Three Days to Remember.
Having visited Tsavo East National Park in 1992 I always vowed to bring my wife to the park and experience the wildlife, scenery and hospitality that the staff at the lodges offer. We were not disappointed all the lodges we stayed in were superb and our guide who we booked with JT Safaris was exceptional.

Exceeded my expectations with the variety of wildlife, including jaguar, lions, rhinos, & hippos
I went on two game drives--one in the evening and another early in the morning. If you have a choice I would recommend the morning drive as you are much more likely to see a pride or two. The guides were both humorous and knowledgeable (and well connected with others around the park who had spotted other wildlife) and the transportation comfortable, with a stop for bio-breaks, food, & souvenir shopping midway through the drive. As expected, we encountered many elephants, rhinos, hippos, gazelle, etc. But I was delighted to encounter the lions and to spot two jaguar. An unforgettable and strongly recommended day trip from the strange colony that is Sun City.

Combine the crater with the Serengeti and you really see incredible variety of animals and a good chance viewing all of the big 5.

If you are patience and are prepared to get up early in the mornings you will boast you chances of spotting wildlife.

4 day safari
Just before Christmas, we went for a four-day safari with Northern Circuit. It was a perfect experience. We flew to Kilimanjaro airport, where some-one was waiting for us. In Arusha, Michael told us how everything was going to work. We had a jeep for the five of us, with our own cook and driver. The food we had there, was the best during our whole stay in Tanzania. We slept two days in tented camps (perfect accomodation, you have your own bed, toilet and shower per tent) and two days in smalll tents, in the middle of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We saw the big five and a lot more (big migration). We felt very comfortable. Northern Circuit Adventure is very much recommended by me. Michael responds very quick at questions send to him by mail. He is nice guy. The safari was very good value for money.

Fantastic service and knowledge
From the moment I was met at the airport by Sylvester and Nicholas, to when Nicholas and I returned to Nairobi, I have nothing but good things to say about this company. The communication leading up to when I arrived in Kenya was excellent - and often was just checking that there was nothing more that I wanted to know. Once on safari itself (we did four national parks/reserves), Nicholas couldn't have been more helpful as a driver/guide. His knowledge of animals, plant life and birds is extraordinary. I especially liked that he talked to other drivers on the CB to find out which spots were 'hot' with animals to see. He even pulled an Africanised Bee stinger out of my back - that definitely is going beyond the call of duty. I'd use these guys again in a heartbeat.

More than just a safari
This was more than just a wild animal safari--although we saw many more animals than we expected, and in their natural habitat. We have fond memories of the night sounds in the safari camp...the distant roaring of the lions and the morning wake-up call of the superb starling. We watched genets in the rafters in the evening and dik diks outside the door as we drank our morning coffee. Alex and Allen, our two guides, also focused on many social aspects of Africa. We visited a self-sustaining orphanage founded and run by a local Masai nurse, a new high school in Arusha and a facility for disabled artists, using recycled materials. We were privileged to listen to a newly formed Masai Women's choir singing African music in the Marti's Lutheran church and to visit several indigenous societies, including a Masai village, a Datoga tribe making jewelry from found metal objects and the elusive Hadza hunter gatherer tribe. Our guides were very knowledgeable not only about the ecology of the animals and the land but also the history of Tanzania and of the lives of the Tanzanian people we visited. We gained a deeper respect for both the beauty and the humanity of Tanzania, as well as the well-documented wildlife. Our experience, including the contribution of our guides' knowledge, very much exceeded our expectations.
