enjoy every moment without worrying about logistics. The communication and organization through Patrick was exceptional!
In addition, Patrick spent a lot of time with us guiding us through Nairobi with highlights like the Giraffe Centre and deep local and cultural experiences like visiting Kibera. From start to finish, the service was excellent, and we truly felt in safe hands the entire time. We would gladly travel with Shanjoy Safaris again and highly recommend them to anyone visiting Kenya.

Exceptional quality staff & experience
Family group 10 day tour of Kenya, Tanzania with Zanzibar added to itinerary. Adults including 20 y.o son's.

Communication via WhatsApp with Martin was prompt, easy to discuss what our preference for accommodation We aimed for mid level but felt all the accommodation was 4+, higher quality than expected.
Additional request accommodated, arranged local tours in Nairobi prior to Safari as arrived earlier.
Guides Patrick through Kenya - had also guided our friends earlier in the year. Such informative person on animals and Birdlife. Excellent driving on difficult to roads and through traffic. Listened to our request on few minor changes. Well dressed, we respected his advice.
Amos was our Tanzanian guide- less time with him but also superior knowledge, driving skills. Excellent eyesight for spotting animals. Well dressed, genuine too.
Highly recommend both guide- they are an important part of the Safari experience.Commication was always clear, always prepated.

I had some ideas about national parks etc. Discussed with Martin and so glad I listened to his recommendation.
This was my major wish and it exceeded my expectations. The animals, I could watch all day. We saw all the usual and more. Bat eared fox family, families of cheetah, amazing birds, leopard tortoise and the rhinoceros. Food, all high quality even in the Serengeti. More than you can eat.
Safety was important to me, especially bringing my family. We never had any concerns. Safes in all accommodation. The staff were so polite, kind. Enjoyed our conversation with different people about their lives etc.
It is expensive for Australians( paying in US$) but most of the cost was upfront so I knew and paid severely prior. Also we added a relaxing holiday on Zanzibar -Breezes spoilt us with beautiful beach view.
Additional costs include tipping and drinks.
It was worth every cent for the seamless, security and experience.

Amazing customer experience, and an exceptional tour guide (Rio)!!
This was our first trip to Africa and we wanted to have the best experience possible. There are so many tour operators that it made it difficult to select as they all seemed to offer similar experiences. We selected Sanjoy Tours because they separated themselves from the rest with their prompt responses and their willingness to customize our experience. We had 3 incredible days with our tour guide Rio. My wife and I really enjoyed his knowledge of the local culture and animals, and his ability to get us in front of the animals that we wanted to see most. He ev got us up close to a baby elephant (that my wife had been wanting from day 1). We look forward to bringing out entire family back and we can only hope that Rio is still there to give that same experience to our kids😄

A professional and helpful team that gave us an incredible safari experience
We had an excellent experience with Shanjoy, we booked an 8 day safari covering Kenya and Tanzania and everything went well since our first communication for booking and planning, responses were always quick and thorough. Beth and the team at the office stayed in contact with us throughout our trip to make sure all went as planned.
Our first guide on the Kenyan side, Rio, was very professional and knowledgeable, we were able to see a great variety of animals on our first days thanks to his expertise. Besides English and Swahili, he is also fluent in Spanish and German son communication was never an issue.
On the Tanzanian side, our guide Isaac was also very professional and helpful and always quick to spot animals in the bush, he is also a mountain guide so he has a lot of experience in the field.
Back in Kenya, our last guide Tio was very friendly and talkative, and overall all the staff made sure that our experience was excellent in every way.
Would 100% recommend Shanjoy for your next safari!

A wonderfully prepared and delivered experience for a lifetime!
We thoroughly enjoyed our safari with Shanjoy Tours and Safaris. We knew we wanted to find a tour operator to arrange a trip starting in Nairobi, including Masai Mara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. We chose the tour operator after contacting several providers on this route. From the beginning, Shanjoy offered the most attractive price-performance ratio, their offer was perfectly prepared and presented, and their representative Rodah was always available for questions and minor adjustments. Patrick accompanied us on the Kenyan side and Isaya on the Tanzanian side. Both had exceptional knowledge of the local nature and the animals we were tracking, they could read their behavior, predict how the situation would develop, communicate with other guides and rangers, and always ensure we had the best possible experience. This was not our first safari trip to East Africa, but we are leaving with truly beautiful memories and lots of incredible photos. During our trip, which lasted only a few days, we saw the complete Big Five and Ugly Five. The Serengeti in particular exceeded all our expectations, with such an abundance of animals, including observing well over 100 lions, several leopards, and many others, often at close range, which we never dreamed of... We chose the mid-range safari option, and the accommodation we selected met all our needs. We felt that both guides took excellent care of us, and Rodah kept us backed from afar, regularly checking in to see how our trip was going and always ready to resolve even the smallest issue. I can recommend Shanjoy with a clear conscience, and when I want to return to this area, I will gladly turn to them again.

We had an incredible once in a lifetime adventure thanks to Shanjoy, Beth, Rio, Izack, and Steve!
My family and I had the pleasure of traveling with Shanjoy Tours recently! I spent quite a bit of time initially researching and reaching out to multiple tour agencies. However, I was most impressed with Beth’s prompt replies, kindness, and willingness to assist me in customizing the perfect itinerary for my family. Beth went above and beyond with the whole itinerary and particularly picked amazing lodges that were suitable for my older parents and catered to the whole family’s dietary preferences! It is also very convenient that Shanjoy operates in both Kenya and Tanzania, allowing seamless transfers between the two countries.
The tour itself was incredible. We spent the first part of our trip in Kenya and explored Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara with our guide Rio. Rio was friendly to talk to, knowledgeable about animals, and showed us the big 5 and a cheetah in Kenya! Rio was also very flexible with our itinerary, and always debriefed us in the morning to ensure we had the perfect agenda daily.
Next, we went to Serengeti with our guide Izack, who was so patient and brilliant at spotting wildlife. On our second morning, he took us to see the Great Migration and got us to a prime viewing spot! The Migration itself was amazing and easily one of the highlights of the whole trip. Despite some car issues, Izack made sure we were always safe and saw as many animals as possible. In Serengeti / Ngorongoro Crater we saw most of big 5 again, as well as lions mating, servals cats, cheetahs, elephants and many more animals! When we left Tanzania and Izack, we were genuinely sad and felt like we were saying goodbye to a family member. In Serengeti, we stayed in luxury tents within the park, that were such a unique and fun experience.
Finally, we ended our trip back in Kenya at Amboseli National Park. Our final tour guide was Steve, who was friendly and helpful. While there were not too many animals other than elephants to see in Amboseli, we throughly enjoyed our time at Kibo Safari Camp. The camp was lovely, and the food was amazing with endless vegetarian options. The Indian chef, Charles, made us fresh naan, chili paneer, mutter paneer, fried rice, uttapam, and many more delicious Indian dishes.
Overall, we had an incredible once in a lifetime adventure thanks to Shanjoy Tours, Beth, Rio, Izack, and Steve!

From the very beginning, Martin has been attentive, reactive and has always answered the few millions questions I had :) !
He has planned the perfect itinerary so that my best friend and I would enjoy Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Lake Navaisha, Amboseli and Diani Beach.
The trip was very well organized, everything went smoothly : transportation, accommodation, food...
