Over seven days and six nights, we encountered new animals daily, ticking off all the “Big Five” and so much more. We saw cheetahs three times, a leopard hunting, a herd of over fifty elephants crossing behind our vehicle, and even a litter of six lion cubs drinking at a waterhole in a line—scenes I’d only seen in documentaries before, now etched into my memory forever.
