Ideal planner for an idyllic holiday
5/5

Dealing with logistics is the last thing I want to worry about during my holiday, and planning for a trip to Africa involves LOGISTICS. African Safari Guru took all that worry out of my hands. They have local knowledge and expertise, and took care of everything. There were small hiccups with local vendors but those were swiftly handled. My family and I were well taken care of every step of the way; starting from airport transfers to guides, to the beautiful accommodations, to well-paced activities to our liking.

Details are handled pre trip when you book the trip, with clear instructions, and prompt replies. Just make sure you communicate clearly with the agent handling your tour plan about your wishes, and they will customize accordingly.

Amazing, local safari tour company with great service
5/5

We had an INCREDIBLE trip with Daniel Kisemei, our guide and driver. We took a six-day safari through Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, and Maasai Mara. In the short trip, we saw the Big Five, the Great Migration, and learned a lot about African culture from Daniel, who was born in the Maasai culture. He was extremely knowledgeable and could identify every animal/bird we saw on our trip. He is well educated on all aspects of Kenyan life, including politics, society, and more. I can't recommend him enough. He is a very sincere, genuine, and hardworking guide who will ensure your travel group has a great and safe experience.

Lencer, our travel coordinator, also did an excellent job. She was very responsive at all times. When a hotel had underdelivered on what was agreed up on, she quickly took action to advocate for us.

Awour Escapades is a great, small safari company. My friends and I would recommend them to any foreigners looking to travel to Kenya.

What an AMAZING experience.
5/5

My wife and I went on safari for our honeymoon. We stayed three nights at Linyanti Bush Camp, three nights at Khwai Lediba and two nights at Thorntree River Lodge. Each camp offered a little different experience but the service was exceptional in each location. We especially loved our guides. Taylor, our guide at Linyanti, was amazing and we really enjoyed spending so much time with him. We can say the same for Claudia at Thorntree . As an amateur wildlife photographer, this trip was a bucket list experience for me, and the guides made sure to deliver a memorable experience. We saw all the animals we had hoped to see including a cheetah and a leopard!

We were pleasantly surprised by how great the food was at all times! We enjoyed the morning breakfast by the fire, and lunch and dinner were always wonderful. We especially loved the Boma nights. We loved the community aspect of the Botswana camps, meeting the other guests from around the world, and spending time with the lovely hosts and guides from Botswana. Thorntree River Lodge also had exceptional service, but it was a less communal experience amongst guests. That's not a complaint, just an observation.

This was a pricier vacation than we can typically afford, but the value felt great. We got our money's worth out of the experience and the service, including guides, chefs, housekeepers, bartenders and our hosts, was nothing short of perfect. We felt taken care of from the moment we stepped foot in Botswana all the way through navigating the Zambia/Zimbabwe border to fly back to Cape Town. We simply cannot stop raving about every aspect of our trip, so thank you, ABC!

An incredible trip, stunning places and absurd wildlife spotted during game drives!
The trip is adventurous but worth all the effort.

July is a great month, dry and amazing if you push yourself up to North Serengeti to see the crossing of the Great Migration.

SafariBooking a great website to find different excellent tour operators. You still need to negotiate a bit, after first proposals for fair prices.

Recommended! *****

About: Uganda
Outstanding, enjoyable experience and organised

5/5

My road trip to Southern Uganda was incredibly amazing. Indeed Uganda is a pearl of Africa trip to southern Uganda was a source of attraction, we passed through Queen Elizabeth national park and spotted herds of buffaloes crossing the road, elephants, zebra, hippo walking on road not to mention but a few
We saw the tidy hillsides which provide a beauty of contrasting landscapes
What we won't forget is the Africas deepest lake, Lake Bunyonyi enclosed by mountains which is great scenery. It was named Lake Bunyonyi because of the very many small birds that inhabit the lake. Relaxing at the lake with cool breeze and the hospitable farmers around the islands of Lake Bunyonyi keeps the place always busy. We enjoyed canoe riding and spotted very many species of birds. A safari to this part of Uganda is ever on my mind am planning to come back again. I won't forget to mention Twaha lukwago our tour operator who mindfully organised this fantastic memorable trip with alot of professionalism.

About: Tanzania
Abundant wildlife, genuine and friendly locals.

5/5

We had an amazing 8 day road safari through Tanzania in early June.
Weather was cool in the mornings and evening and warm enough for t shirts and shorts through the day.
Starting in Arusha we did day tours through Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and then spent 2 days in each the central and northern Serengeti.
Tarangire was amazing for elephants, abundant in zebras, bird life and the amazing Baobab trees.
Ngorongoro crater was our first sighting for Lions and Hippos, hyenas and again hundreds of zebra and Wilderbeast.
We saw all the big 5 at Ngorongoro except the elusive Rhino…
Our favourite was the central Serengeti… we saw all the big cats here and a leopard devouring his lunch in a tree was amazing.
Giraffes in the central and northern Serengeti were surprisingly prolific and each sighting was as fantastic as the first.
We were incredibly lucky to see the wilderbeast cross the Mara river.. what an epic event, some disappointment at the various tour companies vehicles blocking the banks as the beast crossed.
The tented camps was an immersive experience, was nice to spend time at the fire with other travellers before dinner.
Delicious food and staff happy to hear about your adventures.
My tips would be to
1.ensure you have an experienced guide for your safari … a lot of cowboys out there… many roadside car troubles due to inexperience
2.enjoy the company of your guide.. we learnt so much more from our guide about the culture and the way of life for locals when we shared our meals with him.
3.do a cultural experience, not just a massai visit but the local farmers, or a school, so friendly to share their experience.
We loved the people in Tanzania.

Outstanding & flexible support - before and during our trip
5/5

From initial communications, through itinerary changes to accommodate flights and interests, Harilala provided prompt, excellent service. Throughout the trip, the main and local guides had fantastic personalities and were excellent when managing rough roads and helping with challenging climbs. Pricing was very good value for what we received in both support and experiences. Madagascar is challenging but amazing and incredibly rewarding. And, don't miss the opportunity to eat at the Mad Zebu. Great food, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. I can't recommend Harilala and his team at Madagascar Natural Tours enough.

The Big Five
5/5

A once in a lifetime experience!! Me and my best friend had been dreaming about this for such a long time and our dreams truly came true, was the perfect weekend getaway to add to our trip. From the smooth organisation to the perfect safari. Our guide Joel was incredible- making us smile from ear to ear the whole time and ensuring we missed absolutely nothing. We managed to see the big five within a matter of hours of each other simply driving to our accommodation! We always stopped to get the best pictures possible and even was reversing up the road if we had past things. We added a hot air balloon experience to our trip and although I was feeling extremely nervous. I had nothing to fear the pilot and his team just made everything feel at ease and they finished it off with a delicious breakfast with giraffes literally roaming past us. To sum up this trip all I can say is if I could re live these moments again and again forever I would. Nothing will ever compare

Absolutely amazing
5/5

Destiny Explorer was a real discovery: despite having a small misunderstanding when it came to managing the Spanish guide, the problem was quickly resolved and we were able to count on a fabulous and experienced driver and a young and enthusiastic translator who knew the terrain. With these premises, each day of the Safari was a true adventure, especially in the Serengeti, where we were from sunrise to sunset discovering every corner of this natural wonder. Wonderful and incredible experience, unforgettable for all those who love animals in their natural habitat.
