Local experience with Borbo family
I recently had a really nice experience visiting Arusha with the Borbo family. Everything was well organized, and I’m grateful I got to experience the city and village like a local.
The 4-day safari through Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro was a definite highlight—amazing wildlife, stunning landscapes, and a knowledgeable guide.
What stood out most was the family atmosphere. The Borbo family made me feel welcome: I joined them for cooking, visited the Arusha market and city center, and toured an organic coffee farm. Each activity was interesting and not overly touristic.
As a solo traveler, I appreciated the balance of adventure, culture, and comfort. I’d happily recommend the Borbo family especially to small groups or couples visiting Arusha and looking for a local, family experience. Thanks Rebecca and Emmanuel!

Wisdom was the best part!
Wisdom was an excellent tour guide and took our lead on what we wanted to see and do around the park. He made the experience so enjoyable!

Such a great tour and made even better by Wisdom! He went above and beyond for us to make our day unforgettable! Joined in with all our jokes, a great presence and showed us so many animals including the lions! Couldn’t recommend the tour or Wisdom any more highly

Allan at Back of Africa designed a bespoke 4-night private safari for my husband and I, visiting Tsavo East & West, Taita Hills and Amboseli, booking us into the lodges of our choice, and working within our budget. Allan's planning was excellent, and all his communication with us was clear and timely both before and during our time in the parks. Every moment was extraordinary, each lodge unique and perfect in its own way, and every day exceeded our expectations. We are so grateful.
What made the whole experience so perfect though was our luck in having Mr. Kombo as our driver and guide. Request him!!! We could not have asked for better. The level of service he provided was amazing - Friendly, organized, full of knowledge, highly experienced, fun and professional. We were blown away. Honestly, one of the best travel experiences of my life.

Fantastic safari experience
Very well organised and enjoyable Safari. Our driver Wisdom was brilliant and did his absolute best to ensure we saw as many animals as possible during our 6 hour safari.

Nice driving and kind people! Wisdom(the man bringing us around the safari) was so funny and gave us lots of craic. He made sure that we spotted a lion with all of his determination! Thank you WISDOM!!!

The 3 of us had planned a 4-day trekking up Mt. Meru plus a 5-day Safari in Northern Tanzania. We inquired to several tour operators including Destiny Explorers. Issa´s feedback was very fast, and the suggested route / accomodations / destinations exactly matched what we had imagined. The price quote & itinerary were detailed, easy to understand and transparent. Overall, Destiny Explorer´s offer was the most attractive. From the beginning of our contact, communication was excellent. Every e-mail was answered very quickly, every question and concern attended to. Payment transactions all went smoothly. And Issa also gave us advice when we seemed to have delays with our visas.
At Arusha, we were warmly welcomed by our mountain team of 8 (including guides, cook, porters...) & Nico, to start our Mt. Meru challenge. Our guides Elly & Livin are just unique - we had so much fun with them, they were always good for a joke, they motivated and supported us at every step of the hike. Mt. Meru is more challenging than we had expected, but thanks to them we made it ! Our chef Ramadhan provided us with excellent dining (a LOT of food!). The whole team is just great : Elia the "waiter", and our porters who have such a hard job, yet are always cheerful and smiling (Emanuel, John, Wilhard & Jonas). Cheers to all of you and a big THANK YOU for making this possible and such a memorable experience for us! From the next day onward, we were in good hands with our cheerful and caring Safari Guide Nico, who took us to Tarangire NP, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Transition was very smoth, transport all taken care of.
Thanks to Nico´s expertise, we got to see everything that Tanzania´s wildlife has to offer. Nico really went out of his way to make our trip comfortable, enjoyable and smooth and always had advice on any question. We had such a great time with him and will miss him dearly - cheers & big THANK YOU, Nico, for making this such an eventful and unforgettable safari! Saying good bye to ALL of you was sad ! All we can add as a conclusion is, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND DESTINY EXPLORERS ! Thank you, Issa for the good organization, Thank you, Nico, Elly, Livin, Ramadhan, Eliah, Emanuel, John, Wilhard & Jonas ! I am sure we will be back some time soon & if any of our friends plan a trip to Tanzania, we will send them to your care :-)

Quality really worth to price.
It was excellent experience. It was great value for money. We have seen all 5 five. Tha Maasai Mara parc was georgeus. The guide was a pro,profi rider and excellent animal cheasing. He was kind and allways helpfull and accomadating to our needs.
