They made one of my lifelong dreams come true!
I spent much time researching for this safari as it's been a dream since childhood to see chimps and gorillas in the wild. I had such high expectations that I thought would never be matched. But they were! Completely! Peter, my driver and guide, was wonderful. In fact, I wince at calling him a driver or guide as he actually became a friend. We saw so much more than just the big apes. A fascinating cultural village, the golden monkeys, the safari drives, the canoeing on the lake etc. The accommodation arranged by Big Apes Africa were fantastic. I seem to remember them being called 'budget', when I booked up, but they were far superior to anything I would call budget. Upper mid-range would be more fitting. Always clean rooms, incredible customer service and very generous servings of food. Peter went above and beyond, giving great advice on how to enjoy each of the tours and always providing extra services such as making sure my shoes were clean, lol! He's an intelligent man with many interesting stories, who remains very calm and collected in all situations. We also had some great lunches in various local restaurants which are also all included in the price. If any of my friends or relatives were travelling to Uganda/Rwanda, I would 100% recommend Big Apes Africa. It was without doubt, worth every single penny, and then some!

Best trip!
I had such a wonderful time in East Africa and can't wait to go back! I worked with Abbey to help plan my trip and since I was starting as a solo female traveler, I had a lot of questions and he completely put me at ease! He was incredibly responsive and was flexible in helping me to build a trip as I made a lot of edits to the original itinerary with no problem at all! He was a great communicator the entire time from planning through the end of my trip when I arrived back to the US. I started in Uganda and was pleased to meet Derrick who is a gem- incredibly professional and kept me safe the entire time. We had some experiences with long drives and he was a great driver on some complicated roads. He is on top of absolutely everything and a wonderful guide. Uganda is not to be missed on your trip for sure- among the nicest people I've ever met in any of my travels. I next went to Kenya and had the pleasure of doing my own itinerary for a couple of days and then meeting Sammy who made our time in Masai mara very enjoyable. He was funny and enjoyable to be around and was so good at communicating with other drivers to ensure we saw so many animals. I seriously got the most amazing pictures during my time here. I ended in Tanzania + Zanzibar where our guide Joseph proudly took us around his home. I'm still amazed how one can have the entire Serengeti memorized- but he knows it like the back of his hand and was so kind and genuine wanting to make our time amazing which it was. Zanzibar was relaxing and a nice way to end the trip. If you are on the fence, I would definitely recommend this trip, you won't regret it!

Best experience ever
We had an absolutely amazing time with Suricata Safaris! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Our guide, Mandela, was phenomenal—knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly attentive. His passion for the wildlife and the environment was evident and added so much to our safari experience.
Our group of six felt very well taken care of throughout the journey. The accommodations were comfortable and well-maintained, providing a perfect balance of luxury and immersion in nature. The staff at each location were consistently attentive and professional, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction.
The safari itself was breathtaking, with unforgettable encounters with the diverse and majestic wildlife. Mandela's expertise and keen eye for spotting animals made every moment exciting and educational. We felt safe and well-informed at all times, allowing us to fully enjoy the beauty and wonder of the safari.
We cannot recommend Suricata Safaris enough. This experience exceeded all our expectations, and we are already dreaming of our next adventure with them. Thank you to Mandela and the entire team for making this a trip of a lifetime!

Amazing day safari
The Safari was amazing. It was an incredible experience filled with unforgettable moments and breathtaking sights. We are truly grateful for the opportunity. Holle was an amazing guide and did his utmost best to find different animals for us to see.
Unfortunately we had to wait a while before we could take a plane back to the national airport, but that wasn’t that bad

Magic moments in Tanzania
We had an amazing 3 day Safari experience with Kanje! We started our Safari on the 4th of June, where we got picked up by our very experienced guide and driver Amani from our hotel in Arusha. During our stay, we have visited Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater, camped in tents, eaten amazing home cooked meals made by the cooks, the vibe of the trip has been so fun and knowledge full, learning about the wild life and history of the area from Amani and dancing and talking in the camps. We traveled with my 5 year old son. It was very child friendly and my son loved it! We would definently do it again. The trip has been amazing!
