An Extraordinary First Safari Experience
We are relaxing on a gorgeous beach in Zanzibar, reflecting on our extraordinary 14-day African safari adventure with Sunset Adventure Safaris. What an unforgettable experience!
A huge thank you to Emma and the entire Sunset Adventure Safaris team for making our African safari dream come true! From the moment I first reached out to several safari companies, Emma’s prompt responses, thorough communication, and attention to detail gave me confidence that Sunset Adventure Safaris was the right choice. The organization, communication, and care throughout the entire experience exceeded my expectations.
Our driver and guide, Yohana, was absolutely outstanding! He navigated the rugged terrain like a pro and shared a wealth of knowledge about the wildlife, national parks, and local culture. Most importantly, he was attentive, thoughtful, friendly, and incredibly funny. We thoroughly enjoyed his company!
Yohana also did an amazing job keeping our surprise sunrise hot-air balloon excursion a complete secret! Throughout our daily game drives, he seemed to have a knack for finding the most incredible wildlife encounters. From tracking down the elusive leopard high in a tree, to discovering 11 different prides of lions, spotting a pair of cheetahs, and finally finding rhinos—the last of the Big Five for us—on our very last day of safari, he continually surprised and delighted us.

While the incredible wildlife was undoubtedly the star of our 14-day adventure, there were so many other memorable highlights. Our bike tour through Mto wa Mbu village gave us a wonderful glimpse into authentic village life, and the breathtaking sunrise balloon ride over the Serengeti, followed by a champagne breakfast, was truly magical. It was an extremely early start, but absolutely worth it!
The accommodations and food throughout our journey were fantastic. A few places particularly stood out:
* Heart & Soul Lodge, Lake Manyara: Beautiful grounds and the most amazing staff, who made us feel so welcome.
* Marera Valley Lodge: A huge bedroom, a lovely private balcony with a view, a beautiful pool surrounded by lush gardens, and delicious food.
* Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort: Exceptional staff, outstanding service, delicious food, and beautiful surroundings. It was the perfect place to unwind and end our once-in-a-lifetime African adventure.
We are leaving Tanzania with incredible memories, a deeper appreciation for its remarkable wildlife and culture, and immense gratitude for the people who made this journey so special.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Emma and her extraordinary team at Sunset Adventure Safaris to anyone dreaming of an African safari. From the initial planning to the final day, they delivered an exceptional experience that exceeded our expectations in every way.

An Unforgettable Journey Through Tanzania and Zanzibar – Perfectly Organized from Start to Finish!
From October 4th to 18th, we enjoyed an absolutely wonderful trip through Tanzania and Zanzibar, organized by Sunset Adventure Safari. And what an incredible experience it was!
From our very first contact, we had a great feeling about this company. Their website is clear and easy to navigate, and requesting a travel proposal is very straightforward. Our itinerary was fully customized to our personal wishes.
We communicated with Emma, who speaks Dutch, which made everything even easier for us. She was absolutely wonderful! Emma always responded quickly to our questions, provided helpful advice, and made sure we were well prepared. We received detailed information, useful tips about Tanzania and Zanzibar, and a comprehensive packing checklist. A few days before departure, we received all the final details. Everything was perfectly organized.
And then our adventure in Tanzania began, with Sele as our driver and guide. What an amazing person!
From the moment Sele picked us up at Kilimanjaro Airport, we felt completely at ease. Sele is not only an outstanding guide but also an incredibly kind, thoughtful, and caring person.
He was always perfectly on time, the safari vehicle was spotlessly clean every single day, and there was always plenty of drinking water available. Lunch boxes? Taken care of! Practical arrangements? All sorted! We genuinely didn't have to worry about a thing. Sele thought of everything, often before we even had the chance to ask.
He is an excellent and careful driver, has an incredible knowledge of wildlife and nature, and shared so much interesting information with us during our safaris. We also noticed how helpful and supportive he was towards his fellow guides, which says a lot about his character.
But what truly made Sele special was his personality. He went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. He was always cheerful, attentive, and great company. We also shared wonderful conversations and lots of laughter during our meals together.
Sele became so much more to us than just a driver and guide. He played such an important part in making our journey truly special. Saying goodbye to him was genuinely emotional.
Sele, thank you so much for everything! You will always have a special place in our hearts. ❤️
After our safari adventure, we continued our journey to Zanzibar. Once again, everything was perfectly arranged. Upon arrival, Liz welcomed us at the airport and took us to our first accommodation in Stone Town. The following day, we explored the city with a local guide. Later that afternoon, we were transferred to our next accommodation, where we spent the final relaxing days of our holiday. Our transfer back to the airport on departure day was also perfectly organized.
What impressed us most was how smoothly everything went, from our very first contact with Emma to our final moments in Zanzibar. We never had to worry about anything and could simply enjoy all the beauty Tanzania and Zanzibar have to offer.
Sunset Adventure Safari exceeded all our expectations. A professional, reliable company with a personal touch and truly wonderful people.
Emma, thank you for organizing such an amazing journey. And Sele, thank you for making our safari an experience we will treasure forever!

An Amazing Adventure!
Don't know where to start, Our trip was amazing! From the planning stages with Emma, going back and forth with the planning, she was great. We had multiple iterations and she took our input and created an amazing adventure. The day before we departed our flights got cancelled, we were now going to arrive 2 to 3 days later. I got in touch with Emma (flights were on us) and she was willing to try to get refunds for those missed days. In the end we booked another flight and arrived hours later than the original plan. Thank you for everything you did Emma.
The safari was more than we ever imagined. We did a 7 day safari with another 5 days at Zanzibar. We visited the following National parks, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Northern Serengeti (for the great migration), Ngorongoro. There was no shortage of animals to see. We even witnessed 2 crossings in Northern Seregeti. Our driver/guide Patrick was amazing, very knowledgeable on the animals, plants, and birds. He knew how to position us for some great shots. We saw 4 of the 5 big five on the 1st day and the elusive Rino on the last day at Ngorongoro National Park. Thank you Patrick for making this a trip we'll never forget! You were fantastic.
My Blue in Zanzibar was nice. Needed some time after the safari to just relax. the resort and beach were very nice, the food was good and staff was very accommodating, making you feel right at home. Thank you Sunset Adventure Safari for making this a trip we;ll never forget!

