Wonderful company, guide, and accommodations!
5/5

My experience with Morning Star tours exceeded my expectations. We loved our kind and thoughtful guide and everywhere we went was beautiful. Each of the places we stayed was better than the previous one, and we saw all the animals at close distance. This company seemed to be one of the more affordable ones out there so I was really impressed with the high quality of everything. I will definitely recommend Morning Star tours to anyone looking to go on Safari in Kenya.

Professional and provided a wonderful experience
5/5

We engaged Rwindi Voyage for our gorilla trekking at Mgahinga, and we were assigned to Laban. Our communication started on WhatsApp and was smooth throughout. When we finally met Laban, he turned out to be such a wonderful person and accommodated all our requests—even showing us the community school where he teaches and arranging a coffee experience because he noticed how much our group enjoys coffee during the trip.

We also met Baraka, who was the first person I communicated with before being assigned to Laban; he was also very nice to deal with and a very polite person. Both of them personally drove us back from Uganda to Rwanda and saw us off at the airport.

The gorilla trekking experience itself was wonderful—we were lucky and managed to see the gorilla family within an hour of trekking. Apparently, we are the first Malaysian group to do this trek at Mgahinga National Park. We truly enjoyed our time with the gorillas.

Overall, it was a great experience with them—truly great people.

My experience was incredible, proving difficult to even put it in words. The fresh cuisine and the tranquil ambiance beside the beach was inexplicably soothing. The tour around the area was amazing and interesting and the value for money is perfect.

Amazing experience
5/5

I absolutely loved the experience—everything was perfect! My friend and I were staying at the Holiday Inn in Dar es Salaam, and our driver picked us up at 5 a.m. to take us to the train station. The tickets had already been arranged for us, which made things super convenient. The train ride to Morogoro took about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Once we arrived, another driver was already waiting with a very comfortable car. The drive to Mikumi National Park took around two hours, mainly due to heavy truck traffic on the road.

Our safari guide was ready and waiting when we got there, and we immediately started the morning game drive. We saw so many animals—more than I expected! Giraffes, zebras, lots of elephants, hippos, two female lions, wildebeests, warthogs (Pumbas!), and more.

After that, we had a delicious lunch and then continued with the afternoon game drive. When it ended, our driver was there to take us back to the train station, where we waited for our train back to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival around 10 p.m., another driver was ready to bring us back to our hotel.

It was a long day, but absolutely worth it! Communication throughout was easy and smooth—they stayed in touch with us via WhatsApp the whole time. Also, the cost of the tour was a bit lower than others I had compared, which was a nice bonus.

Perfect
5/5

I've just returned from a trip to Kenya, and it was an unforgettable experience. I saw so many amazing animals, and the hotels I stayed in were the most beautiful I've ever experienced. The itinerary was perfectly planned. Bobu Travel Agency and our guide Fredrick provided us with an incredible experience that we'll cherish for the rest of our lives. I'm already looking forward to bringing my family back there someday.

Perfect trip, all satisfying and the guide could not be better! Been traveling with this company several years in a row and can not express how much I enjoy having Barack (tour guide) with us. He does the little extra every single time!

5/5

This tour was great for the value of money. Tour guide Evans was very friendly and informative. Accommodation and food was alright and met the standard of a budget tour.

My family get to see 4 of the big 5 in two days at Maasai Mara and we are quite happy.

Nice and never forget event
5/5

I would like to sincerely thank the travel agency for organizing such a memorable and well-managed trip. Everything was planned with great professionalism and attention to detail. A special appreciation goes to Paul, the staff member assigned to us by the company. His knowledge, friendly nature, and dedication truly enhanced our experience. He was always ready to help and made sure we were comfortable and well-informed throughout the journey.

One thing we’ll never forget is his signature phrase — “Not Today” — which always brought a smile to our faces and became a fun part of our adventure. Paul’s energy and attitude made a lasting impression on all of us.

Thank you once again to the entire team for making this trip so enjoyable. We’ll always remember it and will gladly recommend your services to others.

Great experience, but:
5/5

Just came back from a 7-day safari and I’m overall very happy with the experience.

As a solo traveler, I was placed in a group with clients from other agencies, which is common with smaller companies that outsource to larger ones. That said, my guide Mallissa was absolutely exceptional – professional, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful, especially for photographers. If you're reading this and booking your tour, I highly recommend checking if you can be placed with him.

From the agency side, Hellen was incredibly supportive. In the months leading up to the trip, she answered all my questions promptly and even texted me every day during the safari – something I truly appreciated.

However, I’d like to highlight a few downsides and offer some advice for future travelers:

You will likely be traveling with people staying at different lodges or camps. This means mornings can be inefficient if others in the group are late. Even a 10-minute delay per person can cost you a valuable hour of safari time – which, given the cost of these trips, translates to a lot of wasted value. I fully understand that guides must treat clients with professionalism, but if fellow travelers are consistently late, don’t hesitate to politely speak up.

Some tourists behave inappropriately around wildlife – yelling, making noise, and showing little regard for the animals. While this might be an emotional reaction, it can disturb the animals and ruin the experience for others. If this behavior continues, I suggest calmly asking for silence. It’s important to maintain respect for both the animals and the group.

A couple of issues I encountered with the agency:

I was required to pay the tour in USD while in Tanzania, despite the fact that the use of foreign currency for local payments was officially banned in May. I was expecting to pay in Tanzanian shillings at the equivalent rate, but that was not an option. While I understand that paying in USD is still common practice, it is technically illegal and contributes to broader issues like currency instability. The agency should address this and align with local regulations.

On the last day, a different guide (not Mallissa) took me on a Kilimanjaro hike, which I highly recommend. Everything was great until the end, when the driver who helped me with my luggage at the airport asked, “Do you maybe have some money for me and my family as a tip?”
While tipping is customary in many places, the way the request was made felt uncomfortable and unprofessional to me. As a European, I believe tips should be a reward for exceptional service – as was the case with Mallissa – rather than something expected just because an employee was present for a short interaction. I assume this was a one-off, but I recommend the company train their staff on how to handle such situations more appropriately.

In conclusion, despite these minor issues, I still believe the company’s management deserves five stars. I would definitely recommend them – and especially my guide, Malissa.
