We had an unforgettable safari honeymoon, and it’s all thanks to our amazing guide, Lucas, and the incredible Meektrails team.
Our journey began nearly a year ago when we reached out to several safari agencies. Daniel immediately stood out with his genuine enthusiasm and passion for showcasing the beauty of Kenya. His dedication to educating visitors about this remarkable country made our decision to choose Meektrails an easy one. From there, William took over to assist with follow-ups and account-related matters. He was consistently prompt, thorough, and extremely helpful, offering great recommendations and going above and beyond to accommodate our last-minute changes and special requests.
Accommodations were another highlight of our trip. We received booking confirmations well in advance, and during our journey, we stayed at Amboseli Sopa, Lake Nakuru Sopa, and Zebra Plains Camp. Each location had its own charm, offering excellent food, service, and comfort. The friendly staff made it the perfect place to relax and unwind after long days of game drives.
What truly made our experience unforgettable, however, was our safari guide, Lucas. We were fortunate to spend Christmas with him, and it made the holiday even more special. Lucas’s vast knowledge, passion, and expertise brought the entire safari to life. Every game drive was not just a tour but an adventure, filled with learning and wonder. He did everything he could to ensure we saw all the animals on our wish list and would go out of his way to position us for the best views and photos. My husband and I had a million questions—about the wildlife, local food, culture, and people—and Lucas was incredibly patient, always listening carefully and generously sharing his insights. He’s also a very safe and cautious driver, ensuring a smooth ride despite the bumpy safari roads. We truly felt like we were spending time with a family member.
After a short week, we left with so much knowledge and so many great memories. I can’t recommend Lucas enough for anyone wanting an extraordinary safari experience that goes beyond just seeing the animals. It was truly the experience of a lifetime! Asante!

Safari and Kilimanjaro
Meru slopes is a great choice for budget experience as nothing felt budget. Almacius was very responsive and answered all our questions before the trip and customised our trip according to our wishes.
Safari:
Safari experience was amazing. Our driver/guide Andrew is a real professional! Great attitude, very organised, knows so much about animals and local vegetation. His eyesight is insane, he spored animals so far away and animals that very hiding very well. Our chef Gidion always prepared something new and so delicious. Also he has amazing attitude and created always fun and light atmosphere. Guys took amazing care of us. The best!
Kilimanjaro:
Well it was just simply dream come true. During hard times our guides Kennedy and Julius made sure not just for us to stay safe but also keep us in the best mood possible. They adjusted hiking speed according to out capabilities. They kept good company as well! Every evening we had briefings that made sure we prepared for the next day. Also wow, Kennedy knows so much about Kilimanjaro wild life and vegetation. Was super interesting to learn about this wonderful place! Also our chef cooked epic meals and every dish was different. What strikes me the most, that we were worried about the amount of food that will be available to us, so we took lots of protein bars, but wow, there was so much food we had to ask to cook less as we simply cannot eat that much. Did not touch my protein bars at all. Thanks guys!
Some negatives:
Although experience was really good, I think its important to note few things.
In our offer it was said that local sim car is included so we could have internet and etc. We did not get them. When we asked for it, there was always something - oh do you really need it for Kilimanjaro. Oh well sim card guy is somewhere, so if you want you can wait for an hour or more till he is back, but will go to Safari later in this case. However in these days its super easy and cheap to get e-sim, so just get one and there will be no problem.
Another thing to note, be aware of the tipping! Even tho the offer mentions it, the description is not accurate at all. So just read on it, there is a lot of information on how much and to whom.

Very good, guide Paul nice and knowledgeable.
Very good overall with some more than expected: day 3 plan is picnic lunch on the way back, but actually hot buffet lunch at transit hotel in Mai Maiu. Also give more opportunities to that hotel.
However , hotel pickup and drop off in the plan were not realized: we had to drag luggage to city market on day1 and from it on day3. Fortunately our hotel in Nairobi is close to the city market and light luggage, minor issue.

Highly professional tour operator with an excellent guide and fantastic accommodation
My friend and I went on a two-day safari of Ruaha National Park, staying at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge for two nights. We are a wonderful experience, thanks to our guide, Danford, the excellent service from Kihindo Tours and Safaris, and the people working at the lodge. We saw many animals, including a leopard and three cheetahs. The price for a private tour was valuable for money. I highly recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris.
