Awesome five days
My friends and I had an amazing time hiking Mount Kenya with the Hyrax Safaris crew. All eight members of the team made the entire trip comfortable, enjoyable and truly memorable. The organisation was excellent, the food was great, and the value for money was very good.
Having already travelled around Kenya extensively, we were especially impressed by the crew. They were reliable, professional and genuinely friendly, and we really enjoyed exchanging cultural experiences and hearing about their lives and stories. The conversations around the campfire were some of the highlights of the trip. No one ever mentioned or expected a tip, which made us even happier to give one at the end. We would absolutely recommend Hyrax Safaris to anyone looking for a well-organised, reliable and genuinely enjoyable Mount Kenya experience.

Splendid organisation of the tour with a heartful team
The office is very responsive on WhatsApp and open to any questions about the tour. The drive to/from the hotel is very reliable and on point with good drivers. The team on the tour readily answer any questions regarding the tour/animals/scenery/food and are very hearty people and fun to spend a few days with. For the price you pay you get that and more than expected. Can only recommend! Thanks to the team of Daniel, Naftaly, Stephen, Simon, Stephen, Sammy, Mary and Stella for the wonderful experience!

Emmah Is professional. He knows what he Is doing. He has got sharp eyes, knowledge and patience.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the service from Hyrax. We had a private safari, so the car was just for the two of us, and they accommodated us with the timing and arranged our transfer from the airport to our accommodation. In the end, there was no problem extending our safari by an extra day, along with a trip we came up with later. Our guide, Emmah, was a professional — always answered our follow-up questions and would, on their own initiative, point out what we were seeing, why we were seeing it, and how it fit into the safari. Overall, I'm very happy.

We had an amazing experience with Hyrax Safaris from start to finish. Communication before the trip was always quick, clear, and helpful, and every question we had was answered promptly.
Our guide was outstanding—professional, experienced, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife. Thanks to him, we saw the entire Big Five, as well as cheetahs with a cub, a leopard, elephants, giraffes, hippos, and many other amazing animals. He was patient, never rushed us, and always tried to give us the best possible wildlife sightings.
The itinerary was well organized, the accommodations were comfortable, and everything ran smoothly throughout the safari. We also appreciated the flexibility when adding a Lake Naivasha trip during our journey.
This safari exceeded our expectations and gave us unforgettable memories. We highly recommend Hyrax Safaris to anyone looking for a reliable company, excellent value for money, and a truly memorable safari experience.

Amazing experience climbing Mount Kenya
Would really recommend doing your climb with Hyrax. We were not quite experienced in climbing, but the crew helped us a lot. Checking that everyone drinks and eats enough and is enjoying their time. It is an amazing experience and the Daniels are very nice guides

Professional guidance and a great experience
The whole experience was very good. From the start in Nairobi until the summit and back to Nairobi. The guides were professional and very helpfull and fun! There was enough good food and the water supply never ended. I found it important that our guides where checking if we drank enough, at enough and felt well. So that was great. Our guide Daniel was awesome and we would recommend to book at Hyrax safaris.

Mt Kenya, Lenana Pt - well organized, great guide
Hyrax, my guide Daniel and his team picked me up from Nairobi airport at 6am and got me to the top of Lenana Pt on Mt Kenya at 6am exactly 48 hours later. Transport and transfers were well organised. Daniel was super helpful and his cook and porter were great. The Chogoria route is really beautiful, highly recommend. It is a challenging climb, don't underestimate altitude acclimatization,and consider a private transfer if you are not accustomed to shared public transport. Could not have done it without Daniel and team!!!

Trustworthy and knowledgeable tour operator
We booked in a friends refference 5 night 6 days tour with hyrax . We were booking remotely , from other side of the world , unsure on what would be good, We did compared few other travel agency , but felt hyrax very responsive and reasonable. They were transparent and suggestive in planning the tour.
After the initial wire transfer , they were responsive in sending the hotel booking receipt and we're in constant communication through the trip .
In safari the most important part is the guide and out guide Ben was very nice . He is knowledge, respectful and most important, trustworthy in this unknown country . We highly recommend Ben and hyrax travel .
