Excellent safari choice day trip to Terengere National park withMali Kale Africa Safaris
5/5

We booked our day trip online, everthing went fine, Richard greeted us day before and introduce with driver and give us breef about the trip. The next day we kick off, sharp at 6am in big safari jeep, they collected lunch on the way which was by the way delicious. After 2+h we arrived at NP. The driver was exscelent carring, and had good eye to spot anymals in the park. He realy put effort and we have seen enough of diferent animals for that day, maybe we were lucky as I am most of the time, so this time as well:). Just joking bit, great choice and I would use them again and highly recomend to people who search for safari company.

Wonderful and amazing

The service was excellent. They were considerate and caring. They made sure that everyone was alright and had enough water and food for the whole group. I got to learn a lot about Hell's Gate as we walked through the gorges.

Nice 3.5 day trip to Lake Navasha/Masai Mara (booked on very short notice)
5/5

A friend referred several safari operators for us.

We, a couple around 30 years old, wrote all of them via email.

Fika Safari responded rather quickly and offered a reasonable price.
Circa 10 friendly e-mails and a few days later everything was set.

The following week, we had a awesome Safari experience in Kenya.

We would clearly recommend this operator

Wonderful Safari experience
5/5

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Stephen and his team from Kichaka once again for a wonderful Safari experience which exceeded our expectations.
This was my second Safari in Kenya, my last Safari with another local company was a disaster, the other company just left us to our fates at the beginning of the journey in the Masai Mara. After this traumatising Safari I still wanted to give it another try. I wanted to have good memories of Kenya and a Safari. So I started to search for a reliable local company once again, I like to book through local companies because I want that the money I spent to go fully to the locals. We were very suspicious because of my last safari experience but Kichaka was patient, professional and trustworthy.

We booked with them a 15 days Safari and beach holiday. Our driver guide Joseph had eagle eyes and was always punctual and drove safely, we appreciated his quiet demeaneor. We were very lucky on this safari and got to see all the big five and many more animals, we saw four leopards and eight rhinos etc.
The parks we visited were:
Lake Nakuru (Sopa Lodge)
Masai Mara (Keekorok)
Lake Naivasha (Sopa Lodge)
Amboseli ( Kibo Safari Camp)
Tsavo West and East (Voi Wildlife Lodge)
Each park had its own character. The accommodation that Kichaka selected for us was exceptional. Each Camp/Lodge had something different to offer: the view, the animals in the garden, a hippo pool behind the lodge, waterhole in front of the lodge.
The next time I am in Kenya I will 100% use the services of Kichaka again. Asante sana for a wonderful safari.

Very professional even if some mistakes occurred
4/5

It was perfect, really intense week !

Good lodges, even I would have appreciate to spend 2 nights in lake Mutanda instead of 1.

You forgot to book the lion tracking but hopefully we spotted them without it and I’ve been refunded so no complain.

The only real bad point was the guide because he wasn’t, he was a driver. We never spent time with him and he told us he was not here to entertain. Only gave departure hour, no more. But he is a great driver (Sam)

Tanzania Choice Safaris provided a wonderful experience for our family that includes two small children. Tailoring the accommodations and itinerary to suit our family's needs, they went out of their way to ensure our trip was memorable. Thank you Brenda and Kakasii!

About: Lake Ziway
A paradise of birds
Overall rating
4/5

At about 45km from Lake Langano, going in the direction of Addis Ababa Capital, it is possible to stop in the small town of Zua which is an excellent starting point for visiting Lake Ziway.

Zua is a tiny, fervent town of humanity and although the primary goal is to visit Lake Ziway it can also be interesting to spend some time observing the frenetic activity of the population intent on daily activities.

It is possible to visit the lake by boat, rented by one of the many fishermen who will be happy to take you around in exchange for an appropriate fee, but for those who did not have too much time and wanted to see the largest number of endemic species the advice is to take a walk through one of Zua's piers.

With a short walk you can see many species of birds that frequent the pier or its surroundings, looking for food. The first, and the one with the greatest impact, is certainly the African Marabou, a large bird belonging to the Ciconiidae family, which, however, has very little of the beauty of its most famous cousins, the white storks. The Marabou has, more or less, the same size of the stork but the similarities end there: the beak is definitely larger and less graceful and the head looks like a bald head on which grows a disordered tuft of hair. In addition to being unattractive, Marabou also has a "questionable" diet, feeding, mostly, corpses. On the other hand brilliantly fulfills his role as a sweeper for which it is tolerated and is not bothered by the natives.

In addition to the Marabou it is possible to see small groups of Pelicans, who are often attracted by the fishermen in the port who throw fish scraps, the Alopochen aegyptiaca, more commonly known as "Egyptian goose", of the friendly Scopus Umbretta, small hammer-headed birds and , finally, of the beautiful Martin Pescatori.

Passing an hour on the pier you can see many species but if you want to deepen the visit, with a motor boat and a few hours available, you can enjoy a relaxing trip with which to observe many species of birds.

Professional tour planning with a local operator
5/5

Tongesai provided professional service with excellent communications to arrange our three day Hwange safari at Sable Sands. Tongesai and his company can arrange many different personalized trip itineraries and tours, but we only had him help with the safari booking and transport to Sable Sands. He provided clean, safe transport with excellent driving (he drove us himself). Sable Sands itself is an excellent safari lodge with professional guides that we greatly enjoyed. Sitting at dinner watching the staff encourage elephants to move off the lodge grounds, and being kept awake listening to elephants splashing in the water hole and trumpeting outside our hut is a particular memory.
In all, we felt Cultural Vibes provided a good value and professional booking service. Payment was simple using a secure bank payment system (a sort of PayPal), and much cheaper than bank transfers. Tongesai also has a shop in the Elephant Walk shopping area, and we got some batik table runners there.
