We booked Axis through a friends recommendation and it didn’t disappoint.
Excellent communication with Axis before settled our nerves.
James, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the animals and nothing was too much for him. He knows the parks like the back of his hand and we managed to see everything in the time we had.
We would also recommend the hot air balloon if you get chance, it really made our trip special.

I travelled with my husband to Zanzibar for a romantic getaway planned by Makisala Safaris, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The team arranged everything seamlessly from airport transfers and a charming beachfront hotel to spice farm and Stone Town tours so all we had to do was relax and enjoy. We spent our days strolling along white-sand beaches, exploring historic streets, tasting fresh seafood, and watching sunsets over the Indian Ocean. Every detail was handled with care, making our holiday stress-free and unforgettable, and we can’t wait to return to Tanzania with Makisala Safaris!

The Mara is incredibly wonderful!
We had a wonderful two-night safari to the Masai Mara. Communication with Morris from Balu Travel was smooth, and after some adjustments due to availability, we stayed at Emayian Luxury Camp — an excellent choice with great food, all-inclusive cocktails, and outstanding staff.
Our driver, Kasaine, a local Maasai, is exceptionally well-connected with other drivers and rangers, and knows the Mara inside out. Thanks to his expertise, we experienced incredible sightings. Just half an hour after entering the park, we were five meters from a pride of lions. By the end of our first afternoon, we had seen all of the Big Five and quite a bit more.
The next morning, we left before sunrise for a full-day game drive. Kasaine timed everything perfectly, allowing us to enjoy remarkable locations and wildlife with little or no other vehicles around.

Fantastic, professional and good value safari experience
Booked the safari directly myself and cannot fault the communications or arrangements. The price was also very competitive, particularly for a private safari (which I would strongly recommend). Everything worked like clockwork - they are rated No 1 in Arusha for a reason. The choice of accommodation was spot on with particular favourites being Heart and Soul Lodge and the Moyo tented camp. Our guide Augustine was very experienced and had a knack of getting us in the right place before anyone else. We saw the big five and the cats in particular were amazingly close while respecting the animals space. Do the Maasai tour, recognising that all the money they part from you is used for the collective good, not luxuries. Take lots of US$, it’s easier that way, although all the hotels did take cards (with banking fees on top).

Trekking to the summit with my husband
My dream of climbing Kilimanjaro was finally realized when my husband and I visited Tanzania on a tour organized by Tanzania Wildlife Adventures. We chose the Rongai route and were amazed by the breathtaking scenery. Patrick handled all the arrangements, making the process smooth and effortless. The trek was challenging, but we were grateful for the support from the amazing crew. We both successfully completed the climb and enjoyed celebrating our achievement together. I highly recommend Tanzania Wildlife Adventures as a reliable and professional Kilimanjaro tour operator.

A Rocky Start Turned into an Unforgettable Safari in a lifetime — Thanks to Ken!
Our safari with Jungleroam started off with an unfortunate incident. On our first day of safari, we unfortunately experienced a car accident when our first guide tried to avoid a motorcycle that suddenly braked in front of us. The distance between the vehicles was so close that a collision couldn’t be avoided. Two of our companions were injured, and one even needed stitches at a local hospital. It was a terrifying night, and for a moment, we seriously considered ending our trip and flying home.
Thankfully, Jungleroam replaced our guide with Ken — and everything changed from that point on. Ken is an exceptionally skilled and careful driver. Even in heavy traffic or on crowded roads, he always stays calm and patient, never rushing and always waiting for the safest moment to overtake.
During the safari, Ken impressed us with his deep knowledge of the wildlife. He always seemed to know exactly where to find the animals and positioned our jeep perfectly for the best views and photos. Even after we had already seen most of the animals on the very first day, Ken continued to surprise us with new sightings and moments we’ll never forget. Unlike our first guide, he doesn’t talk constantly, but his quiet confidence and genuine care speak louder than words.
While our experience with Jungleroam started off rocky — with slow communication on WhatsApp and the initial accident — we would still recommend them wholeheartedly only because of Ken. His professionalism, kindness, and warmth truly turned our safari into an unforgettable experience in a lifetime.

Fantastic service from day one until trip
I contacted a few companies re a multi location trip and Explore and Travel Africa were the best response I received and from that moment until my trip the information and options they provided, the service and contact I received and the locations proposed were second to none. The hotel they selected in Cape Town was amazing and had all the other customers on our excursions jealous, the hotel in sari was fab and was a beautiful lodge and the drives were great. The location selected in Thabamati was out of this world.
We also received a lovely touch in our hotel in Cape Town with welcome gifts and the fact I was given their WhatsApp number should there be any issues was amazing service. Everything on the trip ran to plan, the local communication was also great.
I have to say we are looking at potential future trips and I will be using Explore and Travel Africa again for these.

Top assistance and customization
I had a wonderful experience for my 6 day trip between safaris and cultural tours. I think that the most important things that future travelers might want to know, is that you can request a range of additions / customizations for your trip, while still joining a group of other travelers and keeping the total price under control. Their assistance, both in planning the trip and during the trip itself (and even after!), is just top-notch.
