As we were shopping around, we quickly discovered that Hyrax was timely and detailed in their responses, ensuring we had every question answered in a satisfactory manner. In fact, we ran into a snag with the lodge operator and Hyrax acted swiftly to find us a suitable alternative, (and even had the original lodge grant us a complementary experience), so that our overall experience was not tainted. Finally, the driver (Ben) was world-class. With his numerous years of experience, he was able to deftly navigate the Mara while sharing expert insights. Thanks to him, we saw soooo many animals and got picturesque memories that will last a lifetime. 10/10 experience!!!

Meektrails staff are very responsive and absolutely want you to get the best experience possible.
For the most part the accommodations were very nice, communication was punctual and the parks were each amazing in their own way (of course we have our favorites: Amboseli and Lake Nakuru--make sure you get the hike around Crescent Island included). Get ready for a lot of time in the vehicle (though it has a pop-up roof for better viewing) both in getting to the park and then all day around the park. There are some breaks built in and the guides are sensitive to the needs of the travelers, but getting out hiking when there are lions (and other mega fauna) about is just not an option. The roads to some of the parks and inside the park are rigorous...these are not theme parks where everything is groomed and the "attractions" are waiting for you...be patient and just know that your driver wants you to have the best experience possible...communicate completely and be thorough with the guide when you get there b/c you don't know what you don't know until you have boots on the ground. Enjoy!

Unprofessional Tour Operator - suspect him of cheating on money
The driver and the guide (not sure if the person was a guide as he did not volunteer with any information or describe any game through the two and a half days) couldn’t have been worse . Took us more than 10 hours to reach Emaiyan Camp from Nairobi , as we were brought in from an inconvenient road - Sekenani Gate is what should have been used , we came through Talek gate (which you must avoid if you are getting to your stay place). As we reached the gate at 5 pm (after starting at 830 am at Nairobi airport - we did breaks of about 60-90 mins total on the way) , the driver took a transit pass - which is free of charge . However , our driver took 100 USD per person (5 of us were there ) - taking money like this is cheating (to me !) .
Emaiyan Camp was great - always out to make you comfortable . And the game sightings were also great - made for a great trip overall , despite bonfire !

We had a 5 day safari with our tour guide JOJO, who is knowledgeable about animals, cultures, and environment in Tanzania. It was an awesome experience to explore national parks in multiple ways: we took an air balloon tour in serengeti, walking safari in arusha np, and game drives in ngrongro & tarangire. Besides the trip itself, Habitat travel did great job to help us build itinerary, arrange airport pickup, and find us cellular provider so we didn’t need to worry about anything after landing. Highly recommend booking with them!

Besides being a great guide, Joseph is a safe driver and can appreciate my jokes
There's nothing like birding with a pro bird guide with recent local knowledge. That's what Joseph provided, along with very safe driving. In four days, we saw 104 species of birds from a pop-top LandCruiser. And, we saw lions, rhinos, hippos, a leopard and much more without going down to the Serengeti. We elected to stay in the Lake region due to the recent rains and a medical issue. Joseph's english is perfect and he knows everybody, everywhere we went. Note: Birders see more wildlife because we are looking harder for smaller things... so, bigger animals really standout.
