Very helpful and keeps in touch
I did the: 6-day Big 5 budget tour.
Dosasha tours was very helpful in getting everything ready for my tour. After asking for a quote I got an almost immediate response and the most professional response of all the quotes I did. Furthermore as a backpacker I could leave my big backpack in their office, big plus.
As solo traveler I was placed in a combined safari group, which I really appreciated, we were with 6 travelers total. From this group I had the most affordable price. The day itinerary’s were the same across the board, the only difference was in the accommodations. All accommodations I stayed in were good and, according to me, even a bit above expectations.
There was however a small problem with an overbooking of one of the accommodations. However this fault lay with the accommodation and not with the tour operator, as more people of my tour group had the same issue. The problem was quickly solved in collaboration with our guide Peter (who was a great guide).
As a final note, they kept in touch with me via WhatsApp during the full safari to ask if everything was alright. Which is something I greatly appreciated.

Wonderful and Experienced staff - well planned itinerary
We had an exciting and well planned trip. Our guide was experienced and safely navigated the various routes and wildlife interactions. The staff were very courteous and great hospitality overall. As vegetarians our dietary needs were met reasonably well with. The Ngorongoro Mountain View Lodge was beautiful offering scenic views. The triple room we were in had a rug under the bed which was not gripping the floor surface, which may lead to accidental fall. Additionally, there was no phone in the room to call the staff in case of emergencies.
Fortunately, we saw all of the Big 5, an unforgettable experience for us, thanks to our wonderful guide Semle who was an excellent tracker, highly knowledgeable, and expert driver. We are highly content with the experience overall.

Amazing experience with a great team!!
Mike and his team made our trip a great experience and made sure we had the best time. They were very respectful, attentive and accommodating to our needs. The team spoke Spanish and they also taught us some words in Swahili. It was a great experience full of great memories. Recommend 100%.

Great experience
Everything was well taken care of and went smoothly. It was awe inspiring to see all the animals and observe their behavior in their natural environment. Our guide Ismail was extremely knowledgeable about all the animals, and we really appreciated his expertise. He had a lot of fascinating things to tell us all along the way. He was also very knowledgeable about where to find the animals and how to spot them. The lodging was very comfortable and pleasant, and the staff at each lodge were very welcoming. They were very accommodating of dietary restrictions for the meals. The Land Cruiser we rode in had extra cushions to make the seats very comfortable, plenty of drinking water, and even a charging station. Ismail drove in a very safe, careful way, which we very much appreciated. It was a fascinating trip. Overall, the value of the service provided was excellent, and we would recommend Savannah Explorers to others based on our experience. If we have a chance to return, we would be very happy to have Ismail as our guide again.

A well-run, reasonably priced and reliable tour operator
We took the accommodated Zimbabwe and Botswana "Game Tracker" tour with Sunway Safaris last month and were very pleased with the experience. Everything was extremely well organized. The days were long, but a free day at Victoria Falls in the middle of the tour allowed some respite. Our guides, Alois and Jonas, were efficient, well trained, intelligent, gracious, pleasant, and knowledgeable about the countries we visited and their wildlife. Jonas, who was the driver, did a wonderful job of navigating difficult roads over thousands of miles. In those places where we did not have a local guide (these were also good), Alois provided detailed explanations about what we saw.
Overnight accommodations were varied but always comfortable, most frequently in the form of large permanent tents/cabins with bathroom. Often the guides cooked for us, and helping with the dishes etc. created camaraderie among the tourists.
If you plan to take this tour, be aware that it involves very long drives over roads that are often potholed and sometimes unpaved. Our truck (the "Red Elephant") was reasonably comfortable but could be very bouncy in the back seats---luckily there were nine of us in a vehicle that seats twelve, so only one had to sit in back, and we took turns. Moreover, the air conditioning was not really adequate on sunny days, even though it was winter. That said, it is well worth while traveling overland to get some understanding of the geography (natural and human) of the countries visited.
We saw many different animals as well as other sights, were charmed by the local people, learned a great deal, and were well taken care of. We can recommend Sunways as an experienced and reliable tour operator.

Reliable, efficient able to provide memorable experience
We are seasoned safari travellers for game viewing but not trekking safaris. We could be better prepared with adequate mountain climbing trainings. The trek to the chimpanzees and golden monkeys are a lot easier and lower intensity compared to trekking for the gorillas. The one hour spent with gorillas however seemed short. I would recommend going for at least 2 gorillas treks if you can. Accommodation are basic so bring hair dryer if you have long hair.

Just don't
Warning: “Opulent Africa Tours and Safaris” is just a rebranded name for “Opulent Tours and Travel.” Please read before booking.
My wife and I had carefully planned a once-in-a-lifetime 31-day safari with Opulent Tours and Travel. The staff were polite and helpful—until the moment we needed our money back.
When COVID hit and our country banned travel to South Africa, we canceled well within their official refund period and filled out all the required paperwork. Then the excuses began. “Be patient,” they said. Weeks turned into months. We later realized their terms of service say nothing about when refunds are due. We had paid months in advance, but now they felt no urgency to return what was ours.
After nearly two years of waiting, we offered them a chance to redeem themselves: let us take the original trip. Instead, they demanded an additional $3,000 for a shorter 25-day tour. Why? Because of our negative review. Yes, really. We were told we owed them for being honest. Since then, they’ve gone silent. We even tried to sue them, but Evans, the owner and CEO keeps moving from address to address to avoid the judicial process.
Planning a tour like this is about trust, and Opulent Africa Tours broke it. Please don’t make the same mistake we did. Do yourselves a favor and choose a company with basic decency.
