Mind-blowing Serengeti wildlife encounters made extraordinary by an amazing guide!
Tanzania is truly mind-blowing!
I originally thought Kenya already had a ton of hippos, so when our guide and driver, Dicklack, mentioned taking us to a place with a 'strong perfume,' I was a bit skeptical about just how intense it would be. To my absolute surprise, we saw massive pods of hippos in the Serengeti—I counted at least 130 of them!
Our sharp-eyed guide even spotted a mongoose nearby and immediately drove us over for a closer look.

We had the most amazing trip in Botswana thanks to Edwin and his team. He was able to accommodate all the different phases of our travels, including the self drive part, for which he organised everything: from renting the vehicle, to booking campsites/lodges, to organising guided game drives. The second part of our trip was equally amazing, when we joined him and his team for a mobile safari in the Savute reserve.
Edwin and his team are really attentive, addressing all our needs and questions. He has an amazing knowledge of all the animals we encountered. We always felt safe, and were able to see so many animals: leopards, lions with cubs, hyenas, wild dogs, elephants, honey badgers, antelopes, giraffe, zebras and so many beautiful birds! The food prepared by the cook Walter was also delicious!
Finally, we ended our trip with an amazing tour of Victoria Falls, again all perfectly organised by Edwin. We could not recommend Keya Botswana agency more, a massive thank you to Edwin and his team!

A perfect tour start to finish, everything we wanted and more
Lion Safaris were 100% value for money: professional, reliable, knowledgeable and friendly. Our guide was happy to answer all of our questions and tell us about the country and wildlife of Rwanda, whilst also being sensitive to giving us space to just sit and watch the world go by. They provided my partner and I and 2 young adult children with a fantastic bespoke 11 day holiday in Rwanda, booking all necessary permits, tickets and hotel rooms for us. From being met at the airport (and yes, we were a little nervous, having sent a lot of money to an unknown company!) with our smart safari Landcruiser to the very last day, we loved every minute of our tour of the country. Lion Safaris really showed us they care about satisfied customers. We saw the Volcanoes region, Nyungwe national park and Akagera National park, with great drives in between all 3. The hotels and lodges we were booked into were outstanding and as they have known Lion Safaris for many years, have a good working relationship with them. They went above and beyond to provide meals out of hours or to takeaway. We hope to return for a tour of Uganda/Tanzania where Lion now offers tours. Do not hesitate to book with Lion Safaris, a family-run business in the heart of Rwanda.