We did all our planning with Emma & Sarah of Sunset Adventure Safari. They were totally helpful in molding the perfect safari experience for us including places to stay and excursions and also the timing of the great migration which we witnessed 3 times in one day. They provided us with a wonderful driver named Sele who got us to all the right areas so that we would see the "Big Five" and more and also as I had mentioned before to witness the great migration all 3 times from start to finish. We have just returned from the most incredible safari holiday to Tanzania, and we cannot thank Sunset Adventure Safaris enough for creating what truly was the trip of a lifetime. Every single aspect of the journey was executed flawlessly, leaving us with memories that will stay with us forever.
From the very beginning, the organization was faultless thanks to Emma, who liaised brilliantly with us from start to finish. During the planning stages, she took the time to genuinely understand what we were trying to achieve. She was exceptionally patient, crafting multiple drafts in response to all our tweaks regarding locations, durations, and accommodation options. What we appreciated most was her complete honesty about what the experience would look like on the ground; she skillfully guided us on where we could compromise for budget reasons without ever sacrificing the overall magic of the trip. What was built and agreed upon represented phenomenal value. Emma also advised on our flights and seamlessly tailored all of our arrival and transfer arrangements. Communication was consistently prompt, timely, and helpful—nothing was ever too much trouble.
When we arrived, our actual experience didn’t just live up to our high expectations; it completely surpassed them. We felt like we were on our own exclusive, private break. Everything worked like clockwork, and the accommodation every single night was of exceptionally high quality.
Our driver and guide, Omari, quite simply made our holiday. Within just a few hours of meeting him, Omari felt less like a guide and more like part of the family. He tailored each day around what we wanted to see, offering expert suggestions while keeping our schedule completely flexible—our start and end times were always entirely up to us. Omari seemed to know the exact heartbeat of every region we visited. His extraordinary expertise, tracking skills, and bush knowledge consistently got us to wildlife sightings and hidden spots that other groups seemed to be struggling to find.
We were also delighted that we chose to include many of the optional trips available. The walking safaris were a absolute highlight, providing a fascinating, ground-level perspective that perfectly broke up the vehicle-based game drives. Visiting a local community and spending time in a Maasai village added rich cultural depth to our journey, ensuring our itinerary was wonderfully diverse and well-rounded.
Then came the Serengeti—and it changed everything. It was breathtakingly beautiful, and it was here that we felt we witnessed nature at its absolute truest. The hours and days flew by in a blur of spectacular landscapes and unforgettable wildlife encounters.

An unforgettable experience
We can highly recommend Sunset Adventure Safaris, and we already have! Emma really listened to our wishes and put together a wonderful trip for our group, ranging in age from 13 to 79. During the trip she was also always helpful and easy to reach via WhatsApp whenever we had questions.
Our safari guide and driver was fantastic. He was friendly, knew a lot about the animals and was an excellent spotter (seen a lot of animals including the big5).
We had an amazing trip and made some great memories!

Truly amazing company to deal with offering memories for a lifetime
Outstanding service and communication throughout from Emma at Sunset Adventure Safari. Our family of 5 had the trip of a lifetime and have already recommended this company to many of our friends. Emma was always quick to respond to any of of multiple queries and tailored our safari specifically to our needs. They have a small number of their own vehicles and handpicked drivers. Ours (Abraham) was the kindest and most knowledgeable guide with incredible life story so far! He surpassed all our expectations in delivering a truly unforgettable safari with so many close encounters! The pricing was really competitive a far cheaper than any UK offerings. You have a fabulous team and cannot recommend you guys enough. Thank you for exceeding our expectations and giving us the most special memories!

Good
Pros:Emma was fantastic in getting the itenary for our large group of 12 people.
Competitive price. Good hotels and fantastic food were selected.
Biggest drawback: We were provided two vehicles and two drivers for a group of 12 people
Adam was fantastic and the vehicles quality was very good.
Second vehicle provided was of very poor quality..The roof in the front was not opened the first day claiming its not safe as it was not in good condition..
Radio communication was not working hence we were depending entirely on Adams vehicle for navigating to the correct spots..
There was breakdown of the vehicle twice with problem in the same type..we had to spend our valuable game drive time in car garage to fix them.
Thankfully the final breakdown of vehicle happened 100 metres from the airport (our final ride).If this had happened in middle of the game reserve it would have been a big disaster.
Car breakdowns can happen but providing vehicle in substandard quality was not ideal.

Magical safari and beach vacation
Emma and Sarah set up the perfect Tanzanian adventure for us. They worked with us to customize exactly what we wanted and made great suggestions on accommodations and tours. Our driver, Patrick, was wonderful. He had a real knack for finding all the animals we wanted to see and was very knowledgeable about the plants and animals we saw. He seemed genuinely excited with each find right along with us. The balloon ride in the Serengeti was amazing. We did 7 days on safari in all the northern circuit parks. All of the accommodations were great and a couple were beyond our expectations. We finished our holiday with 4 nights on Zanzibar. The beach resort we stayed at was amazing with a room overlooking the crystal clear Indian Ocean. It was a perfect way to unwind after the excitement of the safari. We would definitely recommend Sunset Adventure Safari to everyone.
